Chapter Two

I didn't know what to do. I had not had any of this type of training before.

I heared the howls and jerked up frightened. My breathing became labored and quickened. I knew I had to get out of there, but how?

If I left the wolf someone or something else would find it. I couldn't leave it there. That would be too cruel. But I couldn't stick around, then I would be dead.

I heard more howls and this time I did what I did best. I ran,

I shot up from the ground so fast you wouldn't believe I was human, but I am. And high tailed my butt out of there grabing my bow and the arrow that I had pulled out of the wolf and shoved them on my back and my knife back into my belt securing them completely.

Before I left the clearing I turned once more to the wolf. It's head was lifted up and was stairing at me. As if it knew what I was thinking. As if it understood. Strange.

I staired into its eyes amazed at there beauty then then just before I turned back around it knodded at me once then got up and lipped away.

But the weirdest thing of all was when it turned to the side to run off I saw its wound or what was left of it.

The gaping whole my arrow had left was almost silled up completely. And it was defently not as hurt as it was before.

The wolf was healed.

This was no ordinary wolf. But what was it? And more importantly, does my family know what it is and if they do, why aren't they telling us?

What in heavens name are we dealing with?
