Chapter Two
Percy woke up to the sound of raised voices arguing about his fate.
"What do you mean I can't go with him, Chiron?" Nico asked angrily. "You know he's in a vulnerable state right now, what with," he lowered his voice. "Annabeth and the others. You can't honestly expect him to travel to another country, alone, with no valid reason or enemy to destroy! Hades, he's barely recovered physically from the war, let alone mentally! Doesn't this strike you as a bad idea?"
"I'm sorry Nico, I know you don't understand, but it is for the best. He can't be here for much longer. I've arranged everything already, so there's no going back. He simply cannot be anywhere where the gods are active, and the only other option was Alaska. That's all the information that I'm at my liberty to give, I'm afraid."
"I don't understand, and that's the problem! What are the gods going to say when they find that you've shipped our hero to Great Britain? Better yet, what's Lord Poseidon going to say? That's his son, if you've forgotten! They're fairly close!"
"Nico, the gods know that he's on a mission in Europe. Hecate herself has been trying to get me to send one of our finer heroes there for decades," Chiron explained, struggling to diffuse the situation.
The son of Hades sighed defeatedly. "So there's no way for me to stop this from happening," he said, more of a statement than a question.
Chiron's silence was answer enough.
"And it has to be a solo mission?"
"Yes, my boy. I'm sorry," Chiron said, sounding genuinely apologetic.
Nico looked disgruntled. "Can I at least to with him until he meets the people he's staying with?" He asked hopefully.
There was silence, in which Percy presumed that Chiron gave up and nodded his head in agreement. He heard footsteps, and soon enough Will's voice greeted them. "Hey Nico, Chiron." He gave a brilliant smile at Nico, whom blushed.
"Percy should be waking up soon," claimed Will.
He heard them padding over. Will hesitantly asked, "Percy?"
Percy groaned in response, and rolled over to his side.
Nico ran over to his side, and muttered, "Thank the gods." He cleared his throat and looked at the ground. Percy sat up and swung his legs over the side of the cot. "Percy, I'm sorry, but these visits have to stop. You're getting reckless. I know you miss them, and will never forgive her for her choice, but it was still her choice. You can't change fate. And, uh, plus, my dad's getting mad at me for rousing all of the spirits we pass." He looked up at Percy. "What's done is done, Perce. I'm sorry."
Percy saw red. He bent over and placed his head in his hands, rocking quietly. It was all his fault. If he had fought harder, protected everyone better, not died as soon-
"Perseus Jackson I swear if you go into relapse again..." Nico's angry voice faded away as memories invaded his mind.
They were standing in Olympus, all of the gods except for Demeter, who had been severely injured mid-war and was now being treated by medics in her own quarters, were seated in their thrones. Everyone was a mess. Poseidon was a pale grey color, and was sobbing uncontrollably for the loss of his son. Ares and Hephaestus were having a rare moment of bonding. The two stonic gods were hugging eat other, tears running down each other's faces and they prayed to thank the primordials that both of them had made it out safely. Artemis was staring ahead blankly, counting in her head the number of hunters that had died in this battle. Her companions for thousands of years, gone just like that. Apollo was trying to comfort her and get her to be mad at him for calling her 'Little sis'. Anything for normal, anything for blood.
Hermes was engrossed in mindless conversation with George and Martha, trying to block away the memories of his children screaming for this help in their dying moments. Athena was nose deep in a book about helping family deal with emotional stress. A certain thunder god decided that being loud and ordering everyone around, to no avail, would keep his mind off of his own loss. Dionysus was dead drunk, and crying uncontrollably. He couldn't drink away his problems anymore, they were too hauntingly real. The wife of Zeus was staring at her mess of a family, wondering what she ever did wrong.
Hades was currently mourning in the Underworld, with his son, Nico, but had let the Seven, minus Annabeth, go to see their family one last time. They came as invisible spirits, so no one knew that they were there. The Seven knew that pain would be going on, but not so much. They needed to make sure that Annabeth was going to be alright by herself, anyway.
No one would look at Aphrodite. Whenever someone did, all they saw were their sons and daughters and all those lost that they loved. Her eyes no longer looked liked kaleidoscopes, instead any who stared would see sea green eyes full of bravery, love, and hidden pain.
The only one who seemed calm was Annabeth. She sat in the center of the room, a near-empty box of tissues by her. A thoughtful expression was plastered onto her face. She had spent the first hour of her life without him crying her heart out, but put it together enough to think clearly once Zeus told her she got one wish, anything, twenty minutes prior.
Annabeth was too smart for her own good.
She voice rang out, shaky but decisive. "I have chosen my wish, my Lords and Ladies," she said respectively. She had to be respectful, she has to look put together and sane, or they would think that the madness and pain were clouding her mind and force her to wait to make her wish. She couldn't let that happen.
The gods straightened up instantly. They still had a hero left. They still had hope.
"Yes, Annabeth?" Artemis said hoarsely.
Annabeth inhaled deeply. There was no going back now.
Percy exchanged looks with the other Seven; something was wrong. Something bad was going to happen.
"I would like to trade places with Perseus Jackson," she said. She couldn't say Percy.
Some of the gods looked confused, so Annabeth continued. "I want him to of lived and me to of died. I will give him my life force," she cleared up simply, and if she hadn't just told the gods that she wanted them to kill her. It was the right thing to do, even though Annabeth knew that Percy wouldn't see it as such.
Percy tried to shout 'no!' forgetting that he was a ghost. He couldn't let this happen. Not Annabeth, not her. His Wise Girl couldn't leave. He wouldn't allow it.
His body was already fading for it's ghost form, however, even as he internally sobbed and fought against it and cursed the cruel fates.
Just as his invisible face was finishing fading, a collapsing Annabeth stared right at him, somehow knowing that he was there, and mouthed, 'I love you, Seaweed Brain.' Her eyes glassed over and she stared at something far away. Air was shoved from her lungs, and it was over.

