Chapter 43: Missing Students
Lilith: Your demon genetics, I suspect, have gotten you into a fair amount of trouble, haven’t they?
Blue: Well, last year’s chaos sort of explains it. But hey, it was for a good reason, I assure you
Lilith nodded, her smile growing a bit more sincere.
Lilith: Of course. You were the one who stopped Tyler Galpin and destroyed Joseph Crackstone...and rather easily, if I recall.
Blue: Demon genetics, am I right?
Lilith’s soft laughter filled their small space.
Lilith: Indeed. You’re stronger than most realise, Blue. But remember, strength must be tempered with control.
Blue: I know. And you’ve helped me a lot with that.
Lilith: And I’ll continue to help you, no matter what. But keep your guard up....especially around those Old Horns.
Their conversation fell into a comfortable rhythm, the music surrounding them. Despite the seriousness of their talk, Blue couldn’t help but feel at ease in Lilith’s presence.
After all, she was not just a teacher but a protector for demons like him. The dance ended, and Lilith offered him a graceful smile before stepping back.
Lilith: Enjoy the rest of your evening, Blue.
Blue: You too, Lady Lilith
As he walked back toward the others, Wednesday’s dark eyes tracked him, still unreadable but thoughtful. After his dance with Lady Lilith, Blue barely had time to take a breath before he was approached by another one of his teachers.
Medusa, known for her mastery over stone magic and, of course, her serpentine hair, stepped forward in a flowing green dress.
Her usual snakes had been transformed into sleek, elegant hair for the evening, as they usually were, and her sharp yellow eyes shimmered in the dim light of the hall.
Medusa: Would you care for a dance, Blue?
Blue: Of course, Professor Medusa.
Taking her hand, they began to move with the music, her serpentine grace matched by Blue’s surprisingly steady steps. They danced in sync, Medusa gliding along as if she were born for it, while Blue kept pace despite being a little less refined.
Medusa: You're quite popular tonight
Blue: Yeah, it was like this last year, you're actually my fourth dance. I don't even know why people like to dance with me, I'm not even good.
Medusa's laugh was light and musical.
Medusa: Well, I’m honored to be part of that number. It's refreshing to see someone with your...enthusiasm. Demons tend to carry a lot of weight on their shoulders.
Blue: Oh yeah, definitely, sometimes it feels like too much. But I’m doing my best. The teachers, especially Lady Lilith, have helped me a lot. And that includes you as well
Medusa: Thank you, and I can see why. You’ve been growing, but just remember, growth isn’t just about power. It’s about understanding who you are and what you're capable of.
As they continued to move, Blue couldn't help but feel a strange connection with Medusa, like she understood the burden he carried. But before he could delve into that, the music shifted, and their dance came to a natural end.
Blue: Thank you for the dance, Professor
Medusa: The pleasure was mine
Medusa walked off after that, with the dance over, Blue spotted Adam and Evelyn sitting near the snack table, chatting quietly. He made his way over, glad to finally get a break from the dancing.
Adam had a plate of snacks in front of him, while Evelyn was leaning back in her chair, looking amused.
Adam: How many dances are you going to have tonight?
Blue: Honestly, I think I've lost count. I just had one with Lady Lilith and Professor Medusa ._.
Evelyn: Yeah, we saw. Let me guess, Lady Lilith wanted to talk about Wednesday and the Old Horn?
Blue: Si, she’s concerned, thinks Wednesday is getting too close to it. Honestly, I agree. We need to keep her away from that place, it's spooky
Adam: Wednesday is stubborn, do you really think she'll listen?
Blue: I dunno, but I have to try. Her life is at risk, the more she forces herself into this, the less she will get away with
Evelyn: Wednesday’s smart, but she also likes to take risks. We need to watch her closely.....which is hard because sometimes she disappears before we even realise
Blue: It's like she has mastered stealth
The three of them shared a knowing glance. They had no idea that Wednesday had already ventured into the depths of the Old Horn, speaking with Veles himself.
Adam: Speaking of risks, how’s Megan been doing? Everything stable with her now?
Blue: Yeah, she’s doing better. Lennon’s keeping a close eye on her, and she’s been more.....controlled lately. I visit her pretty often to make sure everything’s good.
Evelyn: That’s great to hear, we don't need an AI uprising situation. But seriously, Blue, four dances already?
Blue: Do we have to keep talking about that?
Adam: Hahaha, yeah, especially when you're going to be sore tomorrow, man.
Blue: Hey, I didn’t ask for all of them. Well...except for Enid’s.
Evelyn: Well, you're about to have one more dance!
Blue: Evelyn-!
Evelyn: Oh come on, it’s tradition! You have to dance with your big Sister!
Blue: We are twins!
Evelyn: Yeah, but I was born first, soooooo I'm the big Sister!
Before Blue could protest further, Evelyn grabbed his hand and pulled him to the dance floor, the upbeat music in full swing. Despite his earlier reluctance, Blue couldn’t help but laugh as Evelyn twirled him around dramatically, fully enjoying herself.
