chapter10: flashing movies

 At the same time, 8STARz were at an impromptu meeting with Seth. He was apparently not too happy. The members were silent, as they weren’t sure why they were there. Then he pulled out a laptop. After several types on the keyboard, sound came out of the laptop. He turned the laptop. The screen showed a video of the 8’s performance from the night before. 

 After a few minutes, he closed the laptop. The members were still silent. He saw they weren’t talking, so he spoke up. “Can you explain to me why you were dressed provocatively?”

 Once again, they were silent. He continued, “Look, I don’t like that you altered your costumes. But I read the comments, and I saw the Twitter feeds. Your performance was the most talked about act in entire history of the 7STARz concerts. Everyone loved it. You have people talking about you, and you’re just starting out. 

 “I’ll admit that 7STARz took some time for people to start talking about them. You? All it took was a YouTube video of your impromptu mall performance, and you went viral overnight. Your MySpace series has become an instant hit. So much so, we’re doing season 2, and it’ll be renamed, follow the 8STARz. This is because you haven’t been juniorSTARz since the band was formed.”

 Finally, Greg spoke up, asking, “So…if there’s no problem, then why were we called to this meeting?”

 Seth replied, “The reason why I called for this meeting is because I need to know why altered your costumes.”

 Sarah said, “We did this because we need to get people talking about us. 7STARz are huge worldwide, while we’re the spin-off band. We want to show the world that we’re just as good as 7STARz. And we apparently did because everyone loved our costumes and the performance.”

 Maddie asked, “So, can we go now?”

 Seth said, “Not so fast!”

 With that, the members sat down. He continued, “You all should be familiar with how 7STARz became scandalous. Now, I get you want people talking about you. When 7STARz were about to start their first tour, Stacey leaked out, um, photos of herself. She told me she did this so everyone will talk about 7STARz, and it worked. I know all you just altered your clothes to look sexy. It’s not as bad as nude photos. But I must warn you. If you do anything that’s remotely mirroring their behavior, you’ll be just as bad as they are. We formed 8STARz to take over the Disney portion of the STARz franchise. You are to be kid-friendly. We cannot afford another scandal from any of you. Now you may leave.”

 As the members were about to leave, Ryan asked, “Can we keep our new costumes? We all think they’re better than the originals.”

 Seth replied, “Yes, you may keep them.”

 With that, the members left the boardroom. They soon arrived at back their hotel. When they entered, Sarah said bluntly, “We need to do more.”

 Maddie asked, “What do you mean?”

 “I mean, we need to do more than perform in sexy clothes.”

 Greg added, “I’m with Sarah on this one. We need more people talking about us.”

 Then Rylie said, “But you heard what Seth said. We can’t turn into 7STARz.”

 Sarah said, “We know what he said. But we’re not 7STARz. They got caught doing shit. We, on the other hand, will flaunt bad behavior.”

 Maddie asked, “We know that, but how exactly can we flaunt bad behavior?”

 With that, the members were silent. That is, until Emily asked, “Didn’t we get an email a while back for a movie premiere party?”

 Greg said, “We did, but that party is tonight. How can we go when we have the concert tonight?”

 Sarah said, “Actually, all we do is the opening act. We can go to that movie premiere after the performance.”

 Maddie said, “Okay, we go to the movie premiere. How is that scandalous?”

 Ryan suggested, “Why don’t we wear racy clothes to the premiere? That should get people talking.”

 Maddie grew an impressed smirk, and said, “I like your thinking. We can wear as little as possible. Oh, and we wear nothing underneath the ‘clothes’.”

 That surprised the 8, so Greg asked, “You’re saying we wear no underwear at all?”

 “Exactly. We flash everything to the cameras.”

 With that, the members became uncomfortable, but no one was more scared than Rylie. She said hastily, “Okay, I’m not going commando. My parents will kill me if the see me flashing my parts!”

 Maddie told her, “Rylie, we’re pretty much stuck here in LA. None of us are going home anytime soon. So I wouldn’t too much about what our parents think.”

 Greg asked, “So, we’re going to the movie premiere, dressed like strippers, with no underwear?”

 Sarah said, “Well, I’m in.”

 The 8 agreed to this plan.

 It’s now evening. 8STARz, once again, put on another stellar opening act. After they were done, they abruptly left the unisex bathroom, and the arena. They went back to their hotel to change into their most racy red carpet clothes. Then they got into a limo they rented.

 When they arrived, they looked at each other, trying to decide who should come out of the limo. Then Maddie said, “I’ll go first. Oldest members go first.”

 So Maddie opened the door. She opened her legs, showing the cameras that she had no underwear on. As she climbs out of the car, she bend down, showing she had no bra on. Then she stood up straight. She wore the shortest cocktail dress ever. It was black. The back was completely exposed, and it should some side side-boobs. The neck line plunged all down to her pierced belly button.

 Next was Ryan. He climbed out of the limo, wearing the lowest, skin-tight pants ever. It was so tight, it showed the shape of his balls. The pants were so low, it was obvious he wasn’t wearing underwear. He wore no shirt. He just showed off his chiseled abs.

 Next was Sarah. She wore a very short, silver dress that exposed her back, and had a plunging neckline. Now it was Greg’s turn. He was also shirtless, and wore super-tight, super-low pants. There were tears on the side, exposing his legs. After him was Alec. He wore similar pants to Ryan’s and Greg’s. 

 Back in the limo, Rylie was scared. She didn’t want to expose herself. Emily and Hayley noticed. So Emily said to her rudely, “Rylie, suck it up, and get your ass out there!”

 “No!” she argued. “I’m not going to show the world my…girl parts!”

 Hayley said, “Just think to yourself, ‘What would Kim Kardashian do?’”

