(Volume 3) Part 8:Trusting Your Team.

Flashback At Mountain Glenn, 2 Years Ago (Raiden's POV) 

I've just entered Mountain Glenn, there are hundreds of us here...though I wonder what they could want with us again his spirit would be even more crushed to think that his own brother is involved in an underground crime network I glance at Neo who is also looking around before signing to her

Raiden(Sign):"Well, this definitely feels like it'd be the place where the big boss would be."

Neo(Sign):"I wonder what he looks like?"

Raiden(Sign):"Probably big, scary, has a big mustache and a deep voice."

Neo(Sign):"Oh so the opposite of Torchwick?"

Raiden(Sign):"Exactly." We both smile smugly at each other before Torchwick glances back at us

Roman:"I don't know what you both are saying but cut it out." We both roll our eyes as we continue forward. Buzzkill, anyways continuing on we see a woman with amber eyes and a red dress, a girl with brown skin and light green hair, and a guy with grey hair...hmm

Roman:"Oh, why hello gorgeous...I take it you're Autumn?" The woman with Amber eyes steps away from the two by her side and steps towards us...I'm not liking this

Autumn:"Correct, you must be Roman Torchwick...we've been expecting you. Though my true name isn't Autumn. My name is Cinder Fall." I rub my eye in a bit of pain as I glance over at Neo as she's glancing back before we focus back in on the conversation

Roman:"Well, Cinder. Might I ask WHY we're in an underground train system."

Cinder:"That will be revealed in time, come with me. I wish to view your resources and abilities." She turns around and I see a weird looking tattoo on her back...my eye kind of hurts around her so it'd be best to stay away from her if I can...

Roman:"Hold up, now why should I do that? We're here to understand why you're helping us, we're not here for a person that we don't know to inspect our supplies." I look at Torchwick confused. Cinder stops and turns back before walking towards Torchwick.

Cinder:"Oh Roman, have a little faith. We're here because we believe your abilities will be able to help us achieve our goal."

Raiden(Speaking):"And...what is that goal miss Cinder?" Cinder looks towards me before walking towards me, my eye hurts more and more with each step she takes as I begin to rub my eye...something's off in her

Cinder:"And who is this handsome young man?" She says while smirking at me while having her arms crossed, a chill runs down my spine as she does that.

Roman:"That would be Raiden. Who needs to learn that I ask the questions around here..." He glares at me...great now I'm in the spotlight.

Cinder:"Hmm...I sense something in you, something that could be very useful to us..." She walks closer towards me until she's face to face with me. My eye is hurting badly, she lifts her arm and holds my chin lightly, her eyes burn with an amber color and pain all of a sudden radiates from my eye as the flames from eye flow without my control. I'm frozen in place...can't...move, I'm terrified as I tremble in shock. Neo is looking at me worried as Roman just watches quietly. "Ah, so you're one of Leviathan's..." She lets go of me as I immediately collapse to my knees breathing heavily, she's chuckles a little. Just what is she...something about her power is just unnatural, like it doesn't belong to her...a faint ancient evil resides around her...I can feel it "I will need him and the girl for something. "

Roman:"For what exactly?" I look at Roman terrified

Cinder:"We need people to go deep undercover in Beacon to carry out our plan." he thinks for a moment before nodding. Cinder crouches so that she's looking directly at me "Now then, I have something special planned for you..." She smirks before getting up and walking away...I can only imagine what terrors are about to unfold...as she walks away the two people that were originally behind her walk with her, Neo comes and helps me up looking worried, Torchwick spins his cane in his hand. 

Roman:"So, what on Remnant did she do to you?" I remain silent... "Not talking huh?" I take out my scroll and begin typing

Raiden(Typing):"We can't work with her." Roman gives me a 'really' look

Roman:"And why is that?"

Raiden(Typing):"There's something seriously wrong here. Something big is going to happen due to these guys."

Roman:"Pssh, then that's exactly why we need to join them."

Raiden(Typing):"We'll be pawns to them!"

Roman:"And we'll be better off as pawns then being their enemies, we're joining them and that's final." He aims his cane at me "And if I hear you complain one more time then I'm killing (F), got me?" I glare at him as my eye flickers with fire "If I see that eye flicker anymore then I'm shooting you IN the eye."

Raiden(Speaking):"I will leave if you join her, I'm only here because I needed money FOR my brother, not to cause some uprising." Roman glares at you before laughing

Roman:"Oh Raiden, we both know that you won't leave, unless you want you and your brother to have a target painted on your backs every time you walk down the street." ...He's not wrong "So, how DOES it feel Raiden? That by trying to protect your little brother you are now putting him in danger..." My eye bursts into flames as Roman is about to pull the trigger before someone hits me in the neck...I collapse onto the ground...losing consciousness, I can tell by the shoes that it was Neo...this just isn't my day... 

