"So I broke up with Steph and got with Brad."
"Wait, who's Brad?"
"That water guy we met from the capital."
"He's still here?"
"Yup, our parents need to pick up the slack."
"It's not easy trying to help the entire continent."
"Whatever, anyways, I got together with Brad. That's why I haven't been with Steph."
"How long is Brad going to last?"
"Rude. Besides, I have high hopes for him."
"Um... hope I'm not bothering anything?"
"Solar! Hey!"

Sam and Pheonix were talking over by a nearby  shop.
After the "100 year war" our parents devoted themselves to helping everyone. A lot of things were destroyed in that war, our parents are here to help.
Of course Mom doesn't. She's too busy being a goddess.
Wait, don't think that.

"Hey guys! Is Pheonix with someone else again?"
"Yup, I'm with Brad."
"Wait, what happened with Hannah?"
"I broke up with her and got with Steph."
"Who's Steph?"
"By the gods, Phoenix. You have had more relationships than everyone we know, combined."
"Aunt Kyna must be so proud."
"Just because she dated some other people before she met Momma does not mean she can hold up to me. Your parents are just weird. They really only had one relationship and that was it?"

I mean... yeah.

"Anyways, why'd you come over here? Thought you would be with your mom or something."
"Eh, just wanted to hang out with my best friend."
"Huh. You're usually hanging out with your family or something. Well, mostly your parents. Sunrise never really hangs out with you guys."

Don't blame her.
Shut up~

"She has her own reasons, I guess."

Sam twirls with a strand of her hair.

"You okay? You usually-"
"I don't care about what I usually do!"

Sam looks away.

"Sorry..."
"Never mind, I have to go train."

"Let the elements flow through you. You have to keep control, however."
She looked like she was swaying with the wind before casting a spell.
"Solar, you try."
"Uh, okay."
I try to sway with the wind, but it felt weird. The wind wasn't flowing through me, it was kinda going everywhere else.
"Keep trying, I'll work with your sister."
I tried and tried... but it wasn't working.
She made it seem so simple.
It wasn't.

Then I hear an excited yell and look over. A tree had grown in front of Sunrise... she looked so happy.

But I couldn't do anything.

"Keep trying, Solar. You'll get it."
"Thanks..."

But nothing I did worked.
Nothing.

By the gods... what am I doing with my life?

I'm so sorry for not posting lately.
Um, but on a related note... I will probably be posting in longer intervals. Not too bad, I hope, but I am interested on working on more books and working on my own personal life.
