Chapter 42: Rave'N 2: Girlfriend Edition

Megan: Blue...will you stay with me?

Blue: Well, I can't stay....but I will try my best to visit you on some days, is that fine?

Megan: It is....acceptable

Enid smiled softly, her heart swelling with pride for Blue's compassion.

Enid: We'll all help you, Megan. You're not alone in this world

Evelyn: This cold, dark world. But yeah, we can link up and do some things.

Megan: Thank you, everyone

The group stood together in the hospital lobby, relief on their faces as they managed to get past a strange but difficult period of time.

For now, they had found a fragile peace, a starting point to help the AI girl known as Megan, find her place in their world.

Blue: Well, time to go back before we get into trouble

Evelyn: And make it double

Blue, Adam, Evelyn, Enid, Thing, and Eugene made their way back to Nevermore Academy under the cover of night. The group was tired, but there was a sense of relief that things with Megan had calmed down, at least for now.

As they approached the gothic spires of the academy, they found Wednesday sitting on the stone steps near the entrance. Her arms were crossed, her expression unreadable as usual.

Blue, still rattled from everything that had happened, was the first to speak.

Blue: Oh, Wednesday, where have you been? We haven’t seen you for a while

Wednesday: I was handling my own affairs, not everything is worth sharing.

Enid huffed slightly but didn’t push further, knowing from experience that Wednesday rarely explained herself.

Enid: Fine, but you missed quite the adventure.

Without another word, Wednesday rose and glided past them into the academy. The others exchanged tired glances and decided to leave it at that. They were all exhausted and needed rest.

Over the next few weeks, life at Nevermore slowly returned to its strange version of normal. Megan remained at Lennon's shop under his supervision, and the group focused on their classes and routines.

The looming event that began to consume everyone's thoughts was the Rave'N, which excited them all. As the day of the Rave'N approached, everyone was either scrambling to find something to wear or searching for a partner to take.

The school buzzed with excitement, and even Enid, with her usual enthusiasm, couldn’t contain her glee. She had been talking non-stop about outfits, music, and decorations.

Blue, still as clueless as ever when it came to love, knew one thing for certain: he was going to the Rave'N with Enid. It wasn’t even a question anymore, not since they had started officially dating after everything they had been through together.

Despite the growing excitement for the dance, Blue found himself back at Lennon's workshop the day before the Rave'N. He stood amidst the many tools and machinery owned by Lennon, while talking to mentioned inventor and Megan.

Lennon was tinkering with a small device, his attention split between the conversation and his work. Megan sat nearby, her expression distant.

She had been more reserved lately, trying to come to terms with everything that had happened between her and Blue. There was a quiet tension in the air, though Blue didn’t fully understand it.

Blue: So, tomorrow's the Rave'N, should be aight

Lennon: I heard. Big event, isn't it? You and Enid are going together?

Blue: Yep, I mean, we're together now, so...it makes sense.

Megan: You're going with Enid?

Blue: Ye, it’s what people do, right? When they're together like that

There was a pause, and then Megan spoke again, her voice tinged with something Blue couldn’t quite place.

Megan: I understand. You two are in a relationship now. That’s....good for you.

Blue: Ye!

Lennon, being more perceptive than Blue, noticed the shift in Megan's demeanor. He paused his tinkering and glanced at her with a knowing look.

Lennon: Megan, you know it’s not a good idea for you to go to an event like that, right?

Megan: I know, I can’t go. It’s not safe for me, or for them.

Blue: Megan, it's not like I don't want you to come, but....

Megan: I know, I know you want to help me, Blue. And I want to be near you, but I also know that things aren’t....simple. Not for someone like me.

Blue: I’m sorry, Megan. But one day, you'll get to enjoy these social things

Megan offered a small, strained smile.

Megan: You don't need to be sorry. I want you to have fun at the Rave'N with Enid. She deserves it. And so do you.

Blue stood there awkwardly, unsure how to respond. Lennon gave him a look, one that seemed to tell him to not worry. Megan turned her attention back to the array of devices on the workbench.

Megan: Go enjoy yourself, Blue. I’ll be fine here.

Blue gave her a small smile, though something in the back of his mind told him this conversation wasn’t as simple as he thought.