Evelyn: See? Not so bad! We both look ridiculous!
Blue: You're ridiculous!
Evelyn: Yep, but that’s why you love me ;)
As the music continued, Evelyn swayed to the rhythm, and for a moment, Blue forgot about all the weight on his shoulders. It was just him and his twin Sister, enjoying the night like normal teenagers. Even if only for a little while.
When the dance ended, Evelyn let out a content sigh.
Evelyn: That was fun. You’re a pretty good dancer, you know.
Blue: I had to learn while doing it, but I think I'm done for the night.
Evelyn: [Points] Not yet! One more dance with your big Sister!
Blue sighed, but the smile on his face never left.
Blue: Goddammit, fine.
And so, they danced again, under the shimmering lights of the Rave'N, the night filled with laughter and lighthearted moments.
Dracula and Yoko’s dance came to an elegant close, though Yoko seemed visibly tense, her smile barely hiding her unease. Dracula bowed to her politely, his crimson eyes gleaming in the soft light of the ballroom.
Dracula: You danced well
Yoko: Thank you, Professor...
As Dracula glided away to mingle with the other teachers, Yoko lingered by the edge of the dance floor, her thoughts swirling.
Enid, ever observant, noticed Yoko’s distracted expression and approached her with a concerned look.
Enid: Hey, are you okay? You look a little...on edge.
Yoko blinked, surprised to see Enid standing beside her. She quickly shook her head.
Yoko: I’m fine, really. Just....a little tired from all the excitement.
Enid: Hmm, I’m not fully convinced. How about you have a dance with Blue? That might cheer you up!
Yoko’s eyes widened in surprise, and she instinctively shook her head.
Yoko: W-What? No, I can’t. Blue’s your date, Enid. I don’t want to-!
Enid: Don’t worry about it, I told Blue to dance with Wednesday earlier, and then he had dances with Lady Lilith and Professor Medusa. It’s only fair you get a turn too~
Yoko blinked again, caught off guard by Enid’s nonchalance.
Yoko: He danced with Lady Lilith....aaaand Medusa?
Enid: Yep! My boyfriend is quite popular tonight, but that's because it's him!
Yoko hesitated, glancing over at Blue, who was chatting with Evelyn after finishing their sibling dance.
Yoko: I don’t know, Enid. I don’t think I should...
Enid, however, wasn’t about to take no for an answer. With a mischievous glint in her eyes, she grabbed Yoko’s arm and began dragging her toward Blue.
Enid: Come on! It’s just a dance. You deserve to have some fun too!
Before Yoko could protest further, they were standing in front of Blue, who turned to them, slightly confused but smiling nonetheless.
Enid: Blue, Yoko’s going to have a dance with you!
Enid practically pushes Yoko into Blue’s arms. Yoko felt her heart race as she glanced up at Blue, who gave her a friendly smile.
Blue: A dance? That's fine, if Yoko wants to.
Yoko hesitated for a moment, but with Enid’s encouraging nod, she managed a small smile and nodded.
Yoko: Yeah, let’s dance.
As the music shifted to a slower, more mellow tune, Blue and Yoko moved to the dance floor. Blue took her hand gently, and they began swaying to the rhythm of the music.
The atmosphere was calm, the lights dimming softly, creating an intimate mood. But Yoko couldn’t shake the tension that tightened in her chest.
Blue: You okay?
Blue asked softly, noticing her stiffness. His tone was genuinely concerned, his bright blue eyes focused on her. Yoko forced a smile.
Yoko: Yeah, I’m fine. Just...you know, a lot going on tonight.
Blue: I get it. It’s been a pretty wild night, but that's just the Rave'N for you
As they continued to dance, Yoko couldn’t help but glance at Enid, who was chatting with Evelyn nearby, seemingly without a care in the world.
It was hard for Yoko to believe how understanding Enid was, she always had been. Even now, Enid was completely okay with Yoko dancing with her boyfriend, despite the history between them.
In her mind, Yoko was fighting a familiar, painful thought. Ever since last year, she had harbored a crush on Blue. He had been kind to her in ways she hadn’t experienced before.
There was something about his oblivious innocence that made him so different from other people at Nevermore. But before she ever got the chance to confess her feelings, Enid had beaten her to it.
And Blue, being as dense as he was, had accepted Enid’s feelings despite not knowing the true nature of love, leaving Yoko’s own hopes behind.
Still, Yoko never let it show. She hid her feelings well, burying them under layers of smiles and friendship. She respected Enid too much to let her crush interfere with their bond.
But tonight, as she danced with Blue under the soft glow of the Rave'N, those feelings bubbled back up to the surface, even if she didn’t want them to.
Blue: Thank you for the dance, Yoko. I hope you’re enjoying yourself tonight.
Yoko: Yeah, it’s been...nice.
Yoko smiled again, but it didn’t quite reach her eyes. She wanted to say more, but the words got caught in her throat. Instead, they danced in silence for the rest of the song, Yoko letting herself enjoy the moment, even if it was bittersweet.