Somewhere in a graveyard, a green eyed boy took a gasping breath of life.

Somewhere in a camp, a green eyed boy cursed himself, and slice by slice, bled away the pain.

Hey y'all! I loved this chapter, wbu? 1263 words(minus this 405(:p) word authors note XD), Hades yeah!
*silence as everyone stares at Spotty in hate*
Too soon?
Okay lol I'm sorry this chapter just made me really sad while writing it so I sort of cut short the feels of Percy in the flashback. I'm sorry, I just really couldn't write anymore of it.
Hope you enjoyed this chapter anyway :)
Okay, so I have an announcement. I'm leaving for camp on Sunday and I won't be back for about three weeks. I'm really sorry. I swear, if you see that I've voted on chapters or commented stuff etc it's because I always let my friend Parker borrow this account when I can't use it. (Shoutout to u btw, you're awesome and I love you so much :))
I promise, I am not going inactive. I could never do that, to you or myself. The average time spent on Wattpad by a Wattpad used is one hour. I don't know where they heck they got that statistic from, because I'm on this amazing website/app probably 3/4ths of the time I'm not with my family and friends. Lol right now it's exactly 12:00pm(when I'm writing this I finished this on Wednesday(I guess it's Thursday now?) but I'm updating on Friday because I'm trying to update The Demigod Avenger and this story on the same day now if I can because I love them both so much :) < that will be updated tonight I'm going to a party so it might be late sorry about that) and I'm still on it and plan to be on it for a while longer so a I guess that says something XD
But anyway so story time kids once one of my friends changed my username and password and then logged my out of Wattpad and I list it for a while and oh my gods I was so sad but thankfully she told me what it was eventually and I was able to change to back but I was so sad and worried. Sorry lol this short story was just to show y'all that I live Wattpad and wouldn't be the same without it, for the better or for the worse, so I'm not leaving. Don't worry. :)
Okay anyways...
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE NEW COVER @Emer28702000 LOVE IT SO FREAKING MUCH! *hugs* Everyone give this girl lots of hugs okay. :)
I love all of y'all so much :)
Love y'all
Spotty
