I dragged myself to Lake Mead. Yes, I dragged myself since I was to lazy to get up. Don't judge me, you would do that too. I heard arguing in front of me. I glanced at the hawk as he glanced at me in question. I shrugged and got up, dusting myself from all the sand I had dragged with me.

"No! You don't understand! If you think of what they did to the little girl, what do you think they will do to --and you can never shut up can you Leo" I said smirking at his shocked expression along with the others awe faces.

Leo ran towards me in joy. I looked at him, smiling for the first time after Luna's death. "Leo--Yeah? WOW!" I picked him up and put him on my shoulder. "You got the information?"

His eyes widened and nodded in excitement. I looked to see Max looking at me in suspicion.

"How did you get out? We have been trapped in there most of our lives." I glanced at her then at Leo. I sighed waiting for Leo's instructions on this situation. He caught what I was silently trying to tell him and dropped his hand as I put him on the ground again.

"Mission report." The flock started at him in confusion, well as much as some can.

I closed my eyes and leaned on one of the rocks. "As you know the institute was keeping many mortals hostage for experiments-" I threw a hologram card, making a 3d blueprint of the building,"- the bombs went of fourteen minutes after the flock left." I kneeled down to point out what had happened.

"The green figure is me, the blue figures are the 'experiments', the black figures are the Erasers, and the white figures are the white coats. They tried to surround me since I was the one that let the other 'experiments' out of their cages and out of harms way. Five white coats were close to catching me, since I didn't have much energy, that is until I pulled out the cards, um yes?" I paused when I saw Gazzy stare at me in shock as the holograms did what I was saying. "Ho-how are you doing that?!"

I stared at Gazzy with a blank expression making him fidget. "Anyways, I believe there were some survivors of the explosion. I know for a fact all the Erasers survived, and the white coat named Jeb Batchelder. Is that all you need Cap?" I said getting the hologram back to its card form. Leo shook his head as he went into his thoughts. I rolled my eyes as I tossed him the miniature computer that Tony made.

Without looking to see or ask how it works, Leo put the USB inside the slot of the three by three inch cube.

"It will take a while to load, so let's get moving. At least we slowed down their process, Leo."

Iggy was nervously tapping long fingers against his leg. He sighed getting everyone's attention. "Come with us."

Leo looked at him surprise, not expecting that. I raised an eyebrow at his request until I saw Gazzy grin.

"Yeah! You can even become part of our family! Max, can they? Please!"

I sighed and put my fingertips to my tempest. "We are not pets, and I can't make that decision, Leo is the leader here of the two, I just follow command when needed."

Leo looked deep in thought while the others looked shocked, I guess they thought I was the leader of the duo. "I think we should stay with them, I mean they have been in the institute for a long time, maybe they can help us find our family," I nodded.

I then smirked and glanced at him with a look of mischief. "So...feeling useless yet."

"Hey!"

Gazzy, Iggy, Angel, Nudge and I laughed at Leo's reaction. Maybe they can help.

Max shivered, and I saw Fang briskly rubbed her shoulder. I looked at him, we had the same hair style, I was taller then him with me being 6'1 and him being about 5'10. He had dark brown eyes while I had seagreen, he had olive tan skin while I had sunkissed skin. I was pulled out of my thoughts when he spoke.

"Can't ever go back. Guess we need a new home."

"Yes." Max commented, thinking. I glanced at Leo. Could she be the hawk? "East, we'll go east."

Leo and I shared a look, I guess we are going back to New York.

Leo glared at Nudge when she said that mechanics was a waste of time. Right now, Leo was making wings so he didn't have to waste energy.

I crossed my arms and looked at the small computer as it changed color. I grabbed the small cube and was about to pressed the top until I felt someone's gaze at me. I made it look like if I didn't notice the blue eyes glaring at me and just stared at the cube.

She's not making it hard to guess her ploy. Night was falling fast, the air was getting colder and I could feel Max's happiness all the way over here.