 “I’m not doing a sex tape!” Rylie exclaimed.

 Emily said, “She doesn’t mean that. Look, do you want 8STARz to become the world’s hottest pop band?”

 “Yes, but-“

 “No buts! Get out there!”

 “I’m 14!”

 “Well, we’re 15. So go!”

 With that, Emily and Hayley pushed Rylie out of the limo. She fell to the ground. Her dress was so loose, she showed everything. She abruptly stood up, and fixed her hair. Then it was Emily’s turn to step out. She wore a super-short dress with mesh all over. Last was Hayley. Her dress was similar to Emily’s.

 The 8 stood on the red carpet, with smirks on their faces. The cameras flashed liked crazy. The paparazzi was shocked by the band’s underage peep show. Even the actors on the red carpet were shocked. This was a teenage Disney band, and they went further than 7STARz. Forget Stacey’s nude photos; it’s 8STARz’ flashing everyone!

 Sarah told the members while grinning, “Keep standing, guys. Let the cameras take us in.”

 Then the members went inside the theatre.

 It’s an hour into the movie, and the members were bored with it already. Greg texted everyone to meet in the lobby. The members agreed, so they walked out of the movie. Once they were in the lobby, Alec said, “That movie is fucking boring.”

 Greg said, “We need to find a way to escape.”

 Ryan asked, “How? The audience will know we just up and left.”

 Greg said in a snarky tone, “Got any ideas, blonde dumbass.”

 “Are you going to keep calling me that?”

 “Well, you are dumb and arrogant. So you tell me.”

 Sarah said, “Guys! Maybe we don’t have to escape. Why don’t we act like wild party-goers?”

 Maddie said with a smirk growing on her face, “That’s not a bad idea. That would both get us kicked out, and we get even more people talking.”

 But Rylie, who has been uncomfortable all night, said hesitantly, “Look, you guys go ahead. I’ll just sit and watch.”

 Emily asked in a snobby tone, “OMFG, Rylie, are you still scared of your parents? You’re not going back to Montana! End of story!”

 “But…”

 “No buts! Go out there, and act like some drunk 21-year-old!”

 Ryan held Rylie’s shoulders, and said, “Rylie, how about this: You and I make out in front of everyone?”

 Rylie asked nervously, “What’s making out?”

 Hayley said in a snarky tone, “Wow, you really are innocent! You don’t even know what making out is.”

 Emily said, “Yeah, she was living inside a rock.”

 Ryan ignored the two girls, and said to Rylie, “Just follow my lead, okay?”

 Greg, watching Ryan talking to Rylie, faced Sarah, and said, “How about we also make out?”

 Sarah thought for a moment, and said, “I like that idea.”

 Alec looked at the three other girls, and said to Maddie, “I know you have a boyfriend, but maybe we could make out too.”

 As Maddie was about to answer, she looked at Ryan and Rylie. She wasn’t sure what she was feeling whenever she stared at Ryan. She would feel herself warm up, as if she had butterflies in her stomach. Yet, she had to keep reminding herself she has a boyfriend, and that Ryan isn’t the guy she should be with. Her boyfriend, Josh, was an activist and a hipster: Ryan? He’s a vain, wealthy, pop culture-loving guy. He was a dancer on all three High School Musical movies, and was a backup dancer for Miley Cyrus! Josh? He’s trying to make the world a better place by volunteering and protesting. All while he’s in high school, being involved with extracurricular activities.

 Then Maddie turned to Alec, and said, “Um, I’m in a long-distant relationship with Josh. I promised him that I don’t screw this up. So, no. Sorry.”

 Emily faced Alec, and said, “Alec, how about this. Me and Hayley make out with you? At the same time?”

 Alec’s face grew a smirk. As for Maddie, she said, “Well, I can talk real loud on the phone, and cuss as bad as I could.”

 Greg and Sarah looked at each other, and then faced the others with determined grins. They both told the 8, “Let’s do this.”

 Everyone agreed. They went back into the theatre. Greg and Sarah made out heavily. Ryan and Rylie made out, but not as heavy. Emily and Hayley grabbed some syrup, and licked it off of Alec’s torso and abs. Maddie talked on her phone in the most foul language ever used.

 That behavior got the attention of the audience. So the ushers forced the 8 out of the theatre. As they were leaving, Sarah took Greg aside. He asked, “What is it?”

 She asked hesitantly, “So…are we thing now? I mean, we practically go out on dates. We even kissed. I don’t know.”

 Greg thought for a moment, and said, “Truth be told, I was actually wondering the same thing. I mean, I’m not a teen star. I lived a normal life while my parents rubbed shoulders with both American and Latin stars. You? You’ve been in this business since you a kid.”

 “So, you feel like you’re not good enough for me?”

 Greg just shrugged his shoulders. Sarah gave a small, though amused, smile. He noticed, so he asked, “What’s so funny?”

 She said with a small laugh, “Greg, who cares if either one of is a star or not? I like you just the way you are. Apparently, you like me the way I am too. Look, as the lead singers of 8STARz, we make a great team. We practically lead the band. But I do want us to be more than friends and leaders. I want us to be together, if that’s what you want.”

 Greg then gave a smile, and said, “I do want us to be together.”

 With that, Greg and Sarah kissed each other’s lips. It was real. Then they pulled away. Sarah laughed, and said, “We should go back to the others…and put some clothes on.”

 Greg laughed, and said, “I look like a gay male stripper.”

 “We all look like strippers. I mean, we did something that Britney did a few years ago. But it will get people talking.”

 “Yeah, child porn.”

 Sarah laughed. Then the new teen couple followed the others to the limo. They then returned to their hotel.
