“This is ridiculous” Kaida muttered for the fifth time as they walked inside the Amusement park.

“I think I heard you clearly the first time, Leonessa.”Ace said, rolling his eyes.

“Well you are not listening. You never do. I told you to stop calling me, Leonessa. You never listen” Kaida retorted. She was an assassin. Not a kid who needed fun.

She shouldn't have agreed but then again Ace wouldn't stop bugging her about it the whole damn day. And she needed something to distract her from his questions and his hot body plastered on her mind.

She had finally seen his tattoos. On his right arm, he had the tattoo of a fallen angel adorned with skulls and thorns trailing lower down his arm. On his left arm, he had the tattoo of a wolf with red eyes adorned with lightning and a black snake twirling all around his lower arm.

His chest was also covered with different tattoos, a sword in the middle with wings on each side taking over his chest. Two scorpions facing each other on his lower abdomen, feathers tattooed here and there, some dripping with blood, others looking like the feathers caught fire.

After they left the training room, she also saw his back tattoo. He had the tattoo of a devil, intricately done with piercing dark eyes, the horns, the details on the devilish face looking striking. His whole back was covered in dark ink to fill in the spaces around the devil face like rising smoke. He was a breathtaking masterpiece and the way her body reacted to him was infuriating.

They were both so similar. Both powerful, Fierce, stubborn, and dangerous. They both clearly wanted to fuck each other till they passed out. But she knew better than to hold him close to her heart. Than to give in..

“If you know I don't listen, then why do you keep complaining?”Ace asked, snapping her out of her thoughts. His eyes filled with amusement. Of course, the bastard was enjoying himself.

“Fuck you Ace” Kaida replied. He was so damn infuriating. And she should be indifferent about it. She had dealt with so many assholes throughout the years but something about Ace made him both infuriating yet endearing. That was what pissed her off even more.

“Fuck me anytime you want, baby” Ace winked making her heart skip a beat.

Did he really just say that? “Can you be serious for one second?”Kaida asked, clenching her jaw. Images of her fucking Ace with a dildo coming at the forefront of her mind. Heat pooled between her legs at the thought and she was instantly dripping wet.

“I'm always serious.” Ace deadpanned giving her a once over look.

“You know what? Shut it. Just shut your filthy mouth,”Kaida replied, walking past him.

“You want me, Leonessa. You will eventually give in,”Ace said, falling in steps next to her.

“I'm not interested in fucking the one I'm protecting.” Kaida replied pointedly.

“No one said we couldn't fuck. If we are stuck together. At least we could satisfy each other's needs” Ace said, raising his eyebrows teasingly.

Kaida glared at him “We are in an amusement park with kids all around and that's the best topic of conversation, you got?”

“I'm just teasing you. I love watching that fire in your eyes when you are mad and desperately trying to deny you don't want me”Ace grinned.

Kaida flipped him off heading towards a shop there. She needed something sweet. Anything to get her mind off that man.

“Now darling, we have kids here. Where are your manners?”Ace asked in response to her flipping him off.

Kaida ignored him and instead bought a red velvet cupcake. She bit into the soft velvety sweetness enjoying the flavour. Sweet pastries were always her favourite way to get her mind off things.

“You won't talk to me anymore?”Ace asked, buying a chocolate cupcake.

Kaida remained quiet leaning against a nearby wall and watching the kids. Her cupcake already devoured.

“Silent treatment, I see” Ace sighed. “I was just messing with you, Kaida”

“You are my charge. I'm your bodyguard. That's it. The less we get involved with each other, the better”Kaida replied calmly. She couldn't get distracted. She knew if she fucked him, she would want more and that was a dangerous addiction she couldn't indulge in.

“You refuse to show your emotions. You always hide behind that mask. That poker face you have perfected over the years” Ace whispered and she could feel his gaze on her.

It was true. She always hides her emotions behind a mask of indifference. But no one had noticed or maybe they did but they didn't dare question her. Ace on the other hand is definitely the complete opposite. He's persistent. Adamant. The more she pushes him away, the more he keeps coming back. The higher she put the walls around her heart up, the more determined he was to break them down.

“Emotions and duty don't always go hand in hand,"Kaida replied calmly. That was one of the first lessons she learnt from Ricardo. Don't feel, don't get attached, don't love.

“Emotions and duty can coexist,” Ace replied, stepping in front of her.

“We just met. Why do you want to get close to me this much?”Kaida asked. True it was in her interest that he was attracted to her. She could manipulate that and use it to her advantage but Ace was not only attracted, he was trying to make her feel and give in to the desire she had for him. That was what scared her. She shouldn't have wanted him to begin with.

“From the moment I laid eyes on you, there was something about you that captivated my soul, Leonessa. The devil inside me was always quiet. Lurking beneath the surface. You brought it up.”Ace whispered, stepping closer to her till they were inches apart.

She should have pulled away. Step away from him but she couldn't. It was as if his words had trapped her in place.

“I saw a spark in you the moment I looked into your eyes. A fire that burns within you, hidden beneath your strength. A bright light that I want to get lost in. I want to consume every inch of you, Leonessa,"Ace added, his voice low and deep. His hazel and grey eyes darkened with desire and need.

“I'm not good for you Ace. I might be your bodyguard but I'm still an assassin.” Kaida whispered looking up at him as if silently warning him.

“I'm well aware. Yet I'm drawn to you like a fucking moth to a flame. I can't help it” Ace replied, his voice strained.

Her breath hitched as he lifted his hand and brushed his knuckles against her cheek tenderly“Stop resisting me”

She didn't know what came into her, maybe it was the plea in his voice but she couldn't resist him.. Not right now.. Maybe just a taste of him would finally calm down her fucked up mind that wanted nothing more than to be ravaged by this man. Just one kiss.. One simple kiss..
