The Dancing Queen

Part 25

Nandu is busy lost in herself but suddenly loud music got her out of trance , all the sizzlers are happy dancing with amna bcoz she is too funny like a kid.   They all are enjoying the fights of Manik and amna .

Later that night , all the sizzlers left to their homes after practice . Nandu still sat on the couch without saying anything . No one noticed her bcoz she sat on the corner as furniture is moved to the corners for dance practices , Manik is dragged away by amna to the top floor , cabir lifted navya as she is tired and left to their room   , nandu  felt bad that none of them saw her or remembered but she thought " kaash meri amma yaha hoti , the only person who loves me above all ", she has tears in her eyes . She didn't feel like going back to room , she just stared outside the glass bcoz the couch is just near to balcony . She felt like she is loosing something precious from her life . Thinking all this to herself she don't know when but she fell asleep there .

Next morning ,

Nandu heard some noises and opened her eyes to see amna crying and Manik trying to convience her .

Manik : I swear yaar  , that I will never let you cry , I will convince mom dad . He said holding her face in his palms .

Amna : than what about marriage ??

Manik : do u think I can forget about it , everything is arranged , as I told u I can't see u crying .

Amna : I love u Manik , ur the best . Saying she hugged him .

Nandu felt something broken in her heart seeing Manik leaving with amna . She got up with great difficulty to move to her room as still there is pain in her leg . She reached the bed and  tried to sleep .

The room of her door opened revealing shakti and Charlie .nandu closed her eyes acting to be in sleep .

Charlie : she is still sleeping shakti  ..

Shakti : may be pain kam nahi hua, let her sleep .

Charlie : but Manik asked us to be there for the wedding .

Shakti : she couldn't stand , we will tell him Nandu is resting .

Charlie : anyways they are going to come back here , so she can wish them at home ...

Shakti : you are right let's go , saying both the girls left .

Nandu woke up after they left and got ready . She is having unbearable pain but she wanted to get rid of pain bcoz she wants to practice   . She managed to limp towards the lift , she came down . Watchman came running to help her  on seeing her limp.

Nandu : it's okay , I can manage uncle. She declined politely.

Watchman : tum mujhe humesha madat karti ho beti , kabhi toh mujhe karne do . He said with a smile , holding her hand and made her sit on a bench.

Nandu : I can go uncle , saying she is about to stand . But he stopped her .

Watchman : let me call a rickshaw , he says and calls a auto rickshaw and nandu thanked him and left to the nearby small  hospital .

She took the appointment and sat on the bench waiting for her chance . She got it checked and made sure it's just a small sprain . Took  the prescription and bought medicines and left to dance class .

She sat there listening to music and composing steps in her mind . After taking pain killers she even danced for sometime and stayed there whole day .

Even though apartment is near to dance class she couldn't walk , so she took an auto again and reached back. She thought of going later to apartment and sat in the garden there .  She got a call from her chachi .

Chachi : Hello nandu , kaise ho.  She asked lovingly .

Nandu : I'm fine chachi , amma kaise hae. She asked immediately .

Chachi : don't panic okay , I thought u should know this .

Nandu : kya hua chachi , she asked with tears .

Chachi : ur amma fell unconscious yesterday , don't know y her blood pressure got hyped . I called the doctor , now she is fine . But later I got to know she saw some news on tv and this happened . When I confronted her , I got to know it's ur dad's birthday and she saw that on news  . She explained whatever happened .

Nandu : he is  not my dad I have only my mom thats it  and chachi please take care of my mom I have an audition in two months from now after that I will come to mom for sure,  till than please . She requested her chachi .

Chachi : don't worry , I'm sending ur mom to your Dadu  place , she will be good in his  presence bcoz she is scared of your dadu and also ur dad's name also won't come out there in that place bcoz ur dadu , dadi banned him long back when he left u both  , he will take care of your amma health .

Nandu : thank u chachi, she spoke for some more time and cut the call .

She saw few kids playing in the garden with their mother and father . A particular duo attracted her . It's a small girl on swing and her father moving the swing making the girl giggle . After sometime he carried his daughter on his shoulders .

Nandu : not all are lucky , I hate u dad . Sorry not dad my mother's husband , I hate u so much . All bcoz of ur love my mom left her goals , she became vulnerable . She feels like she lost her world . But I don't even want to see ur face , but I will show u my sucess . All bcoz of you I stopped trusting people , thats true people only cheat . There is no place for love in my life , only dance . I thought I have feelings for manik but that became a distraction in my life . I should never get distracted by any feelings , all I want is to do dance and achieve my career.