As the song came to an end, Blue released her hand and gave her a gentle smile.
Blue: You’re a good dancer, we should do this again sometime.
Yoko: Yeah.....maybe.
Blue: Are you.....okay?
Yoko: I'm fine, Blue. Thank you for asking
Blue: Okay, but if something is troubling you, don't hesitate to ask me, I'm a good listener! :D
Yoko giggles and thanks Blue. As they stepped off the dance floor, Yoko glanced at Enid, who waved at her happily. Enid had been watching them, not with jealousy but with a kind, understanding smile.
Yoko’s heart clenched slightly, knowing that while she may have lost the chance to be with Blue, she hadn’t lost the friendship she held so dear. And maybe, for now, that was enough.
The Rave'N had ended, and the grand hall was now quiet as everyone had either left or retired to their dorms for the night. The soft echo of footsteps could be heard as Blue and Enid strolled down the corridors, bathed in the moonlight filtering through the tall windows.
Enid had a content smile on her face, clinging to Blue’s arm, clearly savoring the last moments of the evening.
Enid: I can’t believe how amazing tonight was. I mean, we danced, you danced with everyone practically, and no one even tripped!
Blue: Yeah, I guess I didn’t expect to get pulled into so many dances. But, it was kinda fun. I’m glad I didn’t mess up anyone’s night. That would make me seem like a bad person!
Enid: Well, you’re the centre of attention these days. Can’t blame the girls for wanting a dance with you.....but, I really want to thank you for tonight. You helped Yoko, and you made sure I had a great time.
Blue: Awww come on, it’s no big deal, Enid. I’m glad Yoko’s feeling better too. I didn’t mind dancing with her, though I didn’t think I’d end up dancing with Lilith, Medusa, or Evelyn too. That was...unexpected.
Enid giggled, twirling a strand of her hair.
Enid: Yeah, well, you’re kind of a hot commodity, Blue. Plus, it’s not every day you get to see our dear Lady Lilith twirling on a dance floor.
Blue blinked, his expression a mix of confusion and concern.
Blue: Wait, is it even okay for me to dance with all these girls? I mean, I didn’t really think about it, but.....is it fine? Or is that illegal now?
Enid laughed, rolling her eyes at Blue's innocence.
Enid: Normally, no, but since you're....you, I allowed it. You’re just so....cute and clueless! You don't harm anyone with what you do!
Blue: Except for when I run the ones!
Enid: That's when you show the Demon you
Enid replied with a teasing smile, stopping in her tracks and turning to face him. Blue stopped as well, his confusion deepening when he saw the mischievous glint in her eyes.
Before he could ask what was going on, Enid reached up and grabbed his face, pulling him into a kiss. It was sudden, and Blue’s eyes widened in panic.
Enid had kissed him before, but this was different, this was longer, more intense.
For a moment, Blue’s mind went blank, and all he could hear was the sound of his own heartbeat pounding in his ears. He may be a demon, but this always felt like a obstacle to him.
Blue: Think, Blue, think! Don’t panic, don’t panic! She’s your girlfriend! Just....just go with it?
He awkwardly tried to follow Enid’s lead, his arms wrapping around her waist as he kissed her back. Enid’s soft giggle against his lips made him relax a little, and he felt her melt into his embrace.
Slowly, his panic subsided, replaced by warmth as they found a rhythm together. After what felt like an eternity, Enid pulled away, her cheeks flushed with a happy smile.
Enid: There, not so clueless after all, huh?
Blue, still dazed from the kiss, blinked rapidly as if trying to process what had just happened.
Blue: Um....yeah, I think I figured it out...I think? I still don't know what I'm doing, I just improvise ^_^
Enid: [Laughs] You’re such an idiot, Blue. But you’re my idiot, my cute idiot
Blue: I feel insulted and complimented at the same time
Enid: I call it perfect balance
The two continued walking, now holding hands as they enjoyed the quiet of the empty corridors. It felt like the perfect end to a perfect night....just the two of them, with nothing but each other’s company to worry about.
As they neared the split in the hallway, where Blue would head toward his dorm and Enid toward hers, she gave him one last lingering look.
Enid: You really made tonight special, Blue. I don’t know how you do it, but you always make me feel....happy.
Blue: I'm glad I did, Enid. You make me happy too.
With one final quick kiss on his cheek, Enid giggled and waved.
Enid: Goodnight, Blue. See you tomorrow.
Blue: Nighty Night
As he walked back to his dorm, his mind replayed the evening, and especially that kiss. He wasn’t sure what to make of it all, but one thing was certain...he was definitely going down the right path.
___________________________________
A few days had passed, and Nevermore Academy was buzzing with anticipation for Parent’s Weekend.
Students were preparing for the arrival of their families, and the school grounds had been transformed with decorations, making the usually dark atmosphere feel a bit more welcoming.
Blue and Adam were walking through the main courtyard, discussing their plans for the weekend before they were supposed to meet up with Evelyn, Enid, and Wednesday.
