Chapter 15

Ryan's Place

Janet

Turning back towards the house, I walked down the small path, up the stairs and stood at Ryan's front door. I took a couple of deep breaths, raised a hesitant hand and knocked.

The door opened and there she was. She looked pissed. I'd clearly woken her up.

"Who the fuck is it?" Her expression quickly changed. She blinked a few times as if she thought she might be dreaming.

"Janet? I didn't think you would come." She said softly still trying to process my being there. I didn't say a word as I walked inside. We stood there for a moment in silence. She looked amazing, standing there in front of me in a very thin robe. I wanted so badly to touch her. Approaching her slowly, I backed her against the wall.

As her breathing quickened, I slowly opened her robe, finger tips grazing her bare skin and revealing nothing underneath. Her flesh was hot and soft, like warm silk.

"Janet..." She whispered breathlessly, but I ignored her. Talking was the last thing on my mind. My hands found their way around her waist and I pressed my hips against hers. She gasped, feeling my lips touch her neck. "We should really talk first."

I put my fingers to her lips and shook my head. Tears in my eyes pleading with her. "Please, not tonight. Not now. I've missed you." I kissed her lips and said it again. "I've missed you so much Ryan." She fell into the kiss, making my pulse quicken. Ryan moaned softly causing the wetness between my thighs to increase. My hands explored her body causing the loosely tied robe to fall open completely. I stopped and looked at her waiting for the okay to continue.

"I just don't want you to do something that you might regret tomorrow." She said softly.

"Will you regret it?" I asked. She shook her head, "Never." she replied and kissed me. Her tears wet both of our faces and I was lost in her completely.

Her lips were just as soft as I remembered. She was so gentle with me. Before I knew we were both naked in her bed, my hands gripping the sheets, my moans filling the entire house. We made love like it was our last time, and soon the sun began to peek over the tops of the mountains. The songs of the birds was so clear all the way out here.

The one thing that I enjoy the most about Ryan is the way she looked at me. I loved watching her watch me. She had a way of making me feel like I was all she could see in this world. Explaining how it feels to be there, with her in the moment is an impossible task, but I wanted to enjoy it as much as I could

She looked at me serious for a moment, like it was something that she needed to say but I wasn't ready to hear it.

"Janet I need to tell you something." She said.

I sat up quickly. There was finally enough light to actually see everything around me.

"Oh my gosh. This place is incredible Ryan." I said getting up from the bed. I pulled at the sheet playfully and wrapped it around me, leaving Ryan laying there naked and exposed. She laughed, grabbed a pillow and threw it in my direction barely missing my head. Sticking out my tongue, I mocked her as I made my way down to the bottom level.

"This is not at all what I expected when you invited me here." I said walking over to her message bored. I picked up a marker, a piece of paper and signed...

🖤J Was Here 🖤

Ryan's laughed echoed from above me. "Then what were you expecting Ms. Jackson?" She peeked over the railing and tossed a shirt on to my head covering my face. "Did you expect to walk into the mistress's dungeon?" She mocked and laughed.

"Jerk!" I said jokingly, making sure her eyes were on me as I dropped the sheet, giving her a show. She had the best seat in the house. "I guess thats a silly assumption to make." Turning my face, I attempted to hide my embarrassment.

Ryan stood at the top of the stairs. She smiled. "I would've probably thought the same to be honest." She said pulling a long knit robe around herself before coming down to join me.

She took a seat on the bottom step, looked at me and shook her head. I'd grabbed an apple from the table and started slicing it with a knife.

Ryan

I couldn't take my eyes off of her. I'd never been so taken back by anyone's presence, ever. Just wow.

"Do you always walk into people's kitchens and steal their food?" I asked. Janet stood in front of me. She teased my lips with the tip of an apple slice until I finally took a bite. I went to wipe the juice from my lips but she beat me to it. Her lips touched mine as she traced them slowly with her tongue forcing me to smile.

"I fed you last night, you feed me this morning." She answered sitting the knife on the counter as she finished her last piece. "Sounds fair don't you think?"

I shook my head and pulled her to me playfully. "Nasty girl." I said. She lost her balance and fell into my lap with a squeal. Janet gazed at me and I was instantly lost in her brown eyes. "You really do take my breath away."

She looked away, blushing. I brought her face back to mine and kissed her. Janet glanced up at the clock on the wall and gave me sad eyes. "As much as I would like to stay here with you, hidden away from the world, I have such a busy day."

"I understand." I said with a slight smile. I didn't want her to go. "Want to share a cup of tea before you go?"

She smiled. "I'd love that."

The tea pot whistled once the water was boiling. I poured us both a cup and handed one to her. She blew it a few times, took a sip and smiled. "You remembered how I like my tea." She said.

"I remember everything you tell me." I paused for a moment. "Do you want to see my favorite part of the house?"

