Holy crap.

Puberty hit Teddy like a truck.

But I guess now I see it. The hair, his dimples and that smile. Could me anyone melt like a popsicle on hot day.

Wait, hold up. Back pedal.

The Teddy that closed the door on me? Ditched me on my last day to have a pool party with the cool kids?

I just went on a 'date' with someone who hurt me the most. One of the many reasons why I am the way I am today.

Wow.

I flop on my bed.

I hear my door open followed by Charles voice.

"How was the party?" He asks
I prop myself up on my elbows and shrug.

"It was okay." I say.

Charles nods and looks like he wants to say something else.

And he does.

"Who was that boy?" He smirks.

I roll my eyes.

"Just the neighbor." I say.

"He's cute." Charles laughs.

"Charles!" I say throwing myself into my pillow.

"Just saying!" He laughs.

"Please stop. I am not going to talk about cute boys with you. That's weird!" I laugh.

"So admit it! You think he's cute!" Charles says pointing at me.

I throw a pillow at him.

"I'm going to bed Charles." I laugh.

"Alright Mary Grace. I hope you had a good night." He chuckles closing my door.

Surprisingly I did.

(Monday Morning)

"First day of School!" Sarah screams jumping on my bed.

"No!" I shout.

"Get up! Charles us making breakfast!" She screams tickling my sides.

I hate being tickled, so I basically fall off my bed.

"Sarah Michelle!" I shout and she sprints out.

Mom and my sisters returned yesterday. Anna Maria found an apartment right near her campus and will be moving in by next week.

She's really excited about her first apartment and won't shut up.

"Mary Grace you up?"

Speaking of the devil, she shouts.

"Yes Anna Maria." I shout back standing up.

"Get dressed." She shouts back.

First day of highschool. But my last first day. I have mixed emotions about it.

I'm happy because it's my senior year, but sad it's in a new school, and I don't have my friends to share the year with.

I hop in the shower then brush my teeth.

Last week, mom took me and Sarah school shopping and I got a few new outfits.

Specifically for the first day I purchased boyfriends jeans and a black tank top to wear with my new Adiddas.

"What the hell?" I shout looking at myself in the mirror.

"Mary Grace language!" I hear my mother shout.

My hair is just no cooperating with me today. I straightened it and it's already frizzing.

I decide to throw it in a messy bun on top of my head pulling some pieces out to frame my face.

I then apply a wave of mascara and my favorite lip balm.

Finished I grab my new bag and walk into the kitchen.

The smell of pancakes and syrup fill my nose.

Instead of sitting down I pour myself a glass of Orange juice and taking a sausage off of Sarah's plate.

"Get your own! " she basically growls.

"Why do that when I can take yours?" I say taking another one and running before she can attack me.

"Mary Grace be nice to your sister" Charles laughs.

"So who's driving me?" I say to no one in particular.

"I don't understand why you won't drive yourself Mary Grace." Anna Maria says slipping into a pair of wedges.

"You know how I feel about driving." I say giving her a glare.

"Yeah, yeah. Well when I leave next week you'll be taking the bus." She says patting my shoulder.

"The bus?" I gasp.

"That's like throwing me into the jungle." I say placing my hand over my heart.

"Its not that bad." Sarah says with a mouth full of pancake.

"Maybe not for monkey like you." I wink and she gives me a blank look.

"Why don't you ask that neighbor boy if he can give you a ride?" Charles asks with a grin.

"Neighbor boy?" My mom asks walking in.

"Boy?" Anna Maria laughs.

"Wow Charles. I thought we were close." I say shaking my head.

"Who's this boy?" Mom asks.

"Some guy." I deadpan.

Mom puts her hands up and takes piece of bacon.

"Do you mind if we leave now? I want to scope out the school one more time." I ask Anna Maria.

She sighs in response.

"I'll be in the car!" I shout walking out the door.

As I get into Anna Maria's car I look to my left to see a few cars parked out front Teddy's house, or Ryan's.

I wonder how his parents are. They were the sweetest people ever and his mom made the best cookies!

Anna Maria slides into the driver seat.

"Have everything?" She asks putting her seatbelt on.

I hold up my phone and my bookbag.

"All set." I say turning on the radio.

We set off on the road and it only takes ten minutes do us to arrive to my new school, Macon High. Home of the Macon Wolves.

"Still how I remember it." Anna Maria says pulling into the student Parking lot.

"But you never went here?" I say confused.

"True but I did get asked to that one dance remember?" She says.

"How couldn't i? You talked about it for days. 'Omg an eighth grader going to a ninth grade prom'! I mimic in a high voice.

"Oh shut up." She says waving me off.

"So I'll see you later. Have fun." She says as I get out.

I watch as she pulls out of the parking lot before heading in.

I received my schedule last week, I practically have it memorized but the hard part will be finding the classrooms.

I first start by locating my locker, which I near the science hall.

Once there I begin to search for my other classes which surprisingly are very close to one another.

Students start to pile in as I walk around.

I soon figure out that the science hallway is the busiest hallway and it will be he'll getting through there especially if my lockers located here.

After twenty minutes of being here a bell rings and people start to clear out.

"I guess that's my cue" I say to myself walking to my new History class.

Out front the classroom stands and older male, greeting people at the door.

"Welcome to History, I'm Mr. Hughes." He says giving me a wam smile. 

I return the smile and quickly find a seat right next to the door.

Okay, 60 minute class. That's ten minutes six times until your next class Mary Grace. You can do this.

Just then my phone buzzes.

Ryan (Teddy) : Why are you sitting in the front?

The text reads.

I tilt my head then turn to see Ryan next to Kyle.

"Just Mary!" Kyle shouts.

I give them a weak smile before turning back around.

Why me?
