A/N: Kuchisake-Shonen: The Slit-Mouth Boy

Some say the urban legend is similar to the Kuchisake-Onna: The Slit Mouth Woman.

However...

Legend holds that several years ago, in a suburban town was terrorized by a man whose beautiful face had been grotesquely disfigured with a Glasgow smile, also known as a cheshire grin.

Roaming the streets wearing a long red ski parka and carrying large scissors, the man would approach his young victims and, while removing the mask, ask if he was pretty. The victim's response, if it were the wrong one, would almost always lead to their violent death.

The legend of the Kuchisake-Shonen came many generations after the Kuchisake-Onna. One version of the story says he was a prince in the 1600s who was married to a particurally hateful princess.

The prince was very popular with the ladies, and some versions of the story say that he may have cheated on his wife once or twice. The princess, feeling jealous that her husband got more attention with the ladies than she did with the men, attacked him and cut his mouth to his ears, screaming, "No one's gonna think you're so handsome, now!"

Other versions say he was once the decreased male lover of a slave trader. Disgusted by the way his lover was treating the slaves, he then had snuck down into the cages and set them all free. Angry that all the money he would've got for the slaves, the slave trader cut the boy's mouth to his ears as punishment, letting him bleed to death...

Kiyoshi: Now most of those stories of the slit mouth boy are common...But...this one serves at Yongedu's High Most popular.

Yuri: You mean the one on the blog...

Chibi was confused. What blog? No one ever mentioned a blog here at Yongedu High about slit mouth boy.

Kiyoshi: Yes...However...that blog was taken down many years ago since the incident took place...

In the years of 1970's at Fudo High. A young boy whom was loved for his beauty by his parents and close peers.

He had such a pretty face.

His face was so beautiful that could have been feminine and he was often mistake as a girl.

But one day...

The other kids started to get jealous of the boy's beauty. So they begin to bully him.

Chibi: (Oh no...)

Yuri:....

Kiyoshi: They would call him names like 'Faggot' or 'Bitch' just for having a 'beautiful' face....

He paused for a second before continuing.

Kiyoshi: But here comes the worse part...After school, some of the male students dragged him to the bathroom and held him down. One of the boys pulled out scissors and motioned for his face. The boy begin to scream and cry for help but to no avail...so they...begin to crave his face into a large cheshire smile.

Yuri gasped horrified while Chibi felt sick to his stomach.

Chibi: (...All that because his face looked feminine...What is wrong with these people?!)

Kiyoshi: The boys begin to laugh and laugh. And one of them said 'No one going to think you're pretty now!'

Chibi: What horrible kids...

Kiyoshi: Luckily the assault didn't go unnoticed because a female teacher caught them. With that, the kids were arrested and the boy was sent to the hospital...However....he succumbed to his wounds and died on the way to the hospital...

Chibi:.....

Yuri:.....

Kiyoshi: The boys who were arrested...were killed a few years later. Cause of deaths were the same as the other boy. Large cheshire grins carved onto their faces but their eyes showed mutual horror. Blood was seen on the walls that said...

"AM I STILL PRETTY?"

Yuri: So that poor boy...became the Kuchisake Shounen and killed them...?

Kiyoshi: Pretty much yep...Some rumors say...He still haunts the hallways of the East Wing of  the school because that's where the male bathrooms were at when the assault took place...

Chibi: Then that's where we're headed then. If we want to curse to end. We start little by little.

Kiyoshi: Then let's get the elevator...if it still works... it's the fastest way to the East Wing.

The three survivors found the elevator some time later and we're miraculously astonished to see that it still works.

When they got on and Yukime pressed the one of the buttons which leads to the East Wing.

As the door closes.

They all stopped when they heard running and jumped when claw like hands appeared on the door with long black hair staring back at them followed by a blood-curdling scream.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!"

...before the hands slowly went down the door until they weren't seen again...

Chibi:....What just happened?

Yuri:....I-I don't know...

Kiyoshi: Let's pretend we didn't see that for now...

Chibi: Agree...

