Chapter 2- Blast of the Past

~Sabre's POV~

Quickly, I run over to Rainbow Steve's unconscious body and check for pulse first. He's breathing, and then once I am sure of that I scoop him up into my arms bridal style. His small, light body fits into my arms without a struggle and I bring him towards our base of operations. I run towards the house, running straight thorough the forest.

As I get closer to the building, it's faint outline appears through the foggy air and dark area due to not much sunlight. I have stumbled a few times, due to me running. As soon as I reach the building I fling the door open and go to the closest bed, turning out to be Rainbow Steve's. I gently place is small hourglass body onto the bed before running over to the sink to get a bowl and a wash cloth. The water seems to take forever as I fill it up with some warm water, and the moment it is full I turn the water off and then run over to Rainbow Steve. I place the wash cloth in the bowl of warm water that I placed beside the bed on the nightstand to have close. The white washcloth soaks in the water while I slowly start to take Rainbow Steve's shirt off, revealing a bloody wound. (I don't like this, help me) Just looking at it makes me wince, and I get the washcloth out of the water and place it on his wound.

I watch in horror as the white piece of fabric turns a reddish pink. Quickly, I get up and grab some bandages from the cabinet, as well as a few more cloths. I run into Rainbow Steve's room and get one of his shirts out of his dresser before running back to his bed. The water in the bowl turns the color of the rag as soon as I put it in, and I close my eyes for a moment to take a deep breath. (Me right now while writing this) I feel the pain in my neck slightly from Memory Steve's sword, but I push the feeling away and continue to wash the wound on Rainbow Steve's chest.

I go over to the sink and get new water for the bowl, rinsing it off with the washcloth. Walking slow, I return to Rainbow Steve's side and wet one of the new wash clothes slightly before straining the water out of it. Placing it on his forehead, I continue to wash off what's left of the flowing blood from the wound and then I start getting the dried blood off. The old chair I am sitting in creaks as I move to get the bandages to cover around the damaged skin. My hands shake as I look at Rainbow Steve's battered body, and I slowly start to wrap the bandages around him.

I feel as if one wrong move would break his small, delicate body. My fingers comb through his colorful hair as soon as I finish wrapping the bandages. The wind blows through the open window and blows my hood down; and sends some leaves coming in. I softly lay my he's down on the edge of the bed while rubbing Rainbow Steve's hand.

~Rainbow Steve's POV~

All I can see is darkness. Darkness everywhere, for miles and miles. 'Am I dead?', that is the only thought that plays through my head. "So this is what you go through when you die.." I whisper aloud, the sound almost echoing through my ears.

Suddenly some colorful particles appear in the darkness, and then they start to fly towards me. They run straight into me, and I fall down to my knees and clutch my head and pain fills it. A bright white light flashes in front of my vision. The light leaves me stunned, in a daze-like phase.

The moment my vision returns to me, I see that I am in a field, watching... Me and a Blue Steve playing around? "Blue Steve, guess what!" The me I am watching says, directed towards the Blue Steve I am in the field with. "What Rainbow Steve?" He responds with. His voice sounds... Familiar...

"We've gotten six of the seven artifacts and the weapon! We just need to get one more, the pink one, and we will have them all!" The past me explains before hugging Blue Steve. I watch in fascination as the past me shuffles through his inventory, showing six glowing blocks and a glowing pickaxe. There is every color of the rainbow, except for pink. Wait a second... Artifacts? Wasn't Elemental Steve questioning me before for some artifacts?

That is when the realization hits me. What I am seeing right now is figments of my past, and that is why these things seem familiar. The past me grabs Blue Steve's hand and drags him along as they run towards the sunset. Both past me and the Blue Steve laugh, seeming to have the time of our lives. Suddenly a bright white light is all I see with my vision again.

Once again I see a past version of me, but this time I am with Nightmare Steve, and no Blue Steve around in sight. Me and Nightmare Steve are fighting it out...