Blue: Thank you, Megan. We’ll talk after the dance.

As Blue left the shop and headed back to Nevermore to get ready for the Rave'N, Lennon watched Megan carefully. She remained quiet, her eyes fixed on the workbench, but there was a tension in her posture.

Lennon: You know this is for the best, right?

Megan nodded, though her voice was barely above a whisper.

Megan: I know. But it doesn’t mean it hurts any less.

Lennon: You’re learning what it means to care for someone. That’s...part of it.

Megan said nothing, her thoughts lingering on Blue and the Rave'N that he would be attending without her.

Later that evening, Blue, Adam, and Thing gathered in a secluded corner of Nevermore, away from the other students who were busy preparing for the Rave'N.

The atmosphere was quieter than usual, with most of their friends busy with their own preparations.

Adam leaned against the stone wall, arms crossed, while Thing sat on a nearby table, his fingers tapping out a soft rhythm as if in thought. Blue spoke first, breaking the silence.

Blue: Have you noticed Wednesday acting.....weird lately?

Adam: Weird? She’s always weird, Blue. You’ll have to be more specific.

Blue: Ah, my bad. I mean....more....distant than usual. Ever since before Megan went off the rails, she’s been...different. Do you know what could be wrong?

Adam: Oh yeah, I’ve noticed too. She’s definitely hiding something, and with Wednesday, that could mean trouble. Probably something bad.

Thing, perched on the table, began signing rapidly with his fingers. Blue and Adam watched as he expressed his own frustration.

Thing: Not even I know what’s going on

Blue: [Frowns] Not even you? Damn...that’s serious. I think I should talk to her.

Adam: Say less, you go talk to her, try to figure out what’s going on. I’ll handle our suits for tomorrow night.

Blue: Say no more, my G!

With that, Blue left Adam and Thing behind and made his way through the dark hallways of Nevermore, searching for Wednesday. He knew she was often in her dorm room or lurking in more shadowy corners, away from the crowds of students.

After a bit of searching, he finally found her in the courtyard, sitting beneath a massive tree, her usual unreadable expression on her face.

Blue: Heyo, Wednesday!

Wednesday glanced up at him, her gaze cool and sharp.

Wednesday: Blue, what do you want?

Blue: I, uh....I've noticed that something’s off with you lately. You’ve been distant, even more than usual so uhhhh.....is everything okay?

Wednesday: There’s......nothing to be concerned about, Blue.

Blue: But-!

Wednesday: I assure you, whatever you think you’ve noticed is irrelevant.

Blue, though often dense, wasn’t entirely oblivious this time.

Blue: I don’t know, Wednesday. I feel like you’re hiding something. And I know you well enough to know when something’s up.

Wednesday tilted her head slightly, her dark eyes studying him with an unnerving intensity.

Wednesday: Your concern is misplaced, Blue.

She was trying to bait him away from the topic, but Blue, ever trusting and perhaps a bit too oblivious, didn’t realise it. He frowned but nodded slowly, accepting her words at face value.

Blue:....Okay, as long as you're fine. But...are you going to the Rave'N tomorrow?

Wednesday: Are you asking me to go with you?

Blue: What? Oh, no. I’m going with Enid.

Wednesday: Ah, of course

Blue shifted awkwardly, feeling the weight of the conversation slipping into Wednesday’s control.

Blue: Right...well, I’ll save you a dance if you want it.

Wednesday:.....I’ll think about that offer

Blue: Neat, are you going to wear that dress from last year?

Wednesday: Of course, I'd take it over any of Enid’s suggestions for outfits.

Blue: Hahaha, too true

They stood in silence for a moment, and Blue felt a strange sense of unease lingering in the back of his mind, but he couldn’t quite place it. Wednesday was acting normal....or at least, as normal as she ever did. But still, something felt...off.

Blue: Well, I guess I’ll see you later then

Wednesday: Yes, now go

Blue turned and walked away, the feeling of unease still clinging to him, though he couldn’t pinpoint why. He trusted Wednesday, but deep down, he knew she wasn’t telling him everything.

As he made his way back to his dorm room, he wondered if there was something darker at play....something he couldn’t see yet.

