Chapter 4

2 months had passed after the visit to the hospital, and Jordan was only worsening each day. Felicity and Sky had been keeping their arguments to a limit since the hospital, which, unfortunately, had led the two to drift apart and speak less to each other. Natasha had won the first place in a dancing competition and competed in another one. She and Avery never missed an opportunity to visit Jordan in the hospital every Sunday, sometimes with Sky tagging along. Isabella had been in a rather miserable state, due to Jordan's illness. She had been isolating herself from the others for a while, only speaking to anyone occasionally. Sky had noticed this but had chosen to leave her alone, as Sky herself liked being alone to think.

Whilst Avery and Natasha were getting closer than ever and forming a tight-knit group with Sky occasionally joining them, Felicity had begun to investigate the reason for Jordan's sickness, still believing that a curse had been set upon Jordan. Sky has been trying to ignore her for the past few weeks, and only smiled whenever she saw Felicity around. Isabella had been spending lunch alone at school, and no longer went to her weekly sleepovers with Sky - Sky didn't mind this at all, as she had gotten closer to Avery and Natasha and having weekly sleepovers with them, instead.

Isabella and Felicity occasionally spoke with each other, as both were isolating themselves from the other three, and became close friends. Sky, Avery, and Natasha thought they didn't miss the times when they were closer to Isabella and Felicity, that is until Felicity goes missing.

Nobody noticed at first until Isabella approached Sky at lunch and asked if she knew where Felicity was. When they figured out that nobody did: They began to panic. The police refused to take the case as she had not been missing for 24 hours yet, only a mere 10. After school, however, Isabella, Sky, Avery, and Natasha had received a text from Felicity - one that said that Felicity had gone hunting for the cure to Jordan's curse, a cure which was supposedly four ancient magical flowers that only appeared once every hundred years.

"We've got to find her," Isabella pleaded, hugging a pillow. All four of them had held an emergency meeting at Avery's mansion.

"Oh please, she'll come around. When she sees for herself that it's not a real thing, she'll come back to us, apologising for all the trouble she caused," Sky applied a layer of dark blue nail polish over her purple one.

"Uh... I'm not so sure about that." Natasha looked at them from her laptop with a worried frown. "Perhaps you'd like to see this."

18 ANCIENT CURSES AND THEIR CURES

Natasha scrolled down the list of curses and their cures and stopped at number 7. "Here, read it yourselves," She thrust the laptop onto Avery's lap.

7. Myorna Yamagazi
This 1600-year-old curse has been haunting the Earth since 418. It kills its victims in 1 year and curses unfortunate people every one hundred years.

The tale says that once there was a village girl by the name of Myorna, who fell in love with the village chief's son. However, when the village chief's son married the daughter of a rich farmer, Myorna grew jealous. The pair had a daughter which was loved by the whole village, but Myorna despised her. She learnt witchcraft, and cursed the young infant to die within a year, and suffer greatly from various strange diseases in that year. Then she ran away, to avoid being burnt at the stake and accused of witchcraft, she ran - far, far away, and hid on a mountain, somewhere she would never be found.

The village chief's son and his wife begged another witch for a cure, and got one in the form of four flowers. Their baby was normal again, for once and for all. However, when Myorna found out, she became really angry, and stole the ancient flowers, the cure to the curse, and hid it at four different places, each representing the flowers' colour. Then she swore, that every 100 years, the curse would return and infect someone else, and this would go on until the person cursed has died.

Cure-
As mentioned in the story, the cure is in the form of four magical flowers hidden on a mountain. Though Myorna has died, the curse lives on, and the mountain remains. It is also mentioned that the flowers are hidden in places that represent what the flowers look like. Here is the list of flowers:

Aquadate Flosse
This water-like flower is hidden somewhere deep under the sea. In a magical sea somewhere uncommon, unknown to normal humans. Where voices dwell deep within, and swishy tails tell a thousand tales. An ancient castle you must seek, one which finds the true-hearted. Finding one flower is supposed to lead to another. We can't tell you more, you'd have to find out yourselves, once you find all four flowers, pluck out the petals, mix with boiling water, and feed it to the cursed one.

Lapansi Flosse
Earth flower, dwells deep within.

Emoyeni Flosse
Air flower, lighter than air itself.

Ignisio Flosse
Fire flower, hot to the touch.

WE MUST WARN THAT THIS MISSION COULD RESULT IN DEATH. DO NOT TRY TO ACCOMPLISH THIS MISSION FOR NO REASON AT ALL.

Isabella gasped at the last line. If Felicity believed all this, she could die!

Natasha, Avery, and Sky looked at one another. Everybody was thinking the same thing - what would happen to Felicity? Sky closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and sighed.

Natasha and Avery were squeezing each other's hands, worrying very much. Isabella wanted to say something, but the words wouldn't come. She looked at everybody, else, they were all shaking, terrified, everyone except Sky.

Her eyes were wide with determination, and a sparkle could be seen in her eye, her red lips were pursed as she took another deep breath.

"We have to go after her." Of all the people who could have said it, it was Sky, despite all their arguments and the fact that they barely spoke, it was Sky who suggested it. She still cared after all.
