"Ayabulela," My father calls out just as I shut the front door, "Baba?" I echo, not sure where his voice had come from.

I had arrived home from writing my final exam, I was no longer a university student. Four painfully long years, done and dusted. Although I'd be taking another test soon enough so that I could become a registered dentist.

It was a really funny profession for a werewolf but I wanted something that could work in the human world in case I ever wanted to live there permanently. My parents had taken me to human schools my whole life so I've grown accustomed to them and their ways.

So choosing a predominately human profession shouldn't have surprised them but somehow it did.

I mean, I'd get home and train with the pack and be completely immersed in pack life as soon as I got here so it wasn't like I was abandoning my heritage. Although, much to my father's dismay I am far more in-tune with my witch side then my wolf side.

"Surprise!" All my friends and family popped out of all sorts of hiding places and seeing as I was completely wrapped up in my thoughts they completely startled me.

I yelp as I jump backwards and everybody bursts out into laughter, "See, if you listened to your wolf more that would've never worked on you." My father mutters just before my mother elbows him in the gut.

"Congratulations, honey! I'm so proud of you." She pulls me in for a much welcomed hug.

I'm ushered to the backyard where I see several pack members, with the sheer number of people here I hear 'congratulations' for pretty sure forty-five minutes.

My jaw begins to ache having had to smile so hard for so long, I appreciated the effort but I wished my parents had waited for tomorrow. All I had imagined the entire ride home was my bed... and my sleeping in it.

I'm running on two hours of sleep and I'm definitely going to burnout soon.

"There's my favourite little sister," my sister, Akhona, says as she walks up to me our brothers in toe with her.

"Congratulations, short."

"Congratulations, squirt."

I thank them both just as my sister throws an arm around my shoulders, "Congratulations, Aya."

My siblings are all werewolves, if they hadn't come from my mother's womb I would completely question it but they did and she is the witch. However, they don't have a drop of magic.

Somehow, I'm the only one.

Being a hybrid isn't much of an anomaly, there are several all around the world. It's also not as taboo as it sounds that I'm the only one out of four children. It does happen although there is only about a 98.9% chance that only one child would be a hybrid, especially with a number like four children.

At the very least one other child should've inherited the witch trait but nothing.

I've always believed that's why I was sent to human schools, to avoid any bullying that could occur. Although, as I mentioned it isn't an anomaly I know I would still get bullied because of my siblings I'm the only witch. Werewolves think they are superior so being half of an 'inferior' group would still be looked down upon.

So, I never complained about going to human schools. I trained with the pack and trained with my mother sometimes with her coven. Although, travelling to the coven is something my father hardly liked that I do.

The party thankfully didn't last long and I was able to retreat to my bedroom soon. I took a shower before putting on some pyjamas and slipping into bed.

I fairly heard a knock on my door before only a southern of light from the outside appeared on my floor. Accompanied by the shadow of a head peeping in,

"Ayabulela, there's still guests outside," Okay, I lied, "Not to mention it's only nine."

"I know, Ma but I did say goodbye to everyone. That wasn't for them, it was for me. I'm done, that paper was stressful and I haven't had a good night's rest in weeks."

She chuckled, "I'm really proud of you my love, goodnight."

"Goodnight, mom."

There was a strange feeling in my stomach that I just couldn't ignore. It had been lingering for days, some days more noticeable than others. I knew it was my body trying to tell me something but what it is I couldn't place my finger on it.

Just as I had finished my shift at the boarder the feeling returned, with it this time a huge wave of emotions that my wolf couldn't ignore.

I was second in command when I was in her skin but because of the magic within me, she only controlled about forty-five percent of me in this shape. My magic giving me that much needed extra five percent, I've seen what my pack mates can do once their wolf takes full reign. Usually it's a sixty-forty battle for them but it can easily because ninety-ten if they lose control.

That could never happen to me because I had essentially three parts within me although the magic works in unity with my human side so it just tallies up to two parts.

Leaving the wolf on her lonesome and with a measly forty-five percent when in her form. I can lose control in this form but I could never do something and blame it on her.

Her head was held high as she scoured the area, trying to find the source of this knot, for lack of better word. Once she couldn't find a thing out of place we continued on our way back to the house.

My sister walked passed me in her wolf form tapping my hind leg with her snout as she did. Her shift would be starting soon, no one ever let me take the night shift.

I could beg, scream, kick and yell but it would never happen. My parents were adamant that it should never happen, my siblings didn't quite understand it either but they never did anything to question it.

I was the only one who tried and the last time I did, I was temporarily jailed for 'attacking the Alpha and Luna.' I hadn't jumped them or anything I had just literally kicked and screamed, perhaps chucked a few lamps and cups too.

For being the Alpha it was always bizarre that my father could hardly keep up with me, I was easily faster than he was. So trust me, those lamps and cups definitely hit the target. They threw me in there for three days and I never brought it up again, so now I just leave before sunset and make my way to my room.

Upon my arrival I find Sakhile, the younger of my two brothers, seated on my couch, "Goodness, for someone who's as fast as you are you sure do love to walk slow." He mutters.

"Oh, whatever."

He smiles broadly, "I've missed you, how long are you staying?"

I had a place there in the human world and it was only a matter of time until I would be back there. Bridging my two worlds was something I knew I could never even attempt so I always had to choose one place of the other whenever I was planning on being there for a while.

"I'm not really sure but let's not dwell on that," my eyes involuntarily drift out the window as they only for a split second meet with eyes I had never seen before, "But it might be a while."

Obviously you know something she doesn't so don't take everything she says here to heart. She'll learn eventually and when those chapters come I'll update her train of thought. — this should be obvious but I know there will be people later trying to fight me on some "in chapter one" so yeah.