Meanwhile, Wednesday remained beneath the tree, her mind turning over her own secret plans. Whatever she was hiding, it was something she intended to keep to herself for now.

And as Blue disappeared out of her sight, Wednesday’s gaze followed him, her expression as cold and unreadable as ever.

Wednesday: Oblivious as always....

As Wednesday walked away from her brief conversation with Blue, her thoughts began to drift to the secrets she was keeping, the ones she couldn't afford to reveal.

Her eyes narrowed slightly as she glanced toward the distant silhouette of the Old Horn, a menacing structure deep in the forest that had been drawing her curiosity ever since it emerged from the ground at the beginning of the year.

Wednesday: If Blue finds out that I went inside the Old Horn and talked to Veles, he will be upset and concerned

Wednesday thought to herself, her dark eyes narrowing as she imagined Blue’s reaction. Veles, the demon hiding inside the Old Horn, had been weakened, but even in his state, he intrigued her.

He was a puzzle, one she was determined to solve, despite the potential dangers. The Old Horn itself was an ancient, towering spire of a black material, an artifact of some dark, forgotten magic, and Wednesday had been drawn to it like a moth to a flame.

Ever since it surfaced, she had been unable to resist its pull.

Wednesday: My first year was centered around the Hyde. And now my second year seems to revolve around these demonic structures. Of course, I would investigate this. It’s only natural. And since Veles is injured, he doesn’t pose a threat to me, even if he promises to not harm me at all

A slight smirk tugged at the corner of her mouth. He had information, valuable information, and Wednesday intended to extract as much as she could from him.

This was her only chance to know more about the Outcast Race that intrigued her the most.

She cast one last look toward the Old Horn as she made her way to her next lesson, her black boots tapping softly on the stone floor of Nevermore’s halls.

Wednesday: Perhaps I can use Veles one day, but I have to ensure Blue....and especially Lady Lilith, never find out about him.

With that, she slipped into her classroom, her mind still turning over her secret dealings as she prepared for the day ahead.

Later on in the day, the sun was high, and the Nevermore campus was alive with activity. In a wide, grassy field just beyond the school grounds, Blue, Adam, Evelyn, Ajax, Xavier, Eugene, and Bianca had gathered to play a game of football, at Blue's insistence.

Ajax scratched his head, confusion clear on his face as Blue explained the basics.

Ajax: So wait, it’s not called soccer?

Blue: Big man ting, yeah? You use your foot on a ball, of course it’s not called soccer.

Bianca: Makes sense.

Yoko: And this sport is popular in England?

Adam: Not just England, most of the world. Football is everywhere, it's like a religion to some of us

Xavier, looking a bit skeptical, tilted his head.

Xavier: I don’t get it. It’s just kicking a ball around, right? Doesn’t seem too hard, and honestly....not that interesting.

At this, Blue deadpanned, staring at Xavier as if he had just committed a grave offense. Without saying a word, Blue positioned himself with the ball and took a few steps back.

With a quick, practiced motion, he kicked the ball with precision and power, sending it flying into the top corner of the goal with a beautiful curve.

The ball spun as it arced through the air, landing in the net with a satisfying thud. The others stood there, stunned, and Xavier’s jaw dropped.

Xavier: How did you do that?! Where are the physics in that?!

Ajax: I get that you're part of the Demon Race, but that looked.....impossible!

Blue: Hah! Please! There are normal humans out there who can do stuff better than me, so don’t doubt football. It’s more than just kicking a ball.

Evelyn, standing next to Adam, smiled as she watched her Brother passionately defend his favorite sport.

Evelyn: He’s so passionate about it, isn’t he?

Adam: I mean, we both are. You’ve seen us go crazy whenever our favorite team wins....or lose

Evelyn: Yep. That I have. It's like watching a bunch of animals get aggressive

Adam: Well screw you too

Blue’s enthusiasm for football was infectious, and even though some of the others weren’t entirely convinced, they couldn’t help but get caught up in his energy.

As the game went on, Blue continued to showcase his skills, and soon enough, everyone was running around, trying to keep up with him and Adam.

Even Xavier, despite his earlier doubts, found himself enjoying the challenge. For a while, the worries and mysteries of Nevermore, such as the Old Horn, Veles, and even Wednesday’s strange behavior....it all faded into the background.

