"Chris where were you ?" I asked and hugged him tightly as soon as I saw him standing at the door. My heart was beating faster and I couldn't believe my eyes. I expected him to hug me back but instead, he pushed me away.
"Chris?" I asked.
"Stay away." He said.
The warmth in his eyes had changed. The calmness in his voice had changed. The way he showed me his love had changed. I looked at him, biting my lower lip, trying not to cry.
"Great to see that you are alive," Will said.
"Stop looking for me." He said.
"What are you talking Chris. What happened?" I asked trying to hug him once more.
"Mia, you are no one to me now. Stay away." He shrieked.
"No. You are lying." I said sobbing.
"Have you lost it?" Will asked
"I came here to tell you guys to stop looking for me. I went on my own, it's my decision." Chris said.
"What's going on?" Zach asked coming out from the other room.
"Chris?" Zach asked.
"Zach. So you are helping them uh? Chris asked.
"I know you are doing it for Brittney, but don't worry we are finding a way to kill her," I said.
"Don't." He yelled.
"Why not?" Will asked.
"Get out of my life Mia," Chris said ignoring Will's question.
"Facing those sleepless nights, avoiding looking at the mirror because I could only picture you, going here and there to find you, meeting other people to find a clue. I did it all for you. And now you say you don't want me in your life. What has happened to you?" I asked sobbing.
"Please, Chris. Tell me what happened?." I asked, my throat all dried up.
"Don't you understand that he hates you?." I heard Brittney say as she entered the house.
"Fuck off. You are a pain in the ass." I yelled.
"Zach didn't expect that you would team up with losers." She said.
"Chris. Don't let her do this to you." I requested.
"Stop," Chirs yelled.
"No," I said.
"Well, don't tell me I didn't warn you," Chris said taking out a pocket knife and piercing it on my injured hand. I groaned in pain as Will came and pushed Chris aside.
I held my hand and took out the knife. I couldn't believe Chris would do that.
"Kill me but I won't stop trying. I don't care if you hate me or not, but I won't give up." I said holding my hand. Blood came out from the injured spot and soon my dress was covered with red stains.
"I won't hesitate to rip out your heart the next time. Stop hoping that I would come back." Chris said leaving the house and slamming the door shut.
"Understood?." Brittney asked following Chris.
"Mia," Will said holding my injured hand. Zach made me sit and chanted some spells and touched the wound. The wound started to heal.
"What was that?" Zach asked.
"A baby scolding another baby," Will said.
"What the fuck has happened to him?" I asked wiping my tears.
"He has changed Mia," Will said.
"No. He is doing it to protect her Will. Stop judging his love." Zach said.
"I can't handle it anymore," I said picking up my cell.
"Where are you going?" Will asked.
"I don't know," I said tieing my hair in a messy bun.
"You can't. You know there are people who can roast you and eat you up." Will yelled.
"The person I loved the most, just tried to kill me. What worse can happen?" I said.
"Let her go," Zach said.
Will gave me an expression that was mixed with anger, irritation, and displeasure. I avoided him and left the house, crying hysterically.
I walked and walked without thinking. My legs just carried me away, till I saw the same restaurant where Will and I had come to meet Zach for the first time. I remembered the old times when I used to look for Chris. It was all just a waste of time. I went inside and went to the bar counter. There were more people sitting than the last day. There was a band of musicians playing some sweet music and a singer who was singing beautifully.
"What should I sing next?" The singer asked after completing a song.
"Sing the song hold on." A girl from table six shouted.
"Request accepted." The singer replied.
The musicians started playing some sweet music. I closed my eyes remembering the days when Chris used to sing for me with the same warmth in his eyes, the same calmness, and love in his voice. Memories started flowing like a waterfall as I patiently heard the guy sing.

"Loving and fighting
Accusing, denying
I can't imagine a world with you gone
The joy and the chaos, the demons we're made of
I'd be so lost if you left me alone"

"You locked yourself in the bathroom
Lying on the floor when I breakthrough
I pull you in to feel your heartbeat
Can you hear me screaming "Please don't leave me"

I pictured Chris. He holding my hand and telling me about how much he loved me, with the same warmth and love in his eyes.

"Hold on, I still want you
Come back, I still need you
Let me take your hand, I'll make it right
I swear to love you all my life
Hold on, I still need you"

"I want you, Chris. I need you. I'll make it right. I will." I mumbled wiping my tears.
Everyone clapped as the singer stopped singing. I went to him to give him a tip.
"You reminded me of someone very special," I said dropping the tip in his hat. He smiled back.
I went back to my seat and thought about a way to bring back Chris. I understood what I wanted. I took out my cell and dialed Zach's number.
"Hey Mia," he said picking up the call.
"Hey, where are you?" I asked.
"Will's place." He replied.
"I need your help. Can you please meet me now.? I asked.
"Where should we meet you ?" He asked.
"Don't tell Will about this, please. Can you come alone.?" I asked.
"What's the matter Mia.?" He asked.
"I want to meet you please," I said.
"Okay, I am coming. Where are you?." He asked.
"Manresa, where we first met," I said.
"I'm coming." He said hanging up the call.
"Ma'am would you like to order a drink?." A bartender asked.
"Sure. Bring me this." I said pointing towards a drink on the menu card.
"Only one?" He asked.
"No make it two," I said looking at Zach who was coming towards me.
