Listening to my music the aggressive lyrics boil my anger as I push myself harder and harder to the extreme. I rest near the river for a quick break and hold on to the rails as I stretch my muscles.

I carry on moving and feel the beat of my heart keep in time to the music. The adrenaline is a rush and I keep going, doing another 2 mile run.

I turn round a corner and see my friend Nathan. He waves at me and a small smile played on my lips and I jog briskly towards him.

"Hey Nathaniel" I said grinning.

"Hello Avriella" he says smiling.

I love the nicknames we always give each other even if it sounds a bit cringe, we have known each other since we were kids and I think of him as my brother more than a friend.

"Some hard hitting running you were doing there" he said.

"Yeah I know. Mr Damocles asked me to do the cross country race against other schools." I said casually shrugging my shoulders as though it was no big deal.

"Oh really...You know you were always a runner ever since we were kids." He said punching my shoulder playfully.

"pleasssseee do not mention the olden days! I still have nightmares when you dared me to eat that worm." I said shuddering.

"Ha oh yeah! And the funny thing was you actually ate it!" He said laughing at the recalled memory.

We talked and walked some more, laughing till my checks had hurt. "I should go Nath. Lila would be worried as to where I am. She would be panicking."

"Yeah okay. I will see you at school tomorrow. Apparently we have a new student joining our class."

"Great what fun!" I said sarcastically.

"Bye Nathaniel".

"Bye Avriella".
