The Grundel returns again.
After placing me in my bed my mom went to visit my dad in Egon's lab. "How are you feeling honey?"
"I'm ok, but I don't understand why I'm here in Egon's lab." My dad replied.
"You don't remember what happened today?" My mom asked surprised.
"Not really. I remember being told that a ghost had kidnapped our daughter. Oh my goodness a ghost kidnapped our daughter!" My dad replied rising from the bed quickly.
"It's ok Jack. Catherine's fine. Well as good as can be expected considering..." My mom's voice trailed off.
"Considering what Kylie?" My dad asked worriedly.
"It's nothing, I don't want to worry you, you've had a stressful day. I really should let you get some rest." My mom replied.
"Kylie, I'm fine now, what are you not telling me?" My dad demanded his eyes flashing a ghostly green and his voice turning somewhat sinister.
"We were able to rescue Catherine, but there were some unforeseen complications." My mom replied.
"What kind of complications?" My dad demanded once more a deep growl in his voice.
"Egon says it's really nothing to be concerned about, he says that she will be fine...." my mom replied.
My dad raised an eyebrow "Kylie, What happened?" My dad asked trying to remain calm.
My mom sighed "You aren't going to let this go are you?"
"No. I want answers and I want them now!" My dad's voice boomed his eyes flashing the ghostly green once more.
My mom took a deep breath and lowered her head in defeat and ran her fingers through her hair nervously. Again my Dad sighed and tried the calm approach. "Kylie, look at me." My mom did as my dad asked. "Now please, tell me what's going on." My dad replied calmly.
"This was a mistake, I should have never come here. Egon warned me that if you became too angry, you might loose your humanity and become a full ghost. Honey, I can't loose you. Please let it go."
"No." my dad replied. "If you won't tell me what's going on then we are done! What happened to my little Princess?" My dad demanded his voice changing to deep baritone his eyes flashing the ghostly green once more. This time causing him to grow in size much like Bruce Banner does when he becomes the Hulk.
"Honey please calm down, your starting to scare me." My mom replied.
My dad didn't reply, but his eyes retuned to normal momentarily as he pushed past my mom and into the hallway. Heading towards my bedroom. "Hay man, what's your rush?" Eduardo asked jokingly.
"Mind your own business!" My dad replied shoving Eduardo out of the way as his eyes flashed green once more momentarily before returning to their normal blue.
"Um, Jack, I have a problem that I was hoping you could help me with." One of the others replied trying to stall my dad.
"Can't you see I'm busy?!" My dad demanded irritatedly.
"Jack, shame on you waking everyone up in the middle of the night! Your as bad as slimer. Now if you don't mind, let's all go back to bed and get some rest. It's been a long day and I need my beauty sleep." Edwardo replies.
"I'm not going anywhere until I get some answers! Now will someone please tell me what's going on?" My dad demanded his eyes flashing green again.
"All right, I'll tell you, but you have to calm down. The last thing Catherine needs right now is to see you like this. She's confused enough already. Let me give you the run down of the situation. The Grundel kidnapped Catherine."
"I know that... What are you guys trying to hide?"
"Catherine was hit with a proton beam.." Egon replies as he cleans his glasses.
"Oh ok. If that's all it is, I guess that it's no big deal..." Wait, I'm sorry, did I hear you correctly? Did you just say that my Princess was hit with a proton beam? How did that happen?." My dad demanded.
"Jack, you need to calm down." Egon replies.
"It was an accident." My mom replied.
"Who's fault was it?" My dad demanded.
"What is done, is done. There's no point in playing the blame game.... Besides, Catherine is fine. Egon says She wasn't hurt at all. Please calm down. If not for us, then for Catherine's sake." My mom replied. My dad closed
"Kylie." My dad replied with a frown. "Who caused our daughter to be hit with a proton beam?" My dad demanded once more the irritation in his voice growing. "Kylie answer me. Who hit her with the proton beam?" My dad growled.
"Eduardo." My mom replied at last.
"I'm going to kill him." My dad muttered angrily.
"The truth is, Catherine could've been hit by any one of our proton beams. She was intent on protecting the Grundel and doing everything she could to stop us from capturing and containing him." My mom replied.
"Why?" My dad asked confused his voice and gaze returning to normal.
"Oh your going to love this one Mr. Jack be niblle." Eduardo replied with a laugh.
The others exchange worried glances and shake their heads. Sometimes, Edwardo really was idiotic. This was one of those times. "If I we're you Edwardo, I'd keep that mouth of yours shut, before it gets you killed." Garret replies.
"Catherine convinced the Grundel to release the other kids from his curse, but it came at a cost." My mom replied sadly.
"I hate to be the bearer of bad news bro, but Catherine's gone loco. She's one crazy kid man." My dad growled and glared at Eduardo angrily grabbing him by the collar. "Hay take it easy man, I'm just stating the facts. She thinks the Grundel is her father, man." Eduardo replied.