It was just them, the ball, and the feeling of the sun on their faces as they laughed and played together.

But for Blue, in the back of his mind, there was still the nagging feeling that something was lurking beneath the surface....something dark that would eventually come to light.

And while today was for football, fun, and friends, he knew the mysteries of Nevermore were far from over.

As the moon hung high over Nevermore, a lone student walked cautiously through the darkened halls, trying his best to stay unnoticed. The air was cool, the wind rustling the trees outside, and the student knew he was past curfew.

He glanced nervously over his shoulder every few seconds, ears straining for any hint of approaching footsteps. Getting caught by Lady Lilith or any of the other staff would mean serious trouble.

But then, just as he turned a corner near the forest’s edge, he froze. He heard movement behind him....soft, but distinct enough to send a chill down his spine. The student whipped around, but the path was empty.

His heart raced in his chest as he scanned the shadows. Before he could react, a figure dressed in all black emerged from the darkness. The attacker moved with eerie silence, blending into the night.

The student opened his mouth to scream, but the moment he locked eyes with the figure, everything changed. His voice caught in his throat, and his body froze.

A wave of calm washed over him, as if some invisible force had taken control of his mind.

The figure’s voice was low and commanding, barely more than a whisper.

???: Follow me.

The student, unable to resist, nodded slowly and began walking. His feet moved mechanically, his will no longer his own. The figure turned and disappeared into the trees, the student following closely behind without question.

The next day, the bright sunlight filtered through the clouds as Blue and Evelyn strolled through the streets of Jericho, their conversation light and playful.

They had been enjoying a rare break from the mysteries of Nevermore, with the Rave’N later on today.

Evelyn: You know, it's kind of funny how you've got a date now, Mr Clueless, and I don't.

Blue: Haha....no one asked you?

Evelyn smirked, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear.

Evelyn: Well, Xavier did.

Blue: Wait, really?

Evelyn: Oh yeah, but I told him no. You should have seen his face, it was hilarious!

There was a mischievous glint in Evelyn's eyes, and Blue sighed, shaking his head with mock disapproval.

Blue: Wooooow, Evelyn. That’s cold.

Evelyn: Oh, shut it, you. I’m not interested in going with anyone. I just want to hang out with my friends!

As they continued walking, something caught their attention. It was a row of missing persons posters taped to a bulletin board near the town square. Blue stopped mid-step, his eyes scanning the familiar face.

It was a Nevermore student. The same one who had been walking around past curfew the night before.

Evelyn: Isn't that...?

Blue: Yeah, it’s that guy, I saw him yesterday actually.

Evelyn crossed her arms, tilting her head as she studied the poster.

Evelyn: You think he got a detention with Lady Lilith or Dracula? Maybe he’s just trying to avoid more trouble by hiding out.

Blue: If he did, he'd be in even more trouble for not showing up. Dracula is no joke when it comes to punishment.

Evelyn: Wow, sucks to be him.

Blue: You tried to do the same thing last month. Peaced out after curfew, remember?

Evelyn’s face flushed as she turned away, feigning nonchalance.

Evelyn: S-Shut up! That was different!

Blue couldn’t help but laugh at his Sister’s flustered reaction, but his smile faded slightly as he glanced back at the missing poster. Something about the situation didn’t sit right with him.

Nevermore students rarely ran away without some sort of warning, and this kid had never seemed the rebellious type.

Blue: Do you think we should tell someone?

Evelyn: Maybe, but it could just be him blowing off steam. We’ll probably see him back at Nevermore later, hiding in the library or something.

But as they walked away, both Blue and Evelyn couldn’t shake the uneasy feeling that something darker might be at play.

As night fell and the Rave'N approached, the halls of Nevermore buzzed with excitement. The anticipation was electric, and the sound of students getting ready for the big night echoed through the dorms.

Blue stood outside Enid’s room, dressed in a sharp black suit. He looked down at his trainers, because shoes that match with suits were a pain to wear.

After a few moments, the door to Enid’s room swung open, Enid was wearing a shimmering silver dress that seemed to sparkle with every movement. Her hair was styled in loose waves, and her excitement was evident as she smiled at Blue.

