Chapter Twenty-One

She kissed me. She kissed the Devil. Only a beautiful soul like hers would kiss the damned.
-Daniel Saint

"Come on Princess," Xavier says. "Get up."

"No." I groan, holding Demon closer to me -only to peek a eye open to meet the blue sparkles. "Your the only wolf that loves me."

"You're so fucking melodramatic." The Devil snorts, crossing his arms.

I didn't say he could touch me, so unless he gets desperate it's just talk from here on out.

Rolling my eyes, I turn on my side and bury my head into his pillow.

Stupid school.

Bah.

"We're gonna be late." Xavier says. "Even Ollie is already up."

"She's younger." I grunt. "More energy."

"Tick tock." He says, taping his watch annoyingly.

"No, we have two hours before school starts. I take like ten minutes to get ready." I say, relaxing into the sheets.

"But me and Cal always get to school early." Xavier protests. "And I have to drop my sister off."

"Good for you?" I frown. "I have my own car."

"Yeah," I can feel the Devil smirking behind me. "Jessie is taking that since she needed to go home and get her school bags. So you're with me."

"I don't want to be with you." I grumble. "You annoy me."

"À contredire." Xavier says, and I curse his french classes for making him sound so sexy. "You're my girlfriend for a reason."

"A reason I'm starting to doubt."

"You're so rude."

"Says the Devil."

"Can I touch you yet?" Xavier asks, his voice a whine.

I pause, wanting to feel his warmth but really really not wanting to get out of bed. "No."

The bed dips, I freeze as his muscular cars cage me in -still not touching me.

"How about now?" He breaths, heat emitting off of him.

The Devil doesn't know how much I love his hell fire, doesn't know that just the fact I can feel his body temperature right now is enough to make me relax and want to sleep even more.

I grin into his pillow case, cuddling closer to Demon. "Nope."

He groans, flopping down beside me making the bed shake at his movements.

This is one massive bed, due to how tall he is he needs one.

In my bed he has to scrunch up -something I make fun of him for which backfires because of how short I am.

Growing teenagers.

Bah.

"But we need to go." Xavier continues to protest me staying in bed. "Everyone else is up."

"Then just drop Liv off and come back for me." I mumble, sleep catching up to me. "I hope Jessamine told you the water thing doesn't work for me."

"She did." The Devil answers stiffly. "I have other alternatives."

My curiosity grows at this.

"Which is?"

"Letting Liv put makeup on you and hiding the wipes." He says smugly, watching my body grow tense. "Yeah, that's a plan right there."

"Asshole," I sit up, turning over to glare at him. Xavier gives me a feral grin and a wink. "Ugh."

My tiredness catches up to me as I face plant into his hard chest, sighing deeply at the warmth that washes over me. "Why are you so comfortable?"

"I'm not comfortable," Xavier lies. "You're just lazy."

"Now who's rude?" I ask, looking up at him through my lashes.

"Still you," The Devil replies back, still smirking. "Remember to grab my jersey from my closet while you get dressed."

"I get to wear it?" I squeak, having completely forgotten it's game day.

He chuckles, the sound vibrating through my chest. "Well yeah. You're lucky our school colors are grey and blue."

"Why?" I ask, hoping my half awake brain is the reason why and I'm not genuinely being stupid.

"Because," Once again the Devil looks feral. "You're hot but those colors do wonders on you."

I raise a eyebrow at this, he raises a hand from around my waist to scratch the back of his neck. "Been listening to my best friend lately, eh?"

"Yeah," Xavier nods. "With you gone for two weeks she was the only chick around and your personality wasn't around to mute all the girlishness."

I blink at him as he smirks, "Did you just imply I was guy-like?"

"Yep." He shrugs.

"And you say you're not gay," I mutter with a eye roll, looking back I find with great pleasure that I just demolished whatever smirk he had on.

It's then I notice how icy my hands really are, with a small smirk of my own I run my frigid hands down his chest making him shiver before I stuff them under his body.

The Devil curses under his breath, tensing the back muscles my palms were against. "Emma," He scolds. "You're ice."

I giggle against his abdomen. "I know, but you're so warm."  I say, sighing deeply. "My own personal heater."

"I'm not your personal anything," Xavier grunts, making me pout slightly and cuddle into him more. "And you need to move. We're gonna be late. Hey," He pauses, making me look back up at him where he flexes his hands. "I can touch you now."

Squeaking at the realization I try to roll over, only to have my waist caught in his tight grip. "No," I moan. "I don't want to get up."

"Stop acting immature," The Devil scolds me. "It's unbecoming of you."

"Says you." I snort, letting him carry me down the hall -to the bathroom I know he's already set my clothes away at, all I need left is his jersey.

Xavier grunts, seemingly offended. "What does that mean?"

