The Return
We headed into this planet's atmosphere, and to be honest, I'm a little nervous. This is my first ever mission, which is to check up on the cluster; this would be able to prove that I'm not a lost cause! I've been on this ship for a while, and I've met the Peridot that needed assistance because some gems were destroying her machines, and a Jasper that came to deal with the situation, and I'm here just for when they need help. Sure, sometimes Jasper would bet me up, and sometimes beat me up in the process, but I think that she's secretly training me so I can get stronger; even though I'm undercooked.
I looked out the window to see this giant gem fire an arrow, that split into a multitude of arrows, at the ship, but it did little to no damage. My grip tightened around the Gem Destabilizer in my hands as the uneasy, nervous feeling grew in my chest.
I was called over to them so we can head out. So, I went to where they were, and the captive, and a bubble formed around us. I felt the bubble moving under our feet before it dispersed. We were outside, and I saw a pearl, an amethyst, what looks like to be a fusion, and something that isn't a gem.
"That's them alright. They're the ones who keep breaking my machines!" Peridot said, walking to the edge of the ship, me and Jasper following behind. "This is it?" Jasper questioned, in her normal judgmental tone. "Jasper! They keep interfering with my work!" Peridot yelled. Jasper just groaned in annoyance as she walked closer to the edge. "Looks like another waste of my time." She muttered glaring down at the group.
"The prisoner." Jasper requested. "Oh, right!" I quickly said, picking up the Lapis and carefully setting her in front. "There you go." I cheerfully said, patting her on the head. The Lapis glared at Jasper before she looked at the group below. "This is their base?" Jasper asked. "Yes." Lapis confirmed in a quiet tone, and looked away from the group, looking like she felt guilty. I'm sad that she's feeling this way, but I'm not supposed to symptomize with prisoners or enemies to Homeworld; that would be a one-way ticket to getting shattered.
"You need to leave, immediately!" The fusion shouted in defense. "Yeah! Step off!" The overcooked Amythest yelled. "This is not a gem-controlled planet!" The lone Pearl stated. The three of us jumped down, and Jasper forcing Lapis Lazuli to come down. "Neither of you saw Rose Quartz?" Jasper asked, crossing her arms. "Oh, what a shame. I'd hoped to meet her. I was looking forward to beating her into the ground." Jasper stated.
"But this is all that's left of her army? Some lost, defective Pearl; a puny, overcooked runt; and this shameless display?" Jasper questioned, before she noticed the only one who doesn't seem to be a gem. "What is that?" Jasper asked in disgust, pointing to the creature. The Crystal Gems readied their weapons. "It calls itself 'The Steven'." Peridot informed. "He's just a human; he isn't a threat at all. He-He's not one of them!" Lapis quickly added.
"I know what a human is. You don't need me for this. Just blast them with the ship." Jasper said, walking back to the ship. "Ugh, fine." The Peridot groaned, using her limb-enhancers to make a holographic screen of the ship's controls. The ship levitated off the ground and positioned to a finger-gun, the tip of the index finger powering up. When the ship fired, I see that the human had run in front of the Crystal Gems and attempted to punch it.
The smoke cleared, and there was a familiar shield, Rose's shield. I was now holding back my panic, that's Rose Quartz?! And Jasper was flabbergasted at the sight. The shield disappeared and the human- I mean, Rose fell to the ground. "You, you have the power of Rose Quartz!" Jasper exclaimed. "Now do you believe that I needed an escort?" Peridot questioned. "Fire a borage; widespread!" Jasper commanded. Peridot did that, but they managed to get out of the way.
"Rose... why do you look like that? Why are you so weak?" Jasper asked. "Don't hurt him!" Lapis shouted, running to her side. "You knew about this!" Jasper accused. "It wasn't relevant to the mission!" Lapis reminded. "Forget about the mission." Jasper stated. "What?!" Peridot exclaimed. "Yellow Diamond needs to see this... thing." Jasper said.
The fusion came out of the sand behind Rose, and Jasper summoned her helmet, blocking the punch of the fusion's gauntlet, causing the both of them to slide back. Just as fusion ran back to continue fighting, Jasper took out her gem-destabilizer and ran forward. I remember that destabilizer, she would sometimes use it on me.
The fusion didn't even get a chance to attack when she was hit by the destabilizer. I looked away when that happened, not wanting to see the outcome. When I heard the poof, I looked back up and saw that the outline of her body parts were engraved in the sand, her two gems on two outlines.

"I was there, you know. At the first war on this garbage planet. I fought against your armies; I respected your tactics. But this..." Jasper said, walking over to Rose Quartz. She then grabbed her by the color of her shirt, lifting her off of the ground. "This is sick!" Jasper continued.
"Unhand him!" The Pearl shouted as she and the Amythest ran into battle. "I don't get what your planning, Rose, but look. Your base is taken, your armies are ruined, you have failed!" Jasper exclaimed as she made her helmet disappear and headbutted her, knocking her out.
Later on, Jasper ordered me to take down the remaining two, so when I used the gem-destabilizer, I gave them apologetic looks for I felt bad doing this to gems that are just defending themselves. When then put their gems in cells, and I had to guard the cells of the Amythest and the Pearl.
