“You are sure this is really a good idea?”Kaida asked, bouncing her leg nervously in the car.

“Yes, relax Leonessa. My mother truly wants to see you and I'm sure everyone will like you” Ace said, rubbing her thigh gently as he drove them to his parents house.

“Right.. How many people will be there again?”Kaida asked, running her fingers through her hair. A habit Ace noticed she had whenever she was nervous or irritated.

“Uncle Ares, Uncle Alex, Uncle Orion, Grandma, Mom and dad”Ace replied, already smiling at the thought of being with his whole family after so long.

“Right,"Kaida replied, looking anxious.

“Don't tell me the ruthless Assassin is scared of a family dinner” Ace teased earning a glare from her.

“Being an Assassin never included that” She retorted. “I'm not good with people.”

“I'll be there with you, I promise it's going to go well” Ace whispered, holding her hand and intertwining their fingers. His other hand on the steering wheel.

Kaida sighed softly, relaxing slightly. “Alright, I trust you”

Ace grinned. “Say that again”

“I trust you Ace,” Kaida said, rolling her eyes with a faint smile.

Ace grinned even more. He finally felt like they were making improvements. She was slowly warming up to him and accepting him in her life. He wanted to tell her he loved her but after the troubled look in her eyes when they were in the pool. It was probably better to wait. At least she was not pushing him away now and God have mercy, fucking her had felt so good. He had never cum so hard in his entire life. “I trust you too” Ace finally whispered softly watching as her eyes flickered with emotions and vulnerability and again that troubled look.

He paused, slowing down the car. “Do you intend to break it, Leonessa?”

Kaida remained quiet and Ace knew something was wrong. What was going on in her mind?

“Kaida, look at me,"Ace demanded sternly.

Kaida looked into his eyes. Her charcoal grey eyes looked tormented.

“Are you going to break my trust?” Ace asked once more, his heart racing.

Kaida remained quiet again looking away from him. “ I don't.. Know”She whispered faintly.

Ace stared at her observing her demeanour. “You are not being honest”

Kaida tensed up almost instantly. “What makes you think I am not?”

“Don't fuck with me. Kaida what's going on in that pretty little mind of yours?”Ace asked, clenching his jaw.

Kaida closed her eyes, exhaling deeply. “I'm an assassin Ace, how can you trust me? I have killed so many people"She whispered hoarsely, making him relax slightly. So that was why she was so troubled.

“My beautiful Leonessa, I'm no saint either. I have tortured and murdered people without any ounce of regret or mercy. You and I, we are no match made in heaven. We are a match made in the deepest depths of hell.” Ace said with love and pride. No matter what she did in the past or how many people she killed and would probably continue to. He loved her. And trusted her wholeheartedly.

Kaida finally opened her eyes and stared at him. “I'm glad I met you” She whispered and he didn't know why but it sounded like a goodbye which made his heart ache.

“I'm glad you are mine” Ace whispered in return, making her smile faintly.

“Let's go to this family dinner, now shall we?”Ace said, focusing back on the road ahead.
