I hollered with excitement as I flew through the air on my Hoverboard. 

"C'mon!" Jason said from behind me "That's not fair! You get a damn Hoverboard while I have to go by foot?"

"Hey! You said you needed practice for the tests. Also, I thought you said you wouldn't swear! You lied to me!"

"W-what? Oh! Sorry!"

I laughed as he ran at a super fast pace. The Observatory upgraded our Agility Boots since it's been a few years since we got them. Gosh, it feels like yesterday I was still in the Universe being taken by my father. Now that I think of it, was I really that confused of the world?

Off the questions, Xen. I swear, I think that science's unanswerable theories are getting to me. Anyways, I headed straight for the Observatory as my short, red hair ruffled behind me. I've always kept it to a boycut ever since I got my robotic parts.

Speaking of which, I had to get them tested today.

I slowed down my speed and landed gently on the ground. I picked up my board from the grass and pressed a button on the bottom to make it transform into a small chip. As I was placing it into my pocket, Jason came running down, but he couldn't stop himself from his high velocity. He crashed into the wall next to me, made an dent in it, and landed in the bushes. It took all of my will power to not laugh. I still failed though.

"Stop laughing!" he said while blushing from his accident. "The scientists haven't fixed my brakes yet. Okay?"

"I'm sorry," I giggled. "But it's just-" 

I just burst out laughing again. Oh my God, it was too funny. He even had some leaves stuck in his hair for crying out loud! Jason plucked them out and growled at me. I cleared my throat and calmed myself of my laughing fit.

"That's it," he said.

He then lifted me off the ground and twirled me around. I screamed with surprise and joy. He then place his lips over mine, and I kissed him back. When we pulled back, he smiled at me with a goofy smirk.

"Did you do that just to kiss me?" I asked.

"Maybe," he replied while setting me down. "Anyways, we should get to the Observatory. Doc told us to meet her after we got our parts checked."

I nodded as he let me go through the automatic doors first. The technology of the Observatory has changed a lot over the years. So has it's main field of study. Because of the many labs it holds, this place could be a multipurpose building. It's quite interesting if you think about it.

A place that use to study the Universe for so long because of someone not being able to go far enough into space is now changing it's observations towards human life. What sort of puzzled me was why didn't they know much about human DNA if they are able to make entirely new parts of a human with metal and wires?

Doc even told me this place was officially named the Observatory because of how improbable it seemed that the Universe would have no end to the questions. While there are some things that still need explaining, they have settled down to a few theories that could easily be proved true or false with the Affix.

Anyways, Jason and I walked through the halls, waving to the scientists that smiled to us, and we walked into the Testing Center. We could already see that the scientists were testing the new Cyborgs and the new Robots. The Cyborgs ranged from eight to twenty years of age. The young ones are getting the hang of using their Robotic parts, but the adults were having bits of trouble with their balance beams.

"Jason! Xen!" A familiar, Robotic voice called. "You're here!"

I turned to look at the one and only Laurie. Well, technically her name is Madison, but I'm so use to calling her Laurie. Even after I met her sister, I still mixed them up. 

"What's up, Maddie?" I said, enunciating her name.

She gave me a Robotic chuckle. "As much as I'd like to chat, there are some serious matters that Doc wants to go over with you two after the testing."

"Does this matter have to deal with matter from the DNA?" Jason joked.

"Actually, you're not far off. Now, hold still." 

Maddie then beeped rapidly, and her lenses flashed red. The sudden signal blinded me, and when I finally got my sight back, I was in this clear container the size of a small room. I looked to my left, and Jason was in the box next to me. He waved while giving a small smirk.

The Test is beginning, Laurie, er... Maddie's voice came, ready?

"Ready as I'll ever be," I replied while clapping my hands together. "What you got first for me?"

First, we need to test how your forearms work. Since they transform into machinery... I then heard whirring behind me. Think fast!

I turned around, sending a message to my forearms to shape and shift into guns, and I immediately started shooting the dummy that appeared in front of me. When the poor thing was full of bullet holes, it slowly lowered into the ground.

Nice! Your reflexes are actually better than before!

"Thanks," I smiled. "I've been practicing."

On Jason?

I snorted and shook my head. Since our tests were recorded after each other's, I turned to Jason's container to watch him. I glanced to him, and I noticed his eyes were giving off a red glare. Yeah, he was hyped for this test.

Why? Well, before he got a really bad score on his last test. He decreased in running speed, which is why the scientists upgraded our agility, so he kept on practicing every time I went out on my Hoverboard. Explains what we were doing earlier.

Jason then noticed me looking at him, and he gave a small wink. I rolled my eyes, recognizing his new, little gesture as a flirt. I then heard Maddie's voice from the intercom above. Since Jason didn't have my communication system built into his head, every test he took, like the other Cyborgs, had to be given through the obnoxiously loud intercom. I'm glad that the box I was in was a bit soundproof. 

"Well Jason?" Maddie said. "You been practicing on your running?"

"Every day," he replied. "Had a bit of help from Xenny over there."

Wait.... Xenny? I felt heat rush to my cheeks as I heard that nickname. Sure, Jason and I were lovers- God, it still sounds weird to hear that- but he never gave me a nickname or anything. Madison's laughter was enough to make me blush even more. If that was even possible.

"Well, I'm glad she could help you." The floor underneath Jason pixelated and transformed into a large conveyor belt. "Let's see how much you've improved."

Just as Maddie said that, the belt started moving. These holograms appeared on the side of his little testing area, and it showed Jason's data. It showed the speed of the conveyor belt, how many calories he was burning, and how close he is from reaching is previous speed.

As of now, he was very close to reaching 10mph: his previous speed.

When he was about to beat his record, the sirens began blaring throughout the facility. I covered my ears, ringing rippling through my communication system, and Jason's test stopped abruptly which made him land face first into the wall of his container. 

"Ow!" He groaned while getting up. "What's going on?"

"I don't know," Maddie replied. "One of the experiments went wrong. Oh no... Doc was right." That last part was a faint whisper.

"What was Doc right on?" I asked. "Was it for the DNA?"

"Yes. I need to get you two out right now. Hold still."

We did as we were told, and Jason and I were teleported into the main lobby.

K.C.T: WOOOO! I have not updated this book in who knows how long, and I just now got the time to finish writing this chapter. Whew... that took way too long. But as you know, the cliffhangers will live on! FOR NARNIA! Wait... *Looks at script* Wrong line! Oh well. I guess we'll just have to wait for the next part. Everybody say bai! OOWAY! <3