Janet looked up, smiled and nodded. "I'd like that." I took her hand and lead her out the back door.

"Wow." Janet muttered, being taking back by the view. "Oh my gosh Ryan." I looked at her and smiled.

"Beautiful isn't it? My grandfather built this place as like a "she cave" for my grandmother apparently. I was told that the joke between them was that there was more deck than house."

"Where are they now?" She asked.

"They died before I turned 18."

"I'm sorry." She said touching my hand and resting her head against my shoulder.

"It's okay, I never got the chance to meet them. My parents were young and in love and not ready for a child so they gave me away. My grandmother didn't find out until I was already adopted into a family." I motioned for her to take a seat. She just watched me for a moment, I knew she wanted to know more.

I took a sip of my tea and continued. "I was told that my grandmother didn't want to take me away from what she thought was a happy home but she made sure to leave everything behind just for me." I smiled. "It was the nicest thing anyone had ever done for me. This is one of my favorite places to be. I come here when I need time to myself."

"When did you find out you were adopted?"

"I always knew, they made sure of it."

"They?" I asked curiously.

I'd never told anyone about my life except one person. Turned out to be the wrong person to tell. I looked at her for a moment, and I wanted to bare my soul. Just as I opened my mouth to speak there was a knock at the front door.

"Ryan? You home?" We both heard from around the house. My heart was pounding as I recognized the voice right away. I looked at Janet.

"Who is that?" She asked starting to notice the alarmed look on my face.

"I um, that's what I wanted to talk to you about." We heard the knocking again. Janet stood up and walked back inside. I followed close behind.

"Janet hold on baby." I said, but she continued to ignore me. She stood at the door, glanced back at me and opened it.

There stood Chase with two cups of coffee and breakfast. She was just as surprised to see my face. I glanced back at Ryan, nodded and walked up to upper level for my things. I picked up my phone to see that Gil had been texting me all night and all morning. "Shit!" I'd forgotten that I'd even invited him out. "He is gonna let me have it." I finally heard Chase speak.

"Did you sleep with her?" She asked. Ryan didn't have a second to answer as we could all hear a car pull into the drive way, bringing the conversation to a halt. I walked over to look out the window. The car doors opened. My breath left my lungs as I watched Gil, Toni and Kyle get out and walk towards the door.

"Fuck! fuck! fuck!" I said as I quickly slipped into my clothes. I had my shoes on and halfway down the stairs as Ryan opened the door.

Toni glared as she walked full speed ahead towards Ryan, and Ryan was ready. I jumped in front of them. "No! We are not doing this." It was already done. Toni swung striking Ryan in the face, knocking me down in the process, sending me tumbling down the stairs.

"Dunk!" Gil screamed, running to my side and helping me up.

"I'm fine Gil." I assured him. He snapped his head towards Ryan and Toni.

"Get it the fuck together! You could've really hurt her! Acting like fucking savages. If you want to fight, fine! But put Janet in danger like that again and I swear to our lady God I will have you bitches for dinner!"

"Gil, it's okay, I'm okay." I dusted sand and grass from my clothes and glanced towards the porch.

I'd forgotten all about Chase. She'd damn near slipped away unnoticed as she headed for her car.

Ryan, holding her face followed her. "Chase please, can we at least finish our talk?"

She stopped and looked at Ryan before getting in. She looked so hurt and betrayed. Chase didn't say a word, she just nodded, got in the car and drove away quickly.

Ryan turned back towards the house, pushed past Toni and walked inside. I tried to follow and Toni grabbed me by the arm.

"Toni don't!" I snapped. "You had no right!" I turned to Gil. "And you KNOW better! Why would you let her come here Gil."

"Dunk I was worried, you weren't answering any of my texts or calls. What was I suppose to do?" He asked

"Trust me! I'm not a child Gil. I don't need to be saved every time I don't text you back." I finally looked at Kyle. Her head was down and she was standing absolutely still like no one could see her. I approached her slowly.

She glanced up at me. "I'm so sorry, I tried, but he took my phone and -"

"Snitches get stitches." Gil said.

"Shut up Gil!" I snapped. "It's okay, you showed me your loyalty last night. I realize this isn't your fault. Can you please take them home?"

"What about you?" She asked.

"I need to stay and figure out what I'm doing here." I said.

Kyle nodded. "Okay, call me if you need me and I will be there." She turned and walked towards the car. "C'mon on drama queens! Getting me in fucking trouble." She mumbled under her breath as she got in the car and slammed the door.

"I like her." Gil said, looked at me and smiled.

"I'm mad at you. Now go home. We'll talk about this later." I turned to walk back in forgetting that Toni was even standing there.

She looked at me for a moment. "What about me? No more words for me... you're girlfriend?"

"Yeah, Toni... it's over." I turned away from her and walked into the house, closing the door behind me.