Thinking all this to herself she limped back to the lift and reached the pent house . She opened the door to hear loud music coming out from the hall , it's dark with disco lights and she can see a party going on.

She thought not to disturb anyone , so she silently left to her room . After few minutes there is a knock on her door and punit , Dharmesh came there . They dragged her out forcefully .

Nandu : bhai plz , I want to rest .she said to both of them bcoz she don't want to meet Manik after his marriage.

Punit : guys nandu is here. He shouts and music stops , lights get on .

Manik : cheers to the newly married couple, he shouts holding a glass of champagne . Nandu just looks at him .

Charlie : time for couple dance ...saying she pushed a guy and amna to dance .

Nandu is surprised bcoz she saw Manik dancing with sharmistha ( his mom ) , rest all danced in pairs .nandu just stood there with punit bcoz even Dharmesh left to dance with Vrushali .

Punit : I like Manik a lot now , who dances with mom all the time . U know nandu we thought u will stay home where did u go ?? He asked making her sit on a chair .

Nandu : where did u guys go ?? She asked him ignoring what he asked her.

Punit : amna ki shaadi attend karne .

Nandu : what ??

Punit : actually amna Loves that guy Amit , this is only known to cabir , Manik and his mom . Amna father's thought to get her married' through a business deal ,so cabir said the idea of  registar marriage and we all helped him to bring this guy out of his house .

Nandu : who is he ??

Punit : Amit  khanna , khanna group of industries chairman ka beta . He loved amna  from college days .

Nandu : but won't they search for these both.

Punit : they will be living in Malhotra's house with manik's mom dad , bcoz his dad loves amna like his own daughter . He is the one who signed the witness today . Knowing how powerful Malhotra's are , no one will dare to hurt these both . He said but nandu didn't  react anything .

After dancing for a long time everyone had dinner . Sharmistha left taking the newly wedded couple to her home . Rest all left to their homes including cabir and navya.  Only Manik and nandu are left in the apartment .

Nandu just sat in the balcony looking at the stars . Manik came there with two cups of coffee. 

Manik : so madam how's your leg ??

Nandu : it's good , she said simply taking the coffee cup bcoz her head is bursting with pain , she really needed coffee.....

Manik : sorry ... He said looking at her directly....

she heard him say. ....

Nandu : why ?? She questioned him back .

Manik : bcoz I didn't take care of you , I got busy with Amna . Did u go to doctor should I call uncle to check on you ..... He said continuously making her smile.

Nandu : no thanks Manik , I went to hospital I can take care of myself.

Manik : but I want to take care of you , he said looking at her .

Nandu felt something different in the way Manik is seeing her .

Nandu : r u drunk ?? She asked him after sometime .

Manik : no I just took few sips of champagne that can't make me drunk na, he said and looked at the stars ....

Nandu : let's sleep , she said getting up from chair   . But Manik held her hand and made her sit back  ......

Manik: can I ask u something ??

Nandu nodded in yes , but she felt something different in him .

Manik took out a rose and chocolate from his pocket and sat on his knees as nandu is sitting on a chair ....

Manik : will u come on a date with me ?? He asked her directly without any bluffing ....

Nandu looked at him in shock but composed herself bcoz she doesn't want to believe in love .

Nandu : sorry Manik but I have a sprained leg , she said with a simple smile not intending to hurt him .

Manik : I don't want to give u fake promise of a fairy tale date  , but I want to have a date with you , in this balcony here itself . U don't have to dress in any frocks or anything , simple pajama night dress is enough , u don't have to dance for me but I will sing for u , a date with no extra artificial things , only u and me under the stars and moon .

Nandu didn't know what to say bcoz his eyes did magic on her , she just closed her eyes and remembered her mom . She is about to reject but heard him again...

Manik : I know u don't like love and all bcoz of your father , but not everyone is your dad nandu . A single chance.

Nandu : u have many girls following u Manik , please take them on a date . Why me ??

Manik : to know why I asked only you and not those girls , come join me here Tomorrow night same place , same time . I will wait for u . I hope u come atleast to know the reason why I asked u on  a date not anyone else .

Nandu didn't know what to say ..

Manik lifted her in his arms ,making her hold him in fear .

Manik : sorry for not taking time for u in the past two days , let's get u to bed . It's late u need to sleep . Saying he took her inside and made her lay on bed .

Nandu is just looking at Manik , he covered her in blanket and moved to go out but returned back and placed the rose and chocolate on the side table  and kissed her forehead and left the room leaving nandu in a pool of thoughts .