As they made their way through the crowd, they bumped into Professor Prospero. Prospero had a kind but timid demeanor, always fidgeting with the hem of his coat or adjusting his glasses when he spoke to students.
Despite his nerves, his classes were popular, mainly because of his passion for the subject and his willingness to give advice, whether it was about plants or life.
Prospero: Ah! Blue, Adam. Getting ready for Parent's Weekend, I assume?
Blue: Ye, we’re just about to meet up with the others. You looking forward to it, Professor?
Prospero: I suppose so. It’s always...interesting, meeting students’ families. But I do hope it’s a good weekend for all of you.
Adam: Say, Professor, I’ve been wondering....everyone knows you’re a psychic, but what exactly is your ability?
Prospero blinked, clearly caught off guard by the question. He hesitated for a moment, glancing around as if he wasn’t sure whether to share.
Prospero: W-Well, it’s nothing too extraordinary. I have the ability to control minds.
Blue and Adam exchanged surprised looks.
Adam: Wait, you can control minds?
Blue: That's neat!
Prospero smiled nervously, waving his hand dismissively.
Prospero: Oh, it’s not as grand as it sounds. It’s a simple ability, really. I don’t use it often unless it’s absolutely necessary, and even then, only for....harmless things.
Adam: Still, that's cool. I mean, think about it, you could walk into any situation and have everyone do what you want. Which is.....well....kind of bad
Blue: Yeah, but I still think that's an awesome power. And hey, unlike our last Botanical Sciences teacher, you’re a good person!
Adam: And you give us life lessons, too. It’s not just about plants with you.
Prospero: W-Well, I do what I can. But, um, speaking of life lessons...would you like one for the weekend?
Blue: Sure, why not? I need me some motivation
Prospero took a deep breath, his eyes softening as he thought for a moment.
Prospero; Well, with Parent's Weekend upon us, remember that family...whether they are by blood or by choice, can be both a blessing and a challenge. You may not always see eye to eye, but sometimes, what we need most is to listen, even when we don't agree. And...don’t forget to appreciate the small moments, because they can mean more than we realise
Both boys felt a surge of motivation after hearing Prospero’s words.
Adam: That’s some solid advice, Professor
Blue: I feel like I'm the Storm that is approaching.
Prospero; I’m glad. And, well, speaking of abilities, my Brother shares the same mind control power. But...he tends to be a bit more mischievous with it than I am.
Blue: Mischievous? Like, tomfoolery and that?
Prospero: Hahaha, you could say that. Let’s just say he’s used it to get out of some rather tricky situations. He’s....creative.
Adam: Sounds like a fun guy,
Prospero: He was, but I haven't seen him for a while. I don't know what that guy is up to sometimes.
After a few more minutes of light conversation, Prospero excused himself to prepare for future lessons, so Blue and Adam continued on their way.
Eventually, they reached the dorms, where they found Evelyn, Wednesday, and Enid waiting for them. Enid was excitedly chatting with Evelyn about her plans for Parent's Weekend.
Wednesday stood off to the side, her usual deadpan expression in place. When Blue and Adam approached, Enid immediately perked up.
Enid: Finally! You guys took forever!
Blue: Our bad, we got held up by Prospero, we were getting a life lesson.
Evelyn: A life lesson, huh? About what?
Adam: That if there is a hole, there is a goal
Evelyn: Oh shut up! Enough about that. Are you ready for the weekend?
Wednesday’s eyes narrowed slightly, but she said nothing, simply observing. Enid, meanwhile, nodded enthusiastically.
Enid: Totally ready! It’s going to be so much fun!
Evelyn: I just hope you two don’t get into any trouble.
Blue: Please, trouble starts with you, and when have I ever gotten into trouble?
All three girls gave him a pointed look.
Blue:......Say no more
With that, the group set off, ready to face the weekend ahead. But in the back of Blue’s mind, Prospero’s advice lingered, especially when it came to family. He had a feeling that Parent's Weekend might hold more surprises than they were prepared for.
Blue, Evelyn, Adam, Enid, and Wednesday walked together to the front of Nevermore, where the gates had been opened wide for Parent's Weekend.
The excitement in the air was palpable as parents and families streamed in to see their students.
The five friends were taking in the scene when they spotted two familiar figures approaching. Marina and Ingrid had arrived, and so did Darren to Adam's surprise.
Marina waved enthusiastically at her children. Ingrid, on the other hand, was a stark contrast to her. As a ghost like her son Adam, Ingrid maintained a calm, almost cold demeanor.
She was serious, composed, but there was always a deep kindness behind her sharp gaze. Darren brought a different energy entirely, wearing a relaxed smile as he strolled beside his Sister
Evelyn: Mum!
Evelyn rushes over to Marina and wrapped her in a hug. Blue followed behind, smiling as he greeted his Mother.
Marina: Ah, my sweet kids! How’s Nevermore treating you both this time of the year?
Blue: Very good, as expected, still better than my last school!
Adam approached his mother, Ingrid, who gave him a quick nod.
Ingrid: Adam, I trust you’re behaving?