Enid: Oh my gosh, Blue! I just love the Rave'N so much, but I think I love it even more this year because I get to go with you officially!

Blue: You're right, by the way, you look...amazing, Enid.

Enid giggled, looping her arm through his.

Enid: You’re so cute and clueless sometimes, you know that?

Blue: Eh? What did I even do?

Before Enid could respond, Wednesday emerged from the dorm room, dressed in her iconic black gown from last year’s Rave'N.

Her dress flowed elegantly behind her, matching her stoic demeanor. She raised an eyebrow at Enid’s rambling.

Wednesday: Enid, if you gush any more, I fear you’ll make Blue spontaneously combust

Enid: Oh, come on, Wednesday. It’s a big night! Let me have my moment!

As they exchanged words of banter....in a way, Evelyn appeared next, dressed in a sleek, midnight blue gown that complemented her striking features. She looked over at Blue and Enid, smirking as she approached.

Evelyn: You two ready to go? I mean, we can’t keep the Rave'N waiting, can we?

Blue: Who are we? The main characters?

Evelyn: You definitely are!

The four of them walked together through the dimly lit halls of Nevermore, heading toward the main hall where the Rave'N was taking place.

The atmosphere was full of excitement, the rhythmic thrum of music already pulsing faintly from within the venue.

Blue was, of course, with Enid, her arm still looped around his as she chattered away about the decorations and how the Rave'N theme this year was perfect.

Despite her excitement, Blue could see how much she was enjoying just being there with him, and it made him smile.

Evelyn, on the other hand, walked beside Wednesday, who remained as stoic and unreadable as ever. Adam followed close by, offering Evelyn and Wednesday the occasional sarcastic comment to break the silence.

Xavier was with Bianca, who looked stunning in a flowing emerald gown. They moved ahead of the others, their relationship somewhat tense but united for the night.

Ajax, looking as laid-back as ever, followed behind them, his easygoing nature balancing out the tension between Xavier and Bianca.

As they entered the main hall, it was transformed into a shimmering spectacle of lights, dark colors, and elegant decor. The floor was filled with students already dancing, chatting, and enjoying the festivities.

Standing awkwardly by himself was Eugene, dressed in a nice suit but looking slightly out of place. He was surveying the room, unsure where to go or who to approach.

He seemed content enough, but that didn’t last long, as Evelyn spotted him almost immediately. With a smirk, Evelyn strode over, grabbed Eugene by the arm, and dragged him over to her group.

Evelyn: You’re not standing by yourself tonight, you’re part of our group now! Bee boi!

Eugene: O-Oh, uh, thanks, Evelyn.

Wednesday gave him a nod of acknowledgment, and the group gathered around, everyone finding their place for the night.

As the music began, the evening truly began. Blue glanced around at his friends, he had Enid by his side, Evelyn and Adam were laughing together.

Wednesday was standing quietly in the shadows as always, and Eugene now comfortably part of the group.

For a moment, the strange mysteries of Nevermore seemed distant, and they were just a group of friends enjoying a night out. Blue couldn’t help but smile. The Rave'N had only just begun.

The music in the hall shifted to a slower, more melodic tune, and Enid grabbed Blue’s hand, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

Enid: Come on, let's dance!

Blue: Brazilian Double Jumps.....

Enid pulls Blue onto the dance floor, and although not the most graceful, smiled as he let her lead. The two swayed together, surrounded by other couples, but for Enid, it felt like they were the only two in the room.

She gazed up at him, a bright smile lighting up her face.

Enid: I can’t believe this is happening, dancing at the Rave'N...with you

Blue: I mean, we're together, right? It only makes sense, yeah?

Enid laughed, her heart fluttering as she squeezed his hand.

Enid: Yeah, but you’re still clueless sometimes. That’s one of the things I love about you.

Blue laughs softly, the warmth of the moment settling in. Despite his usual obliviousness, he could feel how much this meant to Enid. He wasn’t great at dancing, but he wanted to make sure she enjoyed every second of it.

As they moved together, Evelyn was watching from the sidelines, her gaze bouncing between the couples on the floor.

Evelyn: Alright, enough standing around!