*Later*

They will have an encounter with the Slit Mouth Boy....

Kiyoshi: So remember what I said...We have to be on guard once again facing the entity.

Chibi and Yuri nodded as they all were now headed near the boys bathroom.

Yuri: I'm a little nervous...

Chibi: Don't worry. I am too.

Kiyoshi: Try not too. Ghosts can smell fear.

Yuri: R-Really?!

Kiyoshi only shrugged but that didn't ease off any weariness for Yuri. Chibi just thought he probably was doing that to scare her.

Then something was plugged back into his head that made him remember something.

Chibi: Hey Kiyoshi-!

Kiyoshi: We're here....

The three students were now near the boys bathroom in the East District. Just staring at the place where the assault took place all those years ago can make you feel nervous like Yuri had said.

Yuri: -Gulp-

She hid behind Chibi as the boy could feel her fear radiating off her body.

Before he could reassure her that everything will be okay, Kiyoshi spoke once again in a harsh whisper.

Kiyoshi: He's here.

Everything goes tense as the halls went silent. A misty fog appears in the boys bathroom as a small figure stepped out.

It was a boy who looked around the ages 10-12. He wore a black gakuran uniform that had some blood on it. His hair was short and his skin was really pale...

The expression on his ghostly face as blank and his mouth..was covered with a mask that had a cheshire grin on it.

The three students didn't move nor spoke a word as they watched the boy stood there until a creepy giggle was heard coming from a ghost.

Finally he spoke in a dark raspy voice

Boy: AM I PRETTY?

Chibi:....

Yuri:....

Boy:....AM I PRETTY?

Chibi: (Fuck?! What should I say?!! If I say yes, he'll kill us. If I said no. He'll still kill us. There's got to be someway to avoid death again.)

The boy came closer...and closer...

The ghost became very impatient...

He felt like they were ignoring him. It's not polite to ignote someone when they ask you a question. It's rude.  How dare they? He can't have that.

He absolutely disagree with that!!!

Boy: I'll ask again...

To their horror, he takes off the mask revealing his carved smile.

Boy: "AM I STILL PRETTY?!!!!"

He pulled out giant shearing scissors waiting for the opportunity to attack. Just staring at the deadly bloody weapon could make anyone stomach dropped.

Chibi: (Oh wait! I got something! I hope this work.)

Chibi: Y-YOU'RE AVERAGE OR SO AND SO!

The Kuchisake-Shonen stared in confusion before looking at the others for answers.

Yuri: Y-Yeah! Average!

Kiyoshi: Average or so and so... That's all...

Chibi: Plus. What happened to you...You didn't deserve that. You're perfect just the way you are.

Boy:............Thank you...

The boy then vanished which brought great relief to the survivors.

Chibi grimaces at the thought of almost dying once again. But luckily his quick thinking save them all in the nick of time.

Yuri: Smart Thinking Chibi-kun.

Chibi: Thanks.

Kiyoshi: Glad that's over...Still more work to do...

Yukime looked at the bathroom for a moment as he decided to check it out. Curiosity curling in his mind as he went inside and stopped at the scent of death filling the air.

What he saw next almost made him sick.

There were more dead bodies of students who fall victim to the Kuchisake-Shonen. All of the dead bodies had an cheshire grin carved on their faces as their eyes showed intense pain and agony written all over. Blood was everywhere and maggots were also seen sinking into the decomposed bodies.

Chibi: (Fuck! That's sick!...Some of them looked recent. How many did he killed...? Ya know what...I don't wanna know...)

Yukime then found the next talisman lying on the sink. He felt the soul power swelling inside as he hold it.

Chibi: Now we're getting somewhere.

Suddenly, he heard a strange sound coming from behind him.

It sounded like...licking sounds...?

He turned his head from the stalls and walked out. Kiyoshi and Yuri, who stayed outside the bathroom, followed his gaze.

Chibi: What the-?!

Standing before him at the end of the hallway, with black fur and red eyes staring back from the distance...Chibi couldn't believe what his eyes are seeing...

Chibi: Is that a cat...?