Adam: Mostly. You know that some things happen with those two, chaos and that
Ingrid sighed softly but couldn’t hide the glimmer of amusement in her eyes.
Ingrid: Don't forget that you're still apart of that chaos
Adam: Yeah, that's fair
Darren: The three chaotic brats. Good to see you, Adam. Keeping these two in check, I hope?
Evelyn: It’s more like we’re keeping me in check
Darren: That sounds about right, but you're all crashouts in my opinion.
Blue: We all have a little of that in us
Marina: Enid, Wednesday.
Enid: Hi Mrs Light! Mrs Milan!
Wednesday: Hello Marina, Ingrid
Ingrid: It's good to see you both
Before they could chat any further, the Addams family arrived. Gomez, Morticia, and Pugsley stepped through the gates, looking as regal and dark as ever.
Gomez had his usual grin plastered across his face, while Morticia, elegant as always in her black gown, glided beside him.
Pugsley tagged along with a smile of awe, clearly eager to see what kind of activities that he could partake in these next few days.
The two families greeted each other with a mix of warmth and curiosity. Marina and Ingrid had met Gomez and Morticia before during last year, but this was the first time Darren was being introduced.
Gomez: Marina! Ingrid! Wonderful to see you both again!
His attention then shifted to Darren, and he extended his hand enthusiastically.
Gomez: And you must be.....
Darren: Darren Milan, the younger brother
Gomez: Gomez Addams. Charmed, truly charmed!
Darren: Nice to meet you, Gomez. I’ve heard a lot about you.
Morticia: Ingrid, Marina. It’s always a pleasure to see you both. And you too, Darren. How delightful to meet you.
As the adults exchanged pleasantries, Morticia turned her attention to Blue, Adam, and Evelyn.
Morticia: Ah, our young heroes, how are you all holding up?
Blue: We’re good, Mrs Addams!
Morticia’s eyes softened as she looked at Blue. She had always thought of him as such a sweet, innocent boy, despite his demonic nature. Without hesitation, she stepped forward and wrapped him in a tight hug.
Morticia: Oh, Blue, you’re just as adorable as ever!
Blue, however, was taken by surprise. Morticia’s hug was...firm, and as he was pulled into her embrace, his face ended up squished into her chest. For a moment, Blue's mind raced.
He wasn’t sure if this was some kind of test or maybe an attempt on his life....he couldn’t breathe!
Blue: U-Umm, Is this some kind of assassination technique? Because I don't think I can breathe Q_Q
Adam and Evelyn, meanwhile, exchanged amused looks, although Adam just had one of disappointment because of Blue's density. Evelyn could barely stifle a laugh as she watched her Brother's predicament, and heard what he said.
Wednesday: Mother, he needs to breathe
Morticia, realising what was happening, quickly released Blue, smiling as though nothing was out of the ordinary.
Morticia: Oh, of course. Apologies, Blue
Blue took a deep breath once he was free and laughs.
Blue: No worries, Mrs Addams. All good.
Wednesday shot Blue a knowing look, her expression unreadable but tinged with something that might’ve been amusement.
Wednesday: You survived. Impressive.
Blue: Wait, that's an achievement? Say less!
Pugsley: I think Blue’s tougher than he looks.
Blue: Thanks, Little Man!
Pugsley: [Gasps] A nickname!
As the two families continued their conversations, the students began to drift away from the adults, heading off to explore the various events and activities set up for Parent’s Weekend.
Blue, still recovering from Morticia’s enthusiastic hug, walked beside Enid, Evelyn, and Adam, ready to see what else the weekend had in store.
The Nevermore quad was filled with activity as parents and students mingled, sharing stories, laughter, and warmth under the early afternoon sun.
Blue, along with Evelyn and Adam, made their way to a corner of the quad where Marina had just finished a conversation with Enid’s parents.
Esther: Now that's a face I haven't seen a while. Hello Blue, how are you? It’s always wonderful to see the boy who’s been bringing out the best in my Enid.
Blue: I mean, I thought she was already her best self
Enid: Awww, how cute of you to say!
Esther: Indeed, you truly are a model lover!
Marina greeted Esther warmly, having already forged a friendship with her Family's visit to the UK.
Marina: Esther, it’s so good to see you again, how’s everything going with Enid?
Esther: Much better, thanks to you. Your advice has been invaluable.
Marina had been giving Esther advice on how to better understand and communicate with Enid. The two Mothers shared a moment of understanding, both grateful for the growth in their children’s lives.
Nearby, Yoko stood with her parents. Her father was engaged in a lively conversation with Dracula.
Kenichi: Vlad, it’s been a while, I still remember when you handed me that award. An honor, truly.
Dracula, dressed sharply as always, gave a polite nod, a glint of nostalgia in his eyes.
Dracula: Ah, come on Kenichi, we met in the summer for that. But yes, you’ve done incredible work for the outcast community.
Despite her father's clear fondness for Dracula, Yoko seemed tense, her posture stiff as she stood by. The source of her discomfort was still unknown.
