Keys & Cuffs

Hetalia Crow. 24.
A woman walked
Young and pure
Past the cells
Holding many criminals
Locked up for
Abuse
Burglary
Murder
Manslaughter
And many other
Kinds of crimes
The old steel bars
Are covered in grime
And starting to rust
A stale drop of water
Drips from the ceiling
Down the back of a prisoner
She keeps walking
And takes no notice
Of all the stories
All the truth
And all the lies
That rest in these cells
She keeps walking
Past the people
Through the door
Past the office
Out to her car
She unlocks it
And with the key in the ignition
And her foot on the pedal
She speeds down the street
'Round the corner
And into another parking lot
This time in front of an apartment building
She locks her car
And walks through the lobby
Up two flights of stairs
And unlocks a door
Labeled 27b
She closes the door behind her
And goes to the kitchen
She takes out a pan
Cooks herself grilled cheese
And after she has eaten
Brushes her teeth
Showers
And sleeps
Dreams begin quickly
And soon turned to nightmares
Of a burning house
Sirens screaming
Children crying
Prisoners escaping
And the death of many
Ambulances racing to the hospital
Firefighters searching the ashes
Police rounding up the people
And people running
Soon it is again black
The stars are bright
And she feels
Alone.
