Chapter 7

When I finally wake up after what feels like an hour nap, I look around. Everything looks normal, except the blue jay that I saw earlier was missing. I wonder why a blue jay was in the arena, I thought. I understand birds like crows and seagulls here in the arena, but blue jays? Blue jays are very uncommon in Silva, so I don't know how the Principles could have possibly caught a blue jay to put in the arena.

After I get up from looking around, I start looking for food again because now I am starving. I walk around for a while, and then suddenly find something move out of the corner of my eye. I don't exactly know what color it is, but I know it's not brown, red, or orange so it can't be a stick, mouse or leaf. I stop, look at the spot where I saw something move, stay in the same spot for about thirty seconds, and then once I realized that nothing was going to come out, I continued to look for mice. That was strange, I thought to myself.

After about another five minutes of walking, I found mouse that I could catch. I slowly creep up on it and then I leap, extend my arms, and pick up the mouse. Since I don't have a bag to put the mouse in, I have to walk back to where I pilled up twigs and sticks because I cannot carry two or more live mice at once.  Once I get back, I take one stick from my pile and stab the mouse. This is enough force to kill the mouse. After I kill it, I put the twigs and sticks on fire just from them and my hands, which I am surprisingly good at, and lay the mouse on top of the sticks. I flip the mouse a couple times, then finally, I start eating it.

Once I'm done eating, I start to get bored, so I walk around the arena. Walking is my third favorite hobby because my first favorites are climbing trees and reading. I know where I'm going because I am walking away from the door I came through to get here. I walk to the very back of the arena and find a small little garden with a seat and plants that surround and enclose the seat. This is a beautiful area, I thought to myself. I wonder why Perry never told me about this.

Since I am done eating and I obviously have nothing better to do, I decide to sit on the bench and admire my view. This place is gorgeous. There are multiple flowers of many different colors and plants surrounding the bench that I am sitting on. Perry must be crazy to not tell me about a place in this horrible arena that I would actually enjoy, I thought. I remember asking him if there was anything good about the Solitudo. This is a weird, but yet enjoyable area.

After thinking about this for a little while, that same blue jay that I saw earlier flew into the area and sat down next to me on the bench. This is all so weird, I thought. First, Perry doesn't tell me about the only thing that I enjoyed about this whole dang Solitudo process so far. Then, the most unknown bird known in the world of Silva shows up twice during my Solitudo.

I glance at the bird and then back at my view of the area. It's almost as if this bird is a human stranger, and to be quite honest, I am kind of scared of this bird, and I don't know why.

Then, my answer came right to me without any warning. I heard a voice, a nice, soft woman's voice. The voice was saying, "You are the first in fifty years of time." I am terrified at this point because I have never heard of anyone who went through the Solitudo to say anything as bizarre as this. Secondly, "I am the first in fifty years of time" what? What does this mean? And lastly, this is probably not right but I don't know what else it would be, I think the voice is coming from the blue jay.