But it hadn’t gone unnoticed by Enid, who shot her a worried glance from across the courtyard. She was determined to figure out what was troubling her friend, but for now, she kept her distance, giving Yoko space.
Meanwhile, Ingrid and Darren were with Adam, their expressions curious as they probed him about his studies.
Ingrid: So, how are you? Anything new with your ghost abilities? Last time we spoke, you were still phasing through walls.
Adam: That’s old news now. Dracula’s been helping me, and now I can also turn invisible. I can even float...well, a little.
He demonstrated by hovering an inch off the ground for a few seconds before landing unsteadily.
Darren: Oi, not bad kid
Ingrid, ever the stoic, allowed herself a small smile.
Ingrid: I'm proud of you, but keep improving
Adam: I will
Adam’s chest swelled with pride as his Mother and Uncle shared their approval. His abilities were growing, and for the first time, he felt he was truly mastering the gifts he had struggled with for years.
Marina, now seated with Blue and Evelyn, focused on her two children. She spoke with the calm, warm tone she always used, but there was a hidden worry beneath it.
Marina: Are you both doing well?
Her gaze was on both of them, but it lingered a little longer on Blue. Evelyn rolled her eyes in a good-natured way.
Evelyn: Mother, you’re always worrying. We’re fine.
Marina sighed softly, her hand resting on Blue’s arm.
Marina: I know, but I have every reason to worry. Especially about you, Blue.
Blue met his Mother’s eyes, understanding what she meant. His Father, being a legend in his own right, made him a powerful figure among their kind.
But his passing had left a mark not only on their family but on Blue, too. It made him a target, one with immense potential, and potential danger.
Blue: I get it, Mother. But I’ve been training. I’m getting stronger.
Marina: And Lady Lilith’s been working with you?
Blue: Ye, she’s helped me control my blue flames better. I’m not losing control as much anymore. And I’m getting faster and stronger because of it.
Evelyn: He has gone through his winter arc!
Blue: Before, I could beat most people in a fistfight, but I couldn't use the flames at a decent level, it would always make me lose it. The power boost was great, but it came with a cost....I couldn’t think straight. Now, though, I'm starting to control it. I’m not just stronger; I’m learning how to deal with anyone who tries to come at me.
Evelyn: He’s a lot more focused now, in a way. Not that he wasn’t dangerous before....but now he’s a real problem for anyone who thinks they can mess with him!
Marina’s gaze softened as she looked at her children.
Marina: I’m proud of both of you. Your Father would be, too.
Blue smiled, appreciating his mother’s words but also feeling the weight of the legacy left behind by their Father. Since his Mother is a Psychic, it meant Evelyn was one as well.
He....was the Demon Child, so everything tends to fall on him. He knew there were still challenges ahead, but he wasn’t afraid.
He was ready to face whatever came next, he may be a passive boy at times, but whenever it was time to throw hands, he will do it.
And with his friends, family, and Lady Lilith guiding him, Blue knew he could handle whatever threats the future might hold.
No matter how worried his Mother was.
In a quiet corner of the quad, Wednesday stood with her family. Gomez, Morticia, Pugsley, and of course, Thing, perched on her shoulder.
The familiar sight of her parents, with their elegant yet eerie presence, always brought a sense of home, but today, Wednesday felt a mix of emotions.
She knew that this would be a conversation where she had to be careful, especially with her recent excursions into the Old Horn.
Gomez, his usual exuberance shining through, grinned at his daughter.
Gomez: Wednesday, my little storm cloud! Please, tells us how have you been? Keeping up with your studies, I hope?
Wednesday: Of course. I wouldn’t allow myself to fall behind, despite my dislike for education here.
Morticia: And what of your.....social life, darling? Made any new friends? Anyone you find....intriguing? Maybe someone from last year?
There was a subtle undertone in her voice, her words carefully chosen as she raised an eyebrow, glancing briefly toward Blue, who was talking to his family not far away.
Pugsley: Have you had any new adventures this year, Wednesday? Anything cool? Like....any monsters? Maybe another Hyde?
Wednesday: There are always interesting things happening at Nevermore. But nothing I can’t handle.
Gomez: [Chuckles] That’s my girl. Always prepared for anything. You must have had plenty of excitement, especially with the company you’ve been keeping.
Wednesday narrowed her eyes slightly, sensing where this conversation was heading.
Wednesday: What exactly are you implying?
Gomez waved his hand casually, but the mischievous glint in his eye remained.
Gomez: Oh, you know....Blue. Everytime we see him, he is just more and more fascinating. A demon in this world is so rare.
Pugsley: Yeah, I heard he's really strong, too! He told me that he beat up the Hyde last year! Can he also shoot fire from his hands or something?
Morticia’s lips curved into a knowing smile.
Morticia: Yes, I must say, your Father and I are quite interested in your friendship with Blue. It's been some time now, and we can see that it's a rare bond, wouldn’t you say? Demons have always been so....elusive, and while Blue isn't exactly like that, he has a hint of it somewhere.
