I was trying to think back to something I needed to remember, but I think the face that I was losing air was making me forget something. Something important. But I can’t figure it out.

I was at Alpha Dylan house and in his office. He was taking care of something first on the phone and I was waiting for him with Travis next to me. I rubbed my chin as I thought back to what happen two nights ago.

I remember Beta Kaleb telling me he wanted to kill me and how he would do anything to have Makenna. There was something about Alpha Dylan I know I should remember.

The door finally opened and Alpha Dylan walked in, “Sorry, I was speaking to Beta Zackary about something. All taken care of, though. So Shawn, how do you feel?”, he asked as he sat down on his black leather chair.

I shrugged, “Fine. I healed a lot while I was in the hospital bed.”,

“Big pain of the ass when they kept wondering how’d he heal so fast though.”, Travis said in boredom.

“Yeah, well that’s why we tend to stay away from them.”, Alpha Dylan said. “But since it was a human that found him, of course he was going to call the cops and have him taken to the hospital. So, Shawn, do you remember anything you need that’s told to be important? He tried to kill you so he can have Makenna?”,

I nodded, “Yeah, but I can’t help but feel they’re something else.”, I said. “I can’t remember it and the more I try the think, the more I get a headache.”,

“Well, it’s really important, you’ll remember soon.”, he said and leaned back in his chair. “We’ll figure out what to do with Kaleb real soon. He wont be back, I promise. He’s forbidden on my state and only his father can pass—with my permission.”,

Alpha Clyde, that’s who I need to remember.

“Rumors have been going around that Alpha Clyde might actually be backing down, but I doubt that’s true.”, Alpha Dylan said and groaned. “He rather die then live on and give up without a real fight.”, he said.

Die….kill.

I rubbed my temples and thought back to that night. Alpha Cylde wants to do something and it’s…to kill Alpha Dylan. Shit.

I groaned and leaned back on my chair, “Now I remember what else he mentioned.”, I said.

“And what’s that?”, Alpha Dylan asked.

“Alpha Clyde is planning to kill you.”, I told him and his eyes widen. “He can’t do that, right?”,

“Sadly, I can’t say that. He can and—and he will.”, Alpha Dylan said. He quickly got up and picked up his phone, “That son of a bitch thinks he can kill me?”, his growled and brought the phone up to his ear. “Yeah, I need you send two of you wolfs somewhere else. One at my house and one of Cassie house. Tell him to tell her just to let him guard around the house until I get there. Well, then tell him not to tell her cause I don’t need her to worry and knowing her very well, she’s going to keep nagging at him until he tells her, but tell him to keep his mouth shut or he wont get paid. Yeah, thanks.”, he said, putting the phone back down.

“You think they’ll try to get to Cassie and Makenna to get to you?”, Travis asked.

“I don’t think it, I know it.”, Alpha Dylan said in a hard tone. “It’s what he does. If he can’t get to me, he’ll go after what I really love. He’ll use them as bait. He’ll take Cassie to get to me and he’ll also take Makenna so I’ll have to agree.”,

I groaned and ran my hand down my face, “He can’t step back on this land. From the way Beta Kaleb put it, it sounded like Alpha Clyde wanted to do it himself.”,

“He’ll sneak in here. He’s very good at sneaking and if he doesn’t have other wolves do it, they’ll take Cassie and Makenna. I wouldn’t be surprised if he made Kaleb come over here to try and kill you. That man stubborn and hard headed. Well, if he wants a fight, I’ll give it to him.”, he growled and reached for the phone again, but Travis got up and grabbed his wrist to stop him.

“Not a good idea, Alpha Dylan.”, he said and Alpha Dylan give him a confused look. “Alpha Clyde is a known for his lying and if you do kill him, you really wont think he wont send have his wolves to attack? Humans will know about us and families will be ruined. Lets just take a few days to think about this and plan out what we’re going to do.”,

Alpha Dylan growled at him, “You don’t order me, Travis.”,

Travis took his hand off his wrist and said calmly, “I know, Alpha Dylan. I’m just saying. Your angry right now and I don’t want anything bad to happen to you, Cassie, or Makenna.”,

He breathed out his nose heavily, but put the phone down, “You right, but we have to think of something fast. We don’t know when he would want this little killing idea to happen and I hate not knowing.”,

“You’ll probably end up having to go to New York to talk to him.”, Travis said. “This way, you can make some kind of agreement instead of arranging a marriage. There has to be another way to unit Nike and Mond Laufer together.”,

‘I don’t have the money for what he want and I’m sure it would be huge.”, Alpha Dylan said. “Cassie is pregnant and Makenna wants to go this gymnastic camp in the summer—”,

“What?”, I asked, looking at him like he was crazy. I gave him a fake chuckle, “That’s funny, Alpha Dyaln.”,

He gave me a confused look, “She didn’t tell you? She’s going to this camp for gymnastic for three weeks.”,

I gripped the arm of the chair, “No, she didn’t.”, I said between bared teeth. “When did she plan this?”,

“About a week ago when she was in Karns and went pass the brochure. She talked about it with Cassie and I. We agreed she could go.”, he said shrugged.

Why hasn’t she mention this to me? And why do I have to find this out by Alpha Dylan? Was she even go to tell me? I don’t think I can spend three weeks without her…

Jesus, look at me. She was probably going to tell me soon and I shouldn’t be nagging. Makenna loves gymnastics and I shouldn’t stop her from doing what she loves….but does that mean she has to leave for three weeks!?

“Oh.”, I said, clearing my throat and leaned back up in my chair. “Well, that’s great.”,

“Mh-hmm.”, he said, knowing I didn’t feel that okay with it and rolled his eyes. “Anyways, your probably right. I don’t know what he could want, but I guess I have to figure out. Shawn, your coming with me when I go.”,

My eyes widen, “What? You really want me to go to the home of the guy who’s son tried to kill me two nights ago?”,

“Yes and it’s why you need to go.”, he said in a ‘duh’ way. “Clyde needs to know about this if he doesn’t already. Even, you can be a witness for whatever happens, but you can’t tell Makenna about this.”,

“Why, though?”, I asked, referring to him taking me with him. “Take Travis, I don’t want to get in the mess.”,

“Shawn, your already in the mess the moment you spoke back to Beta Kaleb.”, Alpha Dylan said. “Everyone in this huge mess and this mess can’t keep going on. You, Travis, and a few other wolves are going with me. Your fast, Travis is strong, and I’m three times both of those and my senses are much more unique. You can make it back to Indiana just in case anything happens and we need to attack.”, he said.

“That’s insane, Alpha Dylan.”, Travis said. “That’s just another way of saying it’s a suicide mission.”,

“You want Renee to stay safe?”, Alpha Dylan growled in annoyance and Travis raised an eyebrow. “You being this close to me can put her in danger. Your both going and that’s final. We’ll leave tomorrow. Remember, you both can’t tell anyone—not even your mates. Don’t worry, the same goes for me.”, he said.

I rubbed my forehead and closed my eyes tightly, Well, tomorrow going to be one crazy day.

“You have something on your mind, don’t you?”, Makenna asked.

Well, yes I do. Tomorrow I could die for all I know, I thought, but shook my head, “No.”, I said, giving her a smile so she’ll believe me.

She raised an eyebrow, but dropped it, “Okay.”, she said, laying her head back down on my chest. We were in my room watching tv, but I couldn’t stop thinking of Alpha Dylan crazy plan. He actually wants me to go. He’s totally crazy, but I can’t go back on his order. Ugh, this was one of the reason why I didn’t want to get in a pack.

I’m so dead.
