Balance

I approached the building next door, wishing no one would see me and think I was a burglar. I quickly jumped the railings of the lower floor balcony and started climbing towards the roof. I didn't look down, I knew I was too high, I din't have to fully understand it.

I could feel the wind rocking my hair, dancing in front of my face. My hands trembled as they were hardly at all fit. I slipped on the railing and grabbed the floor of the top balcony. I'm regaining my balance. My gaze is focused on the target, the open window.

I could see Nadia staring at me in a terrified way behind it. She relayed her anguish to me, only not to fall and cripple myself, I want to take part in these races.

Nadia: Come on, Erica, you're going to make it!

She spread her handles and I gave a little boost to my body with a jump, I reached the height I wanted. She locked me in her palms and desperately pulled me in. I could feel my left rib scratching as I squeeze into the downed window.

With the momentum of the movement, we pile on the floor. My hands are still shaking. I can't believe what I just did.

Nadia: Don't do this to me again.

It wasn't up to me and she knew it. I hugged her and went to the kitchen where Myrto was with Mr. Jason eating one of the usual pizzas. They observe me surprised, they can't understand how I got into the house. You've underestimated me wicked, you've made a terrible mistake.

Nadia: Don't even ask. You don't want to know.

They cast some last glances before they completely turned away and concentrated on the food. Nadia takes three plates from the cupboards and puts them in a row. Orpheus arrived soon, so we all sat down to eat together, as a family.

The climate was particularly pleasant with Myrto of course unrestrained as it was to throw away a couple of innuendo. Then we both dedicated ourselves to studying for tomorrow's tests. We had to finish soon if we didn't want to live reading later under candlelight.

Yes, it was an experience we didn't want in our memoir. We finished early and went to practice, the cops were gone. I feel like I'm doing something illegal, like I'm a criminal while others are actually them.

It's going to pass. I encourage myself. It's going to pass as it all goes, and soon you're going to be back to your boring routine. For now, I'm just going to focus on running.