Wednesday’s expression remained unreadable, though inwardly, she felt a familiar annoyance. The fascination everyone seemed to have with Blue was growing tiresome.
He was just a boy....a powerful boy, yes, but still just a boy. And yet, there was something about him that had lingered in the back of her mind ever since they met last year.
Something that unsettled her in a way she wasn’t used to. She couldn’t quite place it. His demonic nature was part of it, certainly, but it was more than that.
He was infuriatingly kind, protective, and always seemed to be at the center of things, yet blissfully unaware of his own impact on those around him.
Wednesday didn’t care for such emotions, but something about him...caught her attention, and she found herself involuntarily drawn to his strange, clueless charm.
Still, that wasn’t something she’d ever admit, not even to herself. Morticia’s soft, knowing voice cut through her thoughts.
Morticia: You seem...distant, my dear. Is there something on your mind? You know you can tell us anything.
Wednesday’s gaze flickered briefly toward the dark trees in the distance, where the Old Horn was hidden deep in the forest. She had made the one trip to it, intrigued by its presence and the demon, Veles, that resided within.
But she couldn’t tell them about that. If her parents knew she was delving into such dangerous territory, especially involving demons, they would certainly panic...or worse, try to intervene.
Wednesday: Everything is fine, there’s nothing to be concerned about.
Thing, perched on her shoulder, tapped her neck gently as if to remind her that he, too, knew more than he let on. But even he didn't know about the matter of the Old Horn.
Gomez, sensing that Wednesday wasn’t about to reveal anything more, laughed heartily.
Gomez: That’s my girl. Always in control, always mysterious. I can’t wait to see what more adventures await you.
Morticia: And Blue? Will he be part of those future adventures, perhaps? Like last year?
Wednesday’s eyes narrowed ever so slightly, though she kept her voice calm.
Wednesday: He’s....a friend. Nothing more. I don't need him all the time
But even as she said it, there was a brief flicker of doubt in her mind. What was it about Blue that kept her from pushing him away completely?
He was, as she constantly reminded herself, just a boy. But there was something else...something she wasn’t ready to confront yet.
I mean...she did pick him to help her last year with the Hyde. Morticia smiled knowingly, though she didn’t press the matter further.
Morticia: As you say, my dear. As you say.
The conversation shifted, Gomez and Pugsley going on about the latest Addams family antics, but Wednesday’s mind remained elsewhere.
She had kept her secret about the Old Horn, for now, and she intended to continue her investigations there. Whatever Veles had to offer, she would learn it on her own terms, away from the prying eyes of her parents....or Blue.
But as much as she told herself that she didn’t care about their opinions, a small part of her wondered what they would think if they knew the truth.
For now, though, she would keep her distance, her cold, calculated demeanor intact. There were things she needed to do, and she would handle them the way she always did....alone.
As the warm, late afternoon sun began to set behind the Gothic towers of Nevermore, Marina found herself seeking out Lady Lilith.
The two women walked a short distance away from the bustling quad, where parents and students were still mingling, and spoke in hushed tones.
Their expressions, though calm, carried the weight of something far more serious than the festive atmosphere of Parent's Weekend suggested. Marina, with a slight tremor in her voice, broke the silence.
Marina: I wanted to ask you, Lilith....have Blue or Evelyn approached the Old Horn? Have they gone anywhere near it?
Lilith: No, Marina. Both of your children have not ventured there...yet.
Her tone was measured, but there was an edge to it, one that suggested there were greater concerns at play.
Lilith: Blue got close, but I prevented him, and he hasn't tried it again
Marina sighed in relief, her shoulders relaxing just a little.
Marina: That's...that's good. I’ve done my best to keep them away from anything dangerous. Blue’s abilities are still developing, and Evelyn...well, she’s strong-willed, but I’d rather not have either of them tangled in anything too serious. Not yet.
Lilith’s expression didn’t soften. Instead, she watched Marina carefully, her words deliberate.
Lilith: Yes, it is fortunate for now. But you do realise that this respite is temporary? Once the other Old Horns begin to shift and activate, things will be far beyond your control.
Marina: The Old Horns.....I remember reading about them when I was younger, and then Luci told me all about them during our time together. It’s an ancient power...darker than most can comprehend. But Blue....he’s still just a boy, Lilith. He’s not ready to combat demons like that.
Lilith: He may still be young, but Blue is no ordinary boy. His potential is extraordinary, and his demonic lineage makes him one of the few capable of truly withstanding what’s to come. The Old Horns are not just relics....they are prisons. And once those demons are unleashed, Blue will be needed.
Marina: I know, Lilith. But that doesn't make it any easier to accept. I've already lost Lupercio....I don’t want to lose my Son too.
Lilith: You are not powerless, Marina. You can watch over him, guide him, as you have been doing. But you must also understand that his fate is not something you can shield him from forever. Demons like us….we are born with a purpose. And whether Blue likes it or not, he will have to face his.
Marina lowered her gaze, nodding quietly. She knew Lilith was right. She had always known this, deep down, but hearing it from someone as ancient and powerful as Lilith made it all the more real.
