Lapis' POV

I'm in the dark.. I don't know where I am..
I see a bright light, so I decided to follow..
As I came closer, the light turned into a figure.
A figure... That is familiar to me.. A figure that is precious to me..
I ran to it. But as it became aware of me, it ran away.. faster than I was.

And all I could do was...

Call for it..

"Peridot!" I gasped as I woke up on my bed, tears dripping from my eyes.
I hugged the pillow next to me and started to weep.

It's been.. months.. since the last time I saw Peridot.. I searched for her.. I swear I did..
I woke up the day after I lost her in the woods.. I searched for her everywhere. I even visited her house everyday before I went to school.. Still nothing.

"....Peridot.. what happened to you..? Where are you..? ...why.."

"..why did you leave me..?"

I continued to cry for awhile. I checked my phone and saw that it was 3 am.. again..
I kept having these dreams ever since.. And I kept waking up at this exact hour.

I-is Peridot even real..? Or am I just playing with myself..?

I wiped and dried my face.
"Maybe I should just forget her.. Her absence just makes me feel like this.. and I don't think it's good for me.." I said as I stood from my bed.

I sighed and stretched, then headed for the bathroom.
I stood bare and still as I let the water from the shower head roll on my body.

I emptied my thoughts and continued to wash myself. But.. all of a sudden, I just bursted tears again.. Tears mixing up with the water as I cried uncontrollably.. Until I felt a light touch on my back which triggered my wings.

Shocked, I covered myself with my wings and turned around. There was no one.. I quickly ran out of the bathroom and covered myself with a towel.

Heavy thoughts entered my mind as I started to fix myself. I touched the part where I felt something earlier, and it felt weird.. like something was there.. Chills entered my body so I quickly put on clothes and left for school.

It was still early when I arrived at school. It wasn't even 5 am yet.

But heck, who cares? So I entered the campus secretly and headed for the gym. Surprisingly, I wasn't the only one there.

There was a girl of the same batch as mine working out with the weights.
I quietly entered and placed all my bags near the lockers. I stood before the weight next to her and tried to lift it.
At first, I couldn't make it budge. At all. So I used my powers and tried again. It felt like I was lifting a pencil.

"Woah! You're strong as heck! How the hell did you do that?" The girl exclaimed.

I shrugged and had the chance to examine the girl before me.

She was actually pretty small.. She was just below my nose. She wore a tank top and ripped jeans, she also had long hair which reached her hips. She seemed human so I didn't bother checking her.

I hadn't noticed that I was staring so I acted up.

"Uh.. what's your name..?"

She seemed surprised, but grinned anyways.

"The name's Amethyst, and you?" She said as she held up her hand to shake.

I hesitated, but I held her hand anyways.

"Lapis." I said coldly.

Amethyst grinned wider and pulled me into a hug.

"Yes! New friend!" She said as she squished me.

She immediately let go of me and jumped to the weights.

"Can you do that again?" She asked with stars in her eyes.

I smiled softly and carried the weight with one arm.
She gasped and looked so amazed.
I placed the weight down and she immediately ran to it. She grabbed it with both hands and tried to carry it, but she just looked like a kid trying to carry a thousand pound weight which made me giggle.

She didn't stop though, she continued to try, but sooner or later, she started panting and ranted at the weights and kicked it softly.

"No fair. How'd you get so strong?" She said sounding like a kid who lost their candy.

I smiled. "Don't know." I said teasingly.

She punched my arm and laughed.

We continued to hang until the school bell rang. I didn't even notice that we were together for more than two hours, but I didn't mind.
We parted ways and went to our classes.

And for some reason..

..I felt happy again..
