One week had passed since the convention announcement. Life went on normally for Madison. The next vlog she did had her discuss some of her past convention experiences. She made no mention of anything paranormal because the last thing she wanted to do was worry her viewers.

Once she wrapped up the vlog, Madison checked her email account. One unread message from an individual named Aidan Martin was in her inbox. 

"Good afternoon Miss Greenwood,

My name is Aidan Martin, one of the leading voices on Castle of Spirits. Our team have looked at your video you sent us last Saturday. 

This is easily one of the most intriguing clips we have ever seen.

That face that appeared in the picture is... unsettling. The fact that it happened during the filming of an everyday YouTube video makes this even creepier. It's one thing to go into, say, a location that's supposedly haunted to try and capture something on camera. Obviously, this is not the case here. All you were doing was announcing an upcoming event. 

We appreciate you reaching out to us, and we would like to set up a Zoom meeting to discuss this further. Send us a follow-up email detailing an available time when you can.

Thank you."

Madison experienced a sense of relief as well as dread. On one hand, she felt glad her story got heard. On the other hand, the fact that Aidan called the clip "intriguing" caused her to think, "This is even worse than I thought. I'm not crazy." She soon sent a follow-up email detailing what time she would like to meet up with the Castle of Spirits team. Madison decided to do it tonight at 7 p.m. 

Suddenly, she heard three beeping noises coming from the microwave. The YouTuber went over to check it out and saw the timer at 1:81.
