*The Next Day*

Once we got up the next morning I was putting on some old clothes that were worn out I slide on my boots and some old ripped jeans and a camo tshirt and a hat so the mud doesn't get in my hair. We go downstairs and my mom asks from the kitchen "so what you kids doing today?". I smile at her and kiss her on the cheek and faith says "were going mud riding today so we will be out of your hair all day we might grab some food from my mom's for lunch". She smiles at us and she says "okay I expect a text or a call every two hours ladies just to check in I don't go into work today this isn't my weekend to work". We smile and after eating our cereal we get on our four wheelers mine was a artic cat and it was green and faith's was camo.

We drive all the way to the 'Alexander' property and as soon as we get there we pull up and see the guys come out of the house. We watch as they scream at us across the yard "come around to the back yard the trail is back here". We drive to the backyard and abel puts his helmet on and he asks "you wanna use my helmet mia? so you don't get mud in your hair?". I nodd and he hands me the helmet and once he helps me put it on jax hands faith his and then we were off to the strip pits behind his house and it stays muddy. We did dough nuts and faith and I was having so much fun I start to feel pain in my hand because I kept my finger on the gas and I didn't let up.

Once we pulled to a stop I remove the helmet and when abel see's me stop he pulls beside me and he asks "you okay?". I sling my hand in pain and I say "my hand is starting to hurt because I haven't let up on the gas and i'm starting to feel pain in my hand". He pulls my hand closer to but being careful not to hurt my hand and he says "here why don't you follow me back to the house and then park your four wheeler in the back and then you can ride with me the rest of the day". I shake my head at him "no you don't have to do that abel I mean i'll be okay" he raises a eyebrow at me and he replies "I don't want you to make your hand even worse so follow me i'm not taking no for an answer".

I smile and nodd at him and then we were off back to his house and after I park my four wheeler I hand him his helmet and I say "lets get dirty". He flashes me a thumbs up and then we were off and as he is going around the corners of the strip pits. My arms wrapped around him and I was laughing like crazy and so was he I can feel him chuckle from where my hands were placed on his abs. I don't think there was a moment where we weren't dirty this day has been so much fun. I don't get out much at all i'm usually a home body but today I had fun.

Once we got done riding and we were washing our clothes abel let me borrow some of his clothes which I was swimming in. We walk into the kitchen and I see lucian at the table reading the paper and he turns to me and smiles at me and he asks "hello ms maria". I smile at him and faith just goes and sits on the counter and jax stands beside her and lucian says "lunch is on the counter kiddo's". I see he made chicken sandwiches on texas toast and we talked about anything and everything and then lucian asks me "so how's your mom maria?". I flash him a sad smile "she's good she's at home she doesn't have to work today" he invites us outside onto the front porch and abel and the guys went to the pasture to see there horses.

I smile at them as they walk through the field and I ask "did you know my dad? if you knew my mom you must had knew my dad". His eyes soften and he shrugs and he says "she got pregnant after I left so I don't know who she was with". I bite my lower lip and watch as abel touches his horse 'Caliber' he runs right by abel and he puts his hands on his neck and caliber keeps running from him and he neighs loudly like he's laughing at abel. Then he turns to look my way and a smile crosses his face and one no doubt crosses mine. Lucian bumps my arm and he brings out a old picture from inside the house and I see in the picture of my mom standing beside luke he had his arm wrapped around her shoulders.

My eyes widened and I take the picture out of his hand carefully and I stare at the picture and then I get another flash and I see my mom and lucian arguing and she looks younger and so does lucian. Then she walks away from him and her hand glides over her stomach as tears roll down her cheeks. Once I get back to reality I get light headed and I nearly faint and lucian says "maria you okay?". He sits me back down on the rocking chair and he disappears into the house and he brings back a mixture of something and he says "here this should make you feel better". I smile at him and I smell of it and I ask "what is it?" he smiles at me and gets down beside me on his knee's and he replies "you don't wanna know just chug it".