"It means that I could say quite a few things about you and immature, you go around biting people like a teething two year old." He scoffs but I simply huff and keep going. "What am I supposed to do with the likes of you?"

"Seeing as you like my biting I'd say you don't need to do anything." He says, I can feel the smugness in his voice and see it lining his features when he carefully sets me down on the counter.

I roll my eyes at him, glaring when the Devil flicks my nose.

"I think you've grown quite attached to the likes of me." Glancing down at himself Xavier smirks widely. "And you love what the likes of me can do to you."

Blushing I shove at his chest, trying to make him stumble back from the safe spot he had between my thighs but my plan instantly backfired.

Instead of moving back or falling like I hoped he would the Devil grabs my hips, making me squeal as we crash into the wall.

My legs tighten around him as he holds up all my weight and despite my glare Xavier still manages to grin in such a feral way that confidence seems to ooze out of him, then, out of all things, he squeezes my ass.

I gasp lightly, but he only winks.

"Nice improvise Princess, I think it really set the mood." He mocks me.

"Whatever," Grumbling, I climb down from Xavier only to be pulled back into his chest and for him to cup my cheek in a massive palm. The Devil's chuckles bounce around the walls, and I curse myself when I only redden. "Shut up!" I hiss at him.

I regret this when he switches our positions, pressing me against the wall with his hips fitted into mine. "I will," Xavier's voice is deeper than normal, and with his voice I applaud him being able to do that sounding sexy while managing to not be Morgan Freeman Junior. "But...you might moan a little."

The Devil's lips press into mine before I can even reply, shutting me up indeed.

And then he's pressing our hands together, intertwining our fingers before raising them above our heads.

His chest presses against my own, adding the weight of his body on me.

Just as things get a little too heated for what was supposed to be a small make out session Xavier suddenly pulls away, biting my lip.

I look up at him, dazed as he drops my limp hands to my side and smirks while taking a large step back. "Car, fifteen minutes Princess. Meet me there, or I will come back in and let Liv do all the talking."

"Huh?" I lamely reply, my mind trailing to her previous temper-tantrums. "O-okay."

Still being dazed when he leans forward and kisses the top of my head, all I can do is watch with side eyes and swollen lips as he disappears from sight.

Teasing teenagers.

Bah.

Me and Jessamine cheer our lungs out as we witness the school Devil score the winning goal.

With Cal as goalie, preventing any scoring for the other team and Xavier as the main striker my school's soccer team is the best in state.

They've proved that since they made it to Varsity Soccer.

I quickly discovered that Xavier's extra blue jersey was a dress on me, the thing literally goes down to my knees. So I snuck a belt around my waist, shoved some of my good black lace underwear on underneath as it was slightly see-through and called it a day -after adding some grey pumps I found laying in the back of my car.

Cute, but comfortable.

Jessie did my hair, styling it in one of those cute messy buns that are the exact opposite of the monstrosity I stick on my head after a party.

As always, a refused make up and her waving a weird purple bottle in my face made me gag from the smell.

Who does that to themselves?

And why?

Tough people.

Bah.

But more importantly, my Wolf boy just won the game!

My best friend wraps her arms around me, screaming in my ear and bouncing up and down like a toddler on crack.

Never mind, she'd be calmer if she was a toddler on crack.

Searching through the line of soccer players take less than five seconds to find the Devil, him smirking in the center besides the Angel with all of his team mates clasping him on the back.

He just got them to Regional.

Instantly I tear through the bleachers, bumping my way through the crowd with Jessie right on my heels.

Xavier isn't prepared to catch me when I dive into his chest, and stumbles back a foot before catching me. "Congrats! Good job, you're so awesome at this what int the hell possessed you to do that?"

Pun intended.

His hands clamp around my waist, pulling me straight to his chest as he chuckles before kissing my cheek. "Thanks Princess, I guess."

This gets my attention on how sweaty he is and I cringe away from him.

"You're gross Xavier," I insult him, pushing at his hard chest. "Move idiot."

The stupid Devil only holds me closer. "Nope."

"But you're all sweaty." I wrinkle my nose at him, despite him not even smelling bad.

"So? I can make you all sweaty too." Xavier winks, I blush at the double meaning."

I groan, prying at the unmovable hands around me. "Just give up and go shower. I'm all yours, promise."

Xavier's smirk deepens as he scans over me, nodding in approval -I did say I was all his after all.

"Yes ma'am." He grins, and it's feral.

"What am I?" I drawl lazily. "Thirty."

Once again his gaze drops over me, for such a short time I know he didn't see anything anyway -it was just for show. "You definitely look it."

I huff and give him a single finger in response.

The Devil ruffles my hair before walking away, thankfully to go shower and change.

"Not a chance, I'm celebrating my victory with my girl." He sends a wink to me. "Nothing's going to stop that."