What many would consider bold, was Evelyn grabbing Wednesday by the wrist, her eyes narrowed immediately.

Wednesday: Evelyn, I am not interested in this....frivolity

Evelyn: Come on, fam, it's a party! You can't just stand in the corner like a gargoyle all night!

Wednesday: I prefer the corner

Wednesday slips out of Evelyn's grip and retreating to her usual dark spot by the wall. Evelyn sighed dramatically, watching Wednesday escape before her eyes lit up with an alternative.

Evelyn: Fine, I’ll just grab someone else!

She spotted Eugene standing nearby, awkwardly shifting on his feet. Without warning, she seized his arm and dragged him onto the dance floor.

Evelyn: Let's dance! My Bee Brother!

Eugene: Evelyn! I’m not really a dancer!

Evelyn: Neither am I! We’ll be terrible together!

Meanwhile, Adam remained by the snack table, disinterested in the dance floor. He wasn't much of a dancer and felt perfectly content chatting with Dracula.

As Dracula took a sip from his goblet, Adam asked about mastering his own abilities, their conversation deepening into the lore of vampiric powers.

Suddenly, Dracula paused mid-sentence, his gaze shifting across the room. He excused himself from Adam and made his way toward Yoko, who had been standing alone by the edge of the room, watching the others from a distance.

Dracula: Would you like to dance, Miss Tanaka?

Yoko, usually calm and composed, blinked in surprise.

Yoko: U-Umm...okay

With a gentlemanly nod, Dracula offered her his hand, and the two glided onto the dance floor. Yoko, slightly nervous at first, found herself relaxing as Dracula guided her through the steps, his movements graceful and sure.

As Blue and Enid finished their dance, Enid noticed Yoko dancing with Dracula, a slight smile forming on her face.

Enid: Well, that’s something you don’t see every day

Blue: Dracula probably knows how to dance more than any of us

Then, Enid nudges Blue and points toward the corner where Wednesday stood, brooding as usual.

Enid: You should offer Wednesday a dance

Blue: Are....you sure? She doesn’t look like she’d want one.

Enid: Trust me. She agreed to one last year with you, remember?

Blue: Oh, right, she did

He walked over to where Wednesday stood, arms crossed and eyes narrowed as she watched the dance floor with an air of disdain. Then she looks up as dark eyes flickered to Blue's when he approaches.

Blue: Heyo!

Wednesday: What is it, Blue?

Blue: I know dancing’s not really your thing, but.....want to do it anyways?

For a moment, Blue thought she’d refuse outright, but then she sighed.

Wednesday: You’re persistent

Blue: You got that right, sarge!

Blue offers his hand, and Wednesday hesitated for a second longer before placing her hand in his, glaring at him all the while.

Wednesday: Fine. But don’t expect me to enjoy this.

Blue: I won't :D

As they moved to the dance floor, Wednesday remained stiff at first, clearly uncomfortable with the idea of dancing in public.

But as the music played and the movements became more familiar, she loosened just a little, not enough for anyone else to notice, but enough for Blue to sense the difference.

Blue: You know, you don’t have to be here if you hate it that much. You were like this last year as well

Wednesday: I don’t hate it, I merely find it.....unnecessary.

Blue: Well, it's still a good thing that you’re here anyways. And thank you for accepting to do this with me

She didn’t reply, but a flicker of something crossed her face, a fleeting hint of gratitude, buried beneath her usual stoicism.

Wednesday: Just don’t expect me to make this a habit

Blue: Say less! :)

As the music continued to play, Blue and Wednesday swayed in silence, their movements slightly awkward but fluid enough to pass for a normal dance.

They exchanged a few words here and there, talking about trivial things, like how Xavier’s art was improving, how Ajax had managed to turn half the dorm room into a disaster with one of his experiments, but eventually, Wednesday fell quiet.

The silence between them wasn’t uncomfortable, but there was a tension that neither acknowledged aloud.

Wednesday's mind wandered back to last year, to that fateful Rave'N when she and Blue had danced together for the first time.

She had been more focused on solving the mysteries surrounding the Hyde and Crackstone, but something about that dance had lingered in her mind. The feeling unsettled her, and even now, as she moved alongside Blue, she couldn't quite shake it.