They had Angel back, even if I can tell that her intentions are not good, she looked like a mess.

"Finished!" Leo held the metal wings up and strapped them on. Jumping, the wings reacted like if they were part of his body. I let out a sigh as I summoned the light gem.

You needed me mistress? I nodded, making the others but Leo, confused. Golden wings popped out of my back making the flock gasp, well almost all of them. "Ready?" They all nodded and we took off.

"God!" Nudge yelled three minutes after we started to fly east, speeding up a bit to catch Max's slip-stream. "It's just so, so...you know?" I rolled my eyes in amusement as she swooped down gracefully, then rose again and pulled alongside.

"Yeah, I know," Max said grinning at her. "Not to be rude and all but why were you two in the institute?"

I glanced at Leo and ignored his shaking head. "We are trying to find my brother and his sister." That made the flock look at us when tears of pain streamed from Max's eyes. Her hands clutched her head to keep the pain from hurting to much.

I could feel her pain, but ignored it as I saw that she was about to fall. I scooped her up in my arms, her wings mushed between us.
I don't know how long I carried her but I didn't care as I felt her pain slowly diminishing.

Her eyes opened as slits, I nodded to Leo and Fang to tell them she was okay. Good thing is I bondaged my chest or not she would have felt my boobs.

Max blinked up at me, seagreen meeting brown. I smirked at her surprised face ,"Morning sleeping beauty,"

"Max, are you okay?" Nudge's face was scared, making her look young, but a lot like.

"Esperanza," I mumbled in realization.

"Uh-huh," Max managed to say while gripping on to me. "Find a place to land," I quirked an eyebrow at her demand. She looked down sheeply "Please, um--Percy, Percy Jackson."

An hour or so later we made camp in one of the forests.

"Leo, can you make a fire? I'll make the food for tonight. Max, I can tell you're the leader of your pack, take the lead," I ordered as Leo took of his wings and I turned of my connection with Light.

I took out the food from the seals making the others surprise. With everything in the seal I basically made a feast for them.

They were slowly warming up to us.

"Anyone up for s'mores?" I asked as they all patted their stomachs in glee.

I stared at Max when I felt her emotions change from relaxed to worried. I sighed and looked down using the mind gem to listen to her thoughts.

'Even the Erasers, as successful as they were, had a huge downside: life span. They went from embryo to infant in five weeks," I flinched getting the attention of most except Max herself. "And from infant to young adult in about four years. They fell apart and died at around six years, give or take."

I let out a shaky breath, my eyes still closed as I listened to Max's thoughts.

'How about us? How long would we last?'

I slammed my palm to the ground making Max snap out of her thoughts.

"Max, wake up," Angel, tapped her knee, making everyone look at the duo, forgetting of what just happened to me.

"What's up, Angel?" Angel's large blue eyes looked solemnly into Max's but her emotions showed something different. "I've got a secret." No surprise there. "From when I was at the School." Is that what they called the institute?

"It's about us. Where we came from?"

Leo flinch at this knowing, as I know, but I let her tell them.

"They kept doing tests, you know, and they were all thinking about me, about the flock, like wondering where you were and if you would try to come get me."

I looked at her, she's stalling.

"Anyway, I found out that another place has information about us , like where we came from."

I got up and signalled Leo to come close to the two

"Well, spill it!" Iggy demanded.

"They have files on us," Angel said. "Like, the main files. They're in New York. At a place called the Institute."

"Styx, we may have gotten the wrong files Leo, those might not even be that of your sister or my brother." I mumbled to him, I could tell Iggy, Max and Angel caught it.

"There's more, you know how we always talk about our parents but didn't really know if we were made in test tubes?" Angel said. Max nodded in a trance

"You're not." I cut Angel off making their attention turned to me. Angel looked at me in surprise.

"Percy is right," Angel blurted. "We did have parents, real parents. We weren't made in test tubes. We were born, like real babies. We were born from human mothers."