Past me flies up and summons tons of lightning on Nightmare Steve. I watch in awe as the past me does tons of things I can't do: Fireballs, teleporting, speed, lava, leaves, ice, and then the water and lightning I can do. It is all the powers that each colored Steve has.

The past me flies around Nightmare Steve before summoning water on him, then trapping him in ice. He struggles to break out as I keep doing it, and soon he stops flying. Nightmare Steve lands on the ground roughly, looking weak and tired. I watch on, seeing past me not even breaking a sweat before summoning tons of lightning and defeating Nightmare Steve.

I watch as the younger me looks up at the sky with the sunset starting before I hear words coming from my past self, "I did it... I did it Blue Steve..." There is no longer the happy playfulness in my eyes, and there isn't the fierce look either. Instead my eyes are filled with sadness, regret, and grief. Dropping to my knees, the past me sobs into his hands and rain starts falling all around.

As I start remembering this moment happening in my life all the memories from between when I was created to the time I am at now start flooding back to me. That's the moment I remember what happened to Blue Steve. I feel like dropping to my knees and sobbing, just like the younger version of me, but before I can do anything the white light surrounds me again.

By now you would think my eyes would be used to the light, but nope! The white light eventually fades away again and turns to a ice mountain that seems... Familiar... Past me appears, flying through the clouds with Blue Steve in his arms. He lands on the ground at the bottom of the mountain, looks up before flying up and disappearing halfway up.

I run to the edge and see myself fly in the side of the mountain. The me I still control carefully climbs down the mountain and goes into the room the past me is in. I follow myself to a room with a bed in the center and watch as I place Blue Steve body onto it. He looks down at the lifeless body in front of him, bending down and kissing Blue Steve softly on his forehead.

Actual, current me blushes slightly and then I watch as the past me makes a new room in the building, and after a while it is completed with water flowing along the walls. In the center there is a tomb, a open tomb. I follow my past self back up the stairs to the room with the lifeless Blue Steve in it, and see myself carrying Blue Steve down the stairs without a struggle. Placing him down in the tomb, slowly and carefully, I get ready to place the top back on it.

Then I stop, taking a pause and then hesitantly place the blue artifact in his hand. I smile softly as I remember this happening before the white light surrounds me once again.

I see my former self walking through a forest, taking in the scenery. Suddenly Memory Steve appears in front of me, smirking. "Who are you?" I ask defensively as I pull out my lightning summoner and hold it tight. His smirk turns into a devilish grin as he steps closer towards me. "I am Memory Steve, and I have come to get those precious artifacts of yours." My breath hitches as he finishes his sentence.

"N-No, never!" I shout before flying up to go to summon lightning. Then I stop; and drop back onto the ground in front of Memory Steve. "Now Rainbow Steve, can I have the artifacts you fetched for me?" Almost moving robotically, I watch in horror as past me pulls out the red, orange, yellow, green, purple, and pink artifacts and tossing them to Memory Steve; with the Ultimate Weapon following not long afterwards. Memory Steve is so enticed by the artifacts and the weapon, he doesn't even notice that there is no blue artifact.

"Now, run along Rainbow Steve." Memory Steve says while his eyes grow dark. "Yes Memory Steve," past me says and turns around, walking away. Memory Steve concentrates hard and when there is a good 25 block distance between him and Rainbow Steve, the expression Memory Steve holds softens; and at the same moment I see past me fall to the ground, clutching my head.

Memory Steve smirks evilly before disappearing. The past me eventually gets up slowly and then walks away, as if nothing happened. Not trying to fly, use powers, not anything; it is as if he reset my mind to the moment I was created. I shutter as I remember this moment happening, and a year falls down my face as the white light engulfs me one last time.

~~~
I did it! I finished!
I feel so bad about making Blue Steve die, but I think I'll make up for it with him coming back and with the bit of BlueBow fluff.
So, what did you think?
Also, almost 2k words?? Does that make up for the 700 words last time??