Maybe it was because he was her partner, or because he is a Demon. Or....it could be something else. She didn’t want to understand it, nor did she intend to.

But despite herself, she couldn’t deny that she was.....secretly enjoying the moment. The quiet rhythm, the way Blue, though clueless as ever, was careful with his steps to match hers...it was all oddly calming, even for someone like her.

Then, just as she was about to retreat back into her brooding thoughts, Lady Lilith approached. Her presence commanded the room, her long, elegant gown shimmering in the dim light of the hall.

She was every bit as regal and imposing as the demon she truly was, and her sharp eyes were fixed on Blue and Wednesday.

Lilith: May I cut in?

Her voice was smooth but carried an undeniable weight. Blue, ever oblivious, simply nodded, stepping back with a smile.

Blue: Sure, no problem

He failed to pick up on the subtle tension that flashed in Wednesday’s eyes. She, however, knew better. There was always more beneath the surface when it came to Lady Lilith, especially given her history and connection to demonkind.

She was hoping that Lilith didn't known about what she had done, and how she was going to continue pursuing this new adventure for herself.

Watching as Blue took Lilith’s hand, Wednesday narrowed her eyes slightly, stepping aside but keeping close. She knew this wasn’t just a dance, it was a conversation, one that had more layers than Blue realised.

Lilith and Blue began to dance, her movements graceful, his a bit less refined but still earnest. The Headmaster smiled gently, her eyes softening as she looked at him.

Lilith: Are you well, Blue? I haven’t had a chance to check in on you for a bit

Blue: Oh yes, I’m fine. Thank you for asking. You helped me control my blue flames. I wouldn't be happy with no control.

Lilith’s lips curved into a small smile.

Lilith: And I will continue to help you, but there’s something more pressing I need to discuss with you....about Miss Addams.

Blue: Wednesday? Why? Is something wrong?

Lilith’s gaze flickered for a moment, glancing toward Wednesday, who stood observing them from a distance.

Lilith: I fear her curiosity in the Old Horns may be...dangerous. You’ve noticed how much time she’s spent investigating them, yes?

Blue: Hah, yes, she’s been interested in them since that one there emerged. But she’s always interested in weird stuff.

Lilith: Yes, but he Old Horns are not merely a curiosity. They are deeply tied to ancient demonic forces, I ask that you watch over her, Blue. Ensure she does not stray too far into something she cannot handle.

Blue: Iwill try, I’ve been keeping an eye on her, but I’ll be more careful. I’ll do my best to keep her safe.

Lilith: Thank you. Wednesday is a unique individual, and her strength is admirable...but even she is not immune to the dangers of the demonic world.

The two of them danced quietly for a moment before Lilith’s serious tone softened into something more casual.

Lilith. You look quite handsome tonight, Blue.

Blue: Thank you! ^_^ You look amazing too.

Lilith chuckled softly, her regal demeanor cracking just a little.

Lilith: So charming, aren't you?

Blue: I was raised to be a good boy...well, mostly.

Lilith: Your demon genetics, I suspect, have gotten you into a fair amount of trouble, haven’t they?

Blue: Well, last year’s chaos sort of explains it. But hey, it was for a good reason, I assure you

Lilith nodded, her smile growing a bit more sincere.

Lilith: Of course. You were the one who stopped Tyler Galpin and destroyed Joseph Crackstone...and rather easily, if I recall.

Blue: Demon genetics, am I right?

Lilith’s soft laughter filled their small space.

Lilith: Indeed. You’re stronger than most realise, Blue. But remember, strength must be tempered with control.

Blue: I know. And you’ve helped me a lot with that.

Lilith: And I’ll continue to help you, no matter what. But keep your guard up....especially around those Old Horns.

Their conversation fell into a comfortable rhythm, the music surrounding them. Despite the seriousness of their talk, Blue couldn’t help but feel at ease in Lilith’s presence.

After all, she was not just a teacher but a protector for demons like him. The dance ended, and Lilith offered him a graceful smile before stepping back.

Lilith: Enjoy the rest of your evening, Blue.

Blue: You too, Lady Lilith

As he walked back toward the others, Wednesday’s dark eyes tracked him, still unreadable but thoughtful.
