Chapter Five
(Don't ask why I put this. Just watch.
And enjoy. You're welcome. :)
It has nothing to do with the chapter, so technically you COULD skip it, but then I'd have to kill you. Let's not do that. I don't want to have to hide another body..... I MEAN WHAT?!
ANYWAY, to the actual chappie :) )
Monday, December 24th 2018, Yuvia POV
Jade was sickly pale at the campfire, and twisting the ring around her finger back and forth.

(the ring that Jade has on)
It's a trait that Nico has, and it must've rubbed off on her. She was probably freaking out about everything that's been going on like the rest of us. It's Christmas Eve, Travis Stoll is dead and his funeral is tomorrow, on Christmas day, and Chiron that has finally agreed to let this death prophecy commence at Apollo's insist.
I'm pretty sure that tonight we're going to be discussing the topic that's been looming over our heads; the prophecy.
Chiron appeared with an announcement. "Tonight, we shall chose which heroes to venture on our 'forbidden' quest." A ghost of a smile rippled through the crowd at Chiron's sarcasm. His voice was strong, I noticed, but his expression was tired, like a old man who missed one too many naps. (great comparison, I know.)
"Do we have any volunteers?" The half man, half-horse, man asked the lot of us.
"I volunteer as tribute. " Liv yelled, her voice slicing through the virtually still air. I shivered, hearing Liv's voice cut through otherwise silent places didn't exactly bring good memories to surface. I almost laughed, but then remembered where we were, and stopped myself.
I think I saw Chiron nod, but if he did, it was a small one that you could've missed if you blinked. Liv better not just be going on this quest to get her mind off the death of her older brother. I wouldn't blame her if that was the case, but this is sorta a bad omen quest where a person could very well die. Well.... actually, that's most quests, but this one clearly states at least one person's doom, and not to mention that this stupid quest broke our oracle, so extra dangerous. If she's just doing this to escape her grief, 1) it's not going to work, or at least for very long, and 2) she could be seriously hurt. Liv got up and stood next to Chiron.
My legs felt like lead, which probably can't be a good thing. That line was bothering me.... the 'the master of rain shall feel great pain but from it will get great gain' who else could that possibly be..? I felt my heavy legs begin to moves, and before I knew it, the words " I'll go. " had slipped out of my mouth. Well, crap. No going back now. I followed Liv's lead and approached Chiron, standing at his other side.
I glanced over the crowd, wondering who the last person to sign their death warrant would be. Multiple people looked like they wanted to protest. I saw the desperate look on Connor's face, begging Liv to sit down and to not do something reckless and get herself killed. Poor Connor has already had to go through Travis's death, and it's not even over yet. Connor still has to go through his (slightly) older brother's funeral tomorrow. A pang of guilt hit me when I realized a similar look on Olivia's face. Her eyes seemed to be trying to plead with me to sit down, and rip my guts out for being such an idiot. Sisterly love, am I right? (I have no sisters, so if this is unrealistic, IM SORRY. All I have are female cousins, and most are lots younger, or I hardly see :'( )
Rebel got up with a sigh. "you guys are making me feel guilt-tripped into doing this." she whined. She too joined the pair of us at Chiron's side.
I glanced at the crowd one last time, wondering if there would be any objections. Jade Stood quietly with a iron hard look in her eyes that said 'there is no way I'm staying behind'. Chiron began to protest, but stopped. Chiron then turned pale. "Oh no." I could've sworn I heard him whisper.
Apollo, being the idiot that he is, stepped up and said gleefully "Heroes, we shall venture together and save the world, and it'll be awesome!"
"We......?!" I half asked, half screeched at the top of my lungs.
"Of course WE!" Apollo responded happily. "Did you think I was going to let you use" he paused for dramatic effect "Public Transportation?!" he asked with a shiver. "Especially my girlfriend?" He continued, giving Liv an affectionate look.
I sighed. Even on this death mission, I couldn't escape one of my best friend's annoying boyfriend. Annoying, and immortal, so I can kill him or threaten to kill him.
I glanced at Chiron, hoping and that he would put a stop to this nonsense.
"I told him that if more than 3 demigods volunteered than he would be their chaperone." Chiron admitted with a sigh.
Liv was grinning happily, or at least as happy as you can seem whenever your oldest brother has been brutally murdered and you just signed up for a dangerous quest that could result in your death. I'm a peach, I know.
"And Apollo just seemed like the perfect choice for a chaperone?" Rebel asked with a raised eyebrow.
Apollo glared at his sarcastic daughter, "Not my first choice," Chiron said with a sigh, "But he'll do."
Apollo huffed, but offered no smart comeback.
"Are there anymore voluenteers?" Chiron asked hopefully. I scowled, seeing as he was proabably trying to replace me or something, because im younger.
Half a dozen hands shot up.
Dani. Izzy. Connor. Austin. Sherman stupidhead Yang.
Wow....
" No, these girls know what they're doing, there will be no need for replacements. " Apollo said defensively.
I silently thanked him. Huh, that was new. (XD sorry, not sorry.)
Defeated, Chiron announced that we would be dissmissed for our quest on the 26th, and to be prepared.
Yippee.