"She thinks what?" I reply startled dropping Edwardo to the floor.
Meanwhile, back in my room I awoke with a yawn. I smiled when I saw Slimer asleep at the foot of my bed. Not wanting to disturb him, I carefully climbed out of covers to go open the window. I wanted to see if I could spot the Grundel anywhere and I also wanted some fresh air.
"Huh?" Slimer awoke and looked around. "Cathewine?"
"Shh. Go back to sleep. Me is just opening the window a little, me is hot." I told him quietly.
Slimer shook his head no and quickly shut the window. "Unuh!" He told me crossing his arms and floating over to the window to block my path.
"Pwease? Me pwomise me wont do anything. Me is just suppa (super) hot and want some fwesh aiya." (Air) I replied.
"I don't know..." Slimer replied hesitantly.
"Oh come on, please?" I pleased. Slimer shook his head no but my eyes began to fill with tears.
Slimer hates to see me cry so he agreed to let me open the window. once more. "It's a beautiful night just look at those staws." I said with a sigh. I was just about to give up when I finally spotted the Grundel. I watched shocked as a girl my age climbed out her window and followed the Grundel down the street. I wanted to follow him, but I knew there was no way I was going to sneak out with Slimer watching me. "Me thiwsty could you go get me a cup of milk?"
Slimer nodded and floated out of the room the instant he was gone, I called to him. "Daddy?" Unfortunately, I received no reply. "Oh whewa did he go?" I muttered angrily. I glanced out the window. There had to be a way for me to safely sneak out without being seen however, that wasn't the only problem. I also had to make it seem like I was still in my room or I'd never be able to search for daddy. Eventually, I decided upon taking my twin doll and placing it in the bed. Then I slowly climbed out the window onto the nearby tree limb. Once I was on the ground, I rushed as far away from the firehouse as possible. I had to find daddy.
Meanwhile, back at the firehouse Slimer floated towards the kitchen and was spotted by Eduardo. "Hay Slimeball, what are you doing up and about?"
"Why you!" Slimer replied crossing his arms angrily floating towards Eduardo.
"You stay away from me you disgusting slimy ectoplasmic blob!" Eduardo replied hiding behind the others. Slimer floating around the group trying to get to Eduardo.
"Ok, come on you two cut it out. Slimer what are you doing down here? I thought you were keeping an eye on Catherine." Egon asked Slimer.
"On come on Egon, we all know why he's here. All he ever thinks about is food. He probably, came down here to raid the refrigerator again. Dumb ghost." Eduardo replied.
"Slimer, I'm disappointed in you. I thought you'd have taken the job we gave you more seriously but obviously, we were wrong in trusting you with such a big responsibility." Egon replied with a sigh. "
"Yeah! From now on we won't give you any responsibility as you obviously can't be trusted dumb ghost." Eduardo replied.
"No fair." Slimer whined.
"Come on guys, give Slimer the benefit of the doubt. At least give him the chance to defend himself before casting judgement." My dad replied.
"Cathewine said that she wanted some milk."Slimer replied.
"Oh yeah? And where is this so called milk?" Eduardo demanded.
"Well..." Slimer started to reply but Eduardo interrupted him once more.
"Just like I thought, you don't have any milk do you? You just wanted an excuse to come raid the refrigerator."
"I did not." Slimer replied with a pout.
"Alright all this arguing isn't going to solve anything. We have more important things to discuss, mainly, how we are going to deal with the Grundel situation. Slimer please get Catherine her milk and get back to her room as quickly as possible. We need to keep an eye on her." My dad replied.
"Ok!" Slimer replied saluting my dad. A few minutes later Slimer returned to my room. "Cathewine?" He called to me looking into the room. Realizing that the person in the bed was a decoy Slimer dropped the glass of milk on the floor. "Oh no!" He quickly rushed out of the room and back to where the others were still discussing the problem at hand.
As Slimer rushed into the room, pointing wildly towards my room Eduardo crossed his arms irritatedly. "What did I tell you? He's back again. To raid the refrigerator again no doubt!" Eduardo replied.
Slimer shook his head "not hungry."
"Yeah right. You not hungry? That'd be a first." Eduardo mocked.
"Slimer has a job to do." Slimer replied.
"Oh yeah? So what are you doing back down here then?" Eduardo scoffed.
"Cathewine s gone." Slimer replied.
"What?" My mom and dad asked shocked rushing upstairs and into my room. "Slimer's right, she's gone. Come on guys, there's not a moment to loose, we've got to find her." My mom replied grabbing her gear. "If I know Catherine, she's gone after the Grundel."
I hadn't gone far when I heard the sound of the siren and knew that the others had discovered that I was gone. "Tattle tale!" I growled slightly, under my breath. I was about to run, when I was grabbed from behind. Before I could scream, I was shushed by a very familiar voice.
"Shhhh. Be quite or do you want those pesky Ghostbusters to find you?" The girl asked. She looked familiar, but I couldn't figure out where I had seen her before.