Though he clearly didn't mean it that way to me- -as we both know the Angel and Demon are taking me and my best friend to dinner with their parents while a baby sitter is with Liv- -I end us blushing anyway because of the double meaning.

The one his team mate instantly take to.

I grumble darkly and crossing my arm over my chest, sending him a small glare which the Devil returns with a large smirk.

"Have fun," The soccer player clasps my boyfriend on the shoulder, instantly making the male shoot him daggers and pull away from the contact. "Sorry man, anyway I'm heading to the party."

After watching him talk to him team, then best friend for a few minutes I realize something, Macy wasn't confused or lying when she said Xavier doesn't like to touch people.

He honestly isn't comfortable with it.

"So what the hell?" I whisper, my eyes narrowing at his own blue ones.

Xavier, who was previously starting a conversation with Cal, stopped abruptly when he realized my suspicious gaze.

When I refuse to answer him, just tilt my head to the side, he brushes it off and continue to talk to Calum while shooting me glances.

Why can I touch him when any other person makes him pyshically recoil, glare and make him tell them to fuck off, and if they don't, threaten them.

What makes me so special?

Or am I only allowed to touch him when he's expecting it, after he asks.

He's never seemed to have a problem with this, then again I've never really asked.

Great, now my curious mind won't make me not test it.

Without warning I wrap my arms around his waist, making him jump slightly at the sudden contact, but his hands wrap around me and land on my waist without hesitation.

"Huh." I huff, raising my hands to cup his cheeks.

The Devil raises a eyebrow at me, but says nothing, he doesn't wince or even look the slightest bit uncomfortable either.

"What the hell?" I whisper again.

Seriously, nothing should make me special.

And he's been like this since 7 Minutes In Heaven.

When he barely even knew me...even then he practically rip the Chandler's head off when he touched his shoulder, but held me to his chest no problem.

"Do I have something on my face?" Xavier asks, probably beyond confused at this point. I shake my head, pulling him closer as I stand on my toes so our lips are only inches apart. "Then why are you looking at me like that."

He whispers his last sentence, and I realize it as a act of gentleness when I'm so close to him.

Why is he only gentle with me?

Final test.

"Kiss me." I say.

Surprise flickers behind the blue, but he holds me tighter and leans down further.

I meet him half way in what turns to be a quick, sweet kiss that still managed to send shivers up my spine.

Popping my eyes open with a small smile I realize with a start he's already watching me, looking deep into his observations.

"What's this about Emma?" Xavier asks, removing one hand from my hips to gently nudge up my chin so he has clear access to my entire face. "Are you okay?"

His warm breath fanning over me makes heat run through my system, and I feel myself blush more as I take in just how close we were standing.

"Yeah, I am." I breathe, wrapping my arms around his neck so I can place my lips by his ear. "Why are you so gentle with me, but so rough with other. What makes you wince at their touch but like mine. Why am I the exception?"

Upon hearing my questions the Devil tenses slightly under me, hands move up to encase my waist between his massive palms as he whispers back. "That's a conversation for another day Princess, let's get to Applebee's before Mom kills me."

Accepting the fact he wasn't going to tell me I leaned back down.

With a smirk he makes our height difference known as my idiotic Wolf boy places his arm on my head.

I shove him away from me, rolling my eyes before beginning to stomp to where I see the Angel waiting by his car and Jessamine by his side.

With pleading eyes I turn towards her, "Please, please switch boyfriends with me."

Cal laughs while Xavier gives off an annoyed growl, Jessamine starts to giggle madly.

"Just for the car ride," She responds, making me and Cal smirk while the Devil makes a face and backs away instantly. "But when we get there Angel's all mine."

"I won't complain with that." I shrug, quickly getting in and locking the door before Xavier can stop me.

He glares at me from outside, and I know it's because Jessie is bouncing up and down next to him.

Cal laughs while climbing in, rolling down my window enough so we can hear them while she leads the way to his car.

"Come on, boyfriend, I don't want to be late." My best friend sings. "Hurry up, boyfriend. I'm getting impatient."

"I can tell. Don't call me  your fucking boyfriend and I don't give a shit if you want to be late or not we'll get there when we get there." Xavier growls, but she only giggles again and makes the mistake of grabbing onto her arm.

He rips himself from her, taking a wide step back. "Don't fucking touch me again or I'll-" Thankfully the Devil cuts himself off with a shaky breath. "Get in."

Beside me I notice Cal's eyes widen as for once, his girlfriend does what she's told.

She's smarter than I give her credit for.

Jules isn't.

Dumb people.

Bah.

"Well that was eventful." I mutter under my breath. "But at least Jessie got a new man out of it."

At this Calum bursts out laughing, not affected at all by my words.

A true friend, boyfriend too.

He's not worried, even if Xavier looks the way he does.

Hot teenage boys.

Bah.