Blue, for all his innocence and cluelessness, was destined for something far greater and far more dangerous than she had ever hoped.
And Evelyn…though her path was less clear, she would be pulled into it as well. She is his Twin, and those two alongside Adam were inseparable.
Marina: I will watch over him, and I will do everything I can to make sure he’s ready when the time comes. But...please, Lilith, keep him safe while he’s here at Nevermore.
Lilith: I will do what I can, Marina. But you must understand...some battles cannot be avoided. Only prepared for.
Marina took a deep breath, her worry not entirely eased, but she knew she had to trust in her children’s strength.
Marina: Yes....I suppose you're right. Thank you.
Lilith: You’ve raised strong children, Marina. They will not face what’s coming alone. And neither will you
Lilith gave her a slight, knowing smile. Marina smiled back, but weakly, feeling a bit of comfort in Lilith’s words.
Marina: I hope so.
Lilith: That's all we can do sometimes when things get out of hand....also Luci?~
Marina: He hated it, just to let you know, said it was too feminine
Lilith: Should've changed his name
Marina: Aha, perhaps....but it's too cute for me.
With that, the two women parted ways, Marina heading back toward her children. Her mind was swirling with thoughts of the Old Horns, Blue’s future, and the demons that were stirring beneath the surface of their world.
She knew that whatever peace they had now was fleeting, and soon, her children....especially Blue, would be drawn into a fight far greater than anything they’d faced before.
But for now, she would cherish the calm before the storm, watching over them as best she could, and preparing for what was inevitable.

As the night descended upon the dense, shadowy forest surrounding Nevermore, the stillness was interrupted by the laughter of two female students who had snuck out, eager for some late-night fun.
The cool breeze carried the sound of rustling leaves as they ventured deeper into the woods, unaware of the danger lurking nearby.
Suddenly, a figure clad in black appeared from the darkness, silent and imposing. The two girls froze, their playful chatter dying in their throats as the figure approached.
His face was obscured, his movements unnervingly calm. Before they could react, the stranger's eyes gleamed, and in an instant, both students felt an unnatural force overtaking their minds.
It was as if invisible strings were pulling them, erasing their thoughts and replacing them with obedience. Without a word, the figure motioned for them to follow.
Their eyes glazed over, they obeyed without resistance, vanishing into the depths of the forest under the mysterious figure’s control. He led them away to a place hidden from sight, their fates sealed, though his identity remained concealed.

The next day dawned, bringing with it the second day of Parent’s Weekend. Yet an unsettling tension hung over Nevermore Academy. By morning, rumors had already begun to swirl.
Whispers of more missing students reached the ears of anxious parents and curious students alike.
When Lady Lilith called for an emergency assembly in the Quad, the entire school, including the visiting parents, gathered. The early morning air felt heavy with uncertainty as Lilith stood before them, her presence commanding attention.
Yet even her stoic expression couldn’t hide the gravity of the situation.
Lilith: Students, parents, it is with great concern that I must inform you of a troubling development. As of last night, a total of seven students have gone missing from Nevermore Academy.
Gasps rippled through the crowd, parents exchanging nervous glances, and students whispering to one another in shock. The parents of the missing students looked horrified, clinging to hope as they watched Lady Lilith, trusting in her leadership.
Lilith: We are currently investigating these disappearances, but rest assured, everything is being done to ensure the safety of our students and the return of those who are missing. We will be enforcing stricter curfew policies, and no student is to be outside the grounds after dark without direct supervision.
The weight of the news settled like a dark cloud over the assembly. While many trusted Lady Lilith, there was no denying the fear creeping into their hearts.
Parents were worried, students were anxious, and the usual lively atmosphere of Nevermore had turned tense.
As the assembly dispersed, Blue and Evelyn exchanged a worried glance, both recalling the missing poster they had seen just a few days ago. That was only the beginning...now, six more students had vanished.
The pieces of the puzzle were slowly falling into place, but they still had no idea who was behind it or why. Adam noticed his cousins’ uneasy expressions as they lingered behind, away from the crowd.
Adam: You two look like you know something
Blue and Evelyn shared a quick look before Blue spoke up.
Blue: We saw a missing poster a few days ago. A boy from Nevermore went missing before all this started. We thought maybe he ran off, but...now it feels like something more.
Adam: And you didn’t think to mention it before?
Evelyn: We didn’t think it was connected at the time. Now, though....seven students missing? This isn’t some coincidence, some creepy clown is kidnapping people to sell on the black market! Or.....something like that
Adam glanced back toward the dispersing crowd, lowering his voice.
Adam: At least we know that something’s wrong. If students are disappearing and no one’s seen a trace of them, it could mean....
Blue: Someone is taking them, and we don’t know who or why.
Evelyn: That's what I just said! It was a clown! Probably Pennywise!
They stood in silence for a moment, the realisation sinking in that something dark was brewing beneath the surface at Nevermore. Whatever it was, they couldn’t ignore it any longer.
They needed to find out what was happening before more students vanished......