"Why did you sneak out of you house?." I whispered.
"Because, the Grundle has promised me a reward if I agreed to help you escape
those idiotic ghost busters." The girl replies.
"How is hiding me from them, help me?" I asked confused.
"Not you dummy, the Grundle." Tina replied rolling her eyes.
"Don't you know what happens to kids who accept his offa to come out and play?" I asked worriedly.
"He didn't ask me to come out and play, he asked me to help him rescue you from the ghostbusters. He promised me a big reward should I bring you to him, without leading the Ghostbusters to his location. Now come on, he's waiting for you." The small girl replied ushering me toward where the Grundel stood waiting. "Well here she is just like I promised now where's my reward?" Tina demanded of the Grundel who smiled.
"All in good time my child, all in good time."
"I want my reward now!" Tina whined with a pout.
"Very well, here's your reward." The Grundel replied with a wave of his hand turning Tina into a Grundel like himself.
"No." Tina moaned when she saw her reflection. "This can't be happening, this wasn't our deal."
"You wanted to be powerful. You wanted to be able to punish those who mock you and now you can."
"This isn't what I wanted, I didn't want this." Tina replied covering her face with her hands and moaning.
"Then you should learn to be more specific."
The Grundel replied. I tugged at his coat causing him to look down at me. "What is it my child?"
"You said that you wouldn't tuwn my fweinds into Gwundels. You pwomised."
The Grundel sighed. "A good friend wouldn't have demanded a reward for helping you, or me. They have done it because they care about you. Obviously, that's not the case with your so called friend over there. However, since I gave my word I shall return your friend to normal. But head my warning Tina, you had better change your ways. The next time our paths cross I won't be as forgiving. Now go!"
Tina rushed off as fast as her little legs could carry her. "Thank you." I whispered.
The Grundel smile "You don't need to thank me, I'll always do anything for you my child."
"Can we go home now?"
"I'd like nothing more." The Grundel replied taking my hand.
"Get your grubby paws off my daughter!"
"Why Kylie, it's so nice to see you again." The Grundel replied with a smile.
"Let her go! Or so help me I'll!!!" My mom replied with a growl pointing her proton blaster at the Grundel.
"Do you think I am holding her against her will? Catherine, someone to see you sweetheart." The Grundel replied with a wave of his hand.
"Catherine come here, come take my hand and we can go home." Kylie replied holding out her hand towards me.
I back closer to the Grundel. "Me am home. Wight daddy?!" I asked the Grundel, looking up at him with a sweet smile.
"That is right my little Princess." The Grundel replied with a evil smile.
"Catherine, your not yourself. You don't know what you are saying. He's got you under some kind of spell." My mom replied.
I shown my head. "No. Me chose to be with him of me own fwee will." I replied irritatedly
"Why? Why would you do something like that?" My mom asked hurt and confused.
"This deal is legal and
"You see, Kylie she is my daughter. She loves me dearly and I am prepared to fight dearly for her." The Grundel replied as if quoting Captain Hook from the movie Hook.
"Fine by me." My mom replied turning on her proton pack. "Let's dance."
"Daddy, Please, can we just go? Me don't want you to fight." I replied with a pout and batting my eyes.
The Grundel smiled "now how can I refuse such big sad eyes? Take my hand child and we shall be on our way."
"No!" My mom screamed and lunged towards me but it was too late I had already taken the Grundel's hand and he had scooped me up into his arms.
"Please, don't do this, please don't take my daughter from me. Please, I'll do whatever you want, but please let her go." My mom begged falling to her knees and sobbing.
The Grundel paused a moment and set me down momentarily. "I am listening Kylie, make it worth my while and I might consider your request." The Grundel replied.
I looked up at him in hurt and confusion. Had I done something to make daddy not love me anymore? At this thought I began to whimper tears now streaming down my face.
"Shh. My little one. Don't cry." The Grundel replied.
"I hate to say I told you so, but he's a liar. How can you trust him to keep his promises when he's so willing to go back on your deal?" My mom replied.
I looked up at the Grundel confused. "Daddy???"
"Don't listen to her Catherine, she is just trying to confuse you, to take you away from me." The Grundel replied.
"Catherine, I have never lied to you and I never will. Please take my hand and I'll take you home. Home to Your uncles, to your grandfather and most importantly to your real father, who loves you more then life itself." My mother replied reaching her hand towards me.
Instead of grabbing her hand however, I backed away from her and hid myself behind the Grundle. I looked up at him pleadingly and tugged on his jacket. "Uppy dada? Uppy?" I asked in the voice of an infant.
The Grundle looked down at me and smiled "of course little one." He said leaning down to pick me up.
However, as he did he was hit with a proton beam. I looked over to see a man who's eyes glowed an eerie green. "Get away from my daughter!" He growled and I looked over at him in complete confusion.
"Why Jack, my boy, it's so nice to see you.."
"Trust me, the feeling isn't mutual." The man replies.
