"You're not going to fucking believe this," Matt growled as he stormed into my office. It had been a week since our confrontation with the Council, and since then, we had been trying to hunt down any leads we could on how to help Asher, including locating Geneieve. He slammed a folder on my desk, arms crossing as he paced back and forth. "I should have killed the fucker the day he messed with her at that pathetic law firm."

What was he going on about - kill who? I picked up the folder and began reading, my rage building with each sentence. "Where is he?" I demanded.

"Sitting in our dungeons as we speak," he answered, fangs bared. "Along with our snake of a receptionist who led us straight to him."

"Salva? Again, really? I thought she would have figured out we were still watching her," I huffed as we headed down the hall.

"Should I get Ren and Daniel?" he asked.

"No, not yet. She's still struggling to sleep between the nightmares and the twins. They are taking a nap right now. Let's see what we can get out of him first." To be honest, I was worried Serenity might skin the man alive before we could even get answers. Her temper had been short since the disastrous Council meeting, and the twins seemed to already have powers even in the womb. Just last night, she had felt sick and began to pass out. Before either of us could reach her, a shimmering cloud surrounded her, gently lowering her to the floor, then vanished when we touched her. I firmly believe it was the twins protecting both her and themselves. We had an appointment with the seer and doctor on Friday. I was hoping they could shed some light on the issue.

The damp air made my nose twitch as we neared the cells. I saw Ms Salva's eyes widen as she quickly turned to avoid my murderous gaze. Lucky for her, she was not my primary concern at the moment. Sitting rigid on the cot in his cell was Serenity's former boss, Mr. Dahl. "Well, isn't this a surprise?" He held my gaze, not answering. "So tell me, Mr. Dahl, just where have you been?"

A sadistic grin spread across his face. "You pathetic vampire. He will destroy you all and use that poor excuse for a daughter to reign forever."

We had already decided to keep the fact that she still had powers a secret after her little display before the Council. "Apparently you didn't hear. Serenity has been turned, she's a vampire now. So who exactly will be destroying us?"

The man blinked, his resolve shaking. "That...that's not possible. She is the Child of Light meant to destroy the Dark Lord." I let out a barking laugh as he seethed. "Your King is cruel and lies. Even if he has turned her, her Father will see this wretched kingdom fall."

"My wife will not fall, nor will my King."

"Your wife," he sputtered, "But she belongs to the King."

It struck me then, he didn't know she was my Eternal as well. Without answering the man, I turned on my heels and left. I needed to speak with Daniel and Serenity immediately. I threw open the bedroom door, expecting to find them still asleep.

"Prisoner?" Daniel asked.

"Dahl," I replied, noticing the fiery look that now adorned my wife's face. "Seems he was working for your father." She growled. "On top of that, he was rather flabbergasted that we were also Eternals. It made me wonder how much your Father and Danu know."

She deflated, "Well, Danu knew about both of you, but I didn't really talk to Father much when I was there. I kept hoping he would at least apologize for the way he treated my mother, but then when I figured out what they wanted to do to me...well, let's just say I knew it was a lost cause." Serenity paused for a moment, then mused, "Maybe we could question Dahl some more. How do you think he'll react when he sees my baby bump?"

"Probably shit himself," I chuckled.