I take a deep breath and then I throw back the shot glass and the minute it slide down my throat it tasted like 'vinegar' and 'ass'. I cough when I get it down my throat and then I feel a thousand times better than what I did. I sit the shot glass down and I turn to get a good look at him and I say "it's you your the guy my mom fell in love with when she was young aren't you?". He takes a deep breath and he lets go of my hand and leans against the railing and he says "yes I was". I take a deep breath and he says "sweety if I had known that she was pregnant when I left I would never had left I always dreamed of having a child being a dad is something I was born to do".

A smile crosses my face and he asks "when did your visions start coming in?". I run my hand through my hair I do that when I get nervous and I walk over to him and stand beside him and I say "when I was eight faith and I wanted to go riding on the trail and I touched fancy's side and I got a flash of fancy getting spooked in the woods by a snake and faith falling off of her and we went anyway and when it really happened I jumped off my horse and caught her she landed on me so I got most of the damage". His eyes widened and he asks "you got your visions at eight? that's impossible maria your powers should not had came in until you were at least seventeen". I shrug at him and he touches my forehead and then he says "you have a mental block it's starting to wear off". I shrug and he asks "why aren't you freaking out?" I roll my eyes and shake my head "this is just something i'm not afraid of I feel like i've always had a sixth sense".

I smile when I see abel still playing with the horses and luke stands beside me and I ask him "what is he? I know he's something I just don't know what". He chuckles and places his hand on my shoulder and he states "that is for him to tell you not me". I turn to look at him and he's already looking at me but he has a soft look in his eyes and I return his smile. He tosses his arm over my shoulder and I ask "did I get my power from your side?". He shakes his head at me and he continues "yes you did get it from me but you also got it from your moms side as well".

After our day I get on my four wheeler and then lucian runs up to us and he hands me a necklace and he says "listen maria you might think i'm trying to do this to stir things up with your mom but i'm not this is for your protection only do not let her remove it from your neck okay?". I turn to look at abel and I ask "is that why you've been hanging around me for him?". He shakes his head and he replies "our meeting was entirely coincendential fate brought us closer". I blush and couldn't get rid of the smile and he places the necklace around my neck it was a big locket and I smell of it and I ask "protection?". He nodds and we drive back to my house faith gets in her truck to drive home no doubt.

I look down at the picture in my hand and I slide it into my back pocket and I avoid my mom and just go to my room and get a shower and after I get dressed after my shower I run a hand through my wet hair. I look inside the mirror and look at the locket around my neck and I fiddle with it and I stare down at the picture on my vanity. I have no idea if I should tell my mom that I know about her little romance with luke is he really my dad? it's hard for me to tell because I am spitting image of my mom. I growl and grab the picture and walk downstairs to where I know my mom is she's most likely in her office. As soon as I open the doors and she looks up from her desk and she smiles at me and she asks "hey sweety how was riding with faith?".

Her eyes zero in on my necklace and then she looks at me and her eyes widened and I cross my arms over my chest she stands to her feet and I hold up my hand "i've got millions of questions and your gonna answer them truthfully". She nodds and she walks over to me and we stand face to face and her hand finds the locket and her finger glides over it and she says "that's a flashback". Her eyes found mine and she states "your ready to know come here". She walks over to the rug that was under her desk and she moves the rug out of the way to reveal a loose floor board and she removes the board and reveals a safe and when she put in the combination which was my birthday. She opens it up and brings out a very large book and she sits it on her desk and she turns to the very first page and it had a whole page of our family tree.

From my great great great great grandfather it dated back to all the way back to the 1850s and I read out loud "the Thornhill's,Blackstones have always been the vampire's personal witches". My eyes widened and I turn to her and she nodds at me and that's all I need as any kind of comfirmation from her and I sit down in the chair. She stands beside me and she places her hand on my shoulder. I don't shrug away from her touch and the next thing that came tumbling out of my mom's mouth left me flabbergasted.