1 Day Later (Raiden's POV)

I wake up as I'm...laying in a bed? I don't recognize where I am though...the floor is a smooth glassy dark color, I'm in a weird building too. I quickly get up...oh crap (F)! I immediately get up and look out the window to see where I am and...oh God...the entire area is filled with jagged glassy trenches, the sky is...red and the Shattered Moon is the only recognizable thing here...where on Remnant am I? That's not even the worst part, there are these huge black puddles on the ground...are...Grimm coming out of those? I got to get out of here, I immediately burst through the door, looking around frantically as I'm now in a weird room with a circular symbol in the middle I see two hallways, both leading down dark hallways... I don't know which one to choose but I choose the one on the right of me and sprint down I see two big doors and I open them to see...a table...with 6 people sitting down...I only recognize that one is Cinder, one has a ponytail with a crazed look on his face and is crouching on the chair, one seems collective and calm and has a thick mustache, one has on a black cloak, and one has a beard and muscular...but....the woman at the end of the table...alarms are going off in my head everywhere at her, her skin is just white...with...what are those, veins surrounding her skin? Her eyes are black with red pupils...she looks more Grimm than human...IS she human? They're all staring at me, except for the man in the cloak...the one with a ponytail smiles crazily at me...

Raiden(Speaking/Angered):"Where am I!?" I yell angrily my eye bursts into flames as I conjure in my Kitsune and hold it defensively. They sit there, not even speaking to me as the man in the cloak gets up and begins walking towards me. "You stop right there!" He gets closer as dark purple flames begin to flicker out of his hood...I can't even see his face. the room gets cold as my heart pounds as he towers over me I swing my Kitsune at him but he brings his hand up and stops it easily

Man in the Cloak:"...It isn't him, though I sense the one we do want in him, we can also use him for our plan." I try to hit him in the face with my fist but he easily stops it with the other. What is he even talking about... "Would that be alright, Salem?" He looks back at the woman who is completely white and covered in veins...she motions for him to bring me. He then grabs me by the throat as I drop my Kitsune as I struggle and try to break free from his grip. Why is this guy so damn strong...he walks over to the woman now known as Salem and slams my head on the table before setting me up straight. His fingers fill up with purple flames as he grabs my hands and place them behind my back before he makes a fire chain and cuffs my hands with them. I can barely breathe even though I'm panting out of fear as I stare at Salem.

Salem:"What is your name, child?" I try to speak but...my throat...

Raiden:"C-can't...speak..." I manage to say as Salem's hand glows a red color as her eyes glow red as well. My throat begins to feel warm...what is she doing?

Salem:"You will be able to speak now, now then...answer my previous question, what is your name."

Raiden:"...Raiden (Last name)" W-wait I didn't even want to say that, I-I'm speaking without wanting to speak? Maybe it's because of these fire chains...

Salem:"Who is your father, Raiden."

Raiden:"A-Ardyn (Last name)" Damn it! Why am I talking!? Salem glances at the Man in the Cloak behind me before focusing back on me.

Salem:"What is your brother's name?" I try to hold back but as soon as I do that I feel immense pain in my throat.

Raiden(Hesitating):"(First name) (Last name)" Salem definitely noticed my hesitation before she brings her hand up and placing her finger on my forehead. Her eyes flare red as pain screams out of my ears as I yell in pain as my head falls on the table. Images flood my head of a horrifying snake-like creature with massive fangs as it screeches...

Salem:"What you're hearing right now is the call for Serpent...The images you are seeing is Serpent herself."

Raiden(Extreme Pain):"P-Please...Make it stop!" Salem lifts up my head by the chin while looking at me

Salem:"I can not. I've only awakened what every person in your bloodline has had inside of them since the Fallen King came to me." She snaps her fingers as a shattered mirror appears beside her as it shows me...with a burning purple flame. "You belong to me now..." The pain lessens...as the man in the cloak lets go of me and I slowly kneel against my will...I can't stop...

Raiden:"I-I...serve you..." The pain and screeches go away...as I feel something dark enter my soul...

Salem:"Now then...tell me about your brother."

Two Years Later (Raiden's POV)

I can't really remember what these past two years have been like...something's foggy with my memory, I feel like it has to do with Cinder I remember going through a portal of fire opening afterwards but nothing else...odd, either way now I'm in front of an airship that's going to take off, apparently Neo is being sent on a mission by Cinder...now whenever I look at Cinder I get chills...Neo is glances up at me as she twirls her umbrella in her hand

Raiden(Sign):"So, did they even tell you what you're going to be doing?" She shakes her head while shrugging "Well just stay safe out there alright?" She rolls her eyes before kissing me on the cheek.

Neo(Sign):"Says the one who disappears every other week."

Raiden(Sign):"Like I said before, I don't know how that happens." She rolls her eyes again "I'm telling the truth woman." She smiles before hopping on the airship. The pilot isn't on just yet so we're just waiting here.

Raiden(Speaking):"...Do you think that we made the wrong decision?" Neo looks at me confused, she knows that when I speak it's something serious...like when I told her that I...nevermind, she knows by now.

Neo(Sign):"What do you mean?"

Raiden(Sign):"I mean, look at this place." I gesture to the huge amounts of White Fang members and Torchwick members. "We're just expendable, we don't matter to them...and once they're done, they'll just cast us off."

Neo(Sign):"Remember the night we met Cinder? You were ranting about this same thing and look at what happened to you...you went missing for a whole month"

Raiden(Sign):"Yeah, after the fact you knocked me out. And I don't remember what happened that month..."

Neo(Sign):"Roman was going to kill you, regardless, good thing that I was a good person and gave (F) food and water, or he would've died. Of course he won't remember because he was young and I did it secretly. But now I'm going to be gone for I don't know how long, you have to be careful of what you say around here..."

Raiden(Sign):"Fine, but we need to leave regardless."

Neo(Sign):"Like I said, I have my own reasons of being with Torchwick..."

Raiden(Sign):"Though you've never told me..."

Neo(Sign):"That's because that's my story alone..." The pilot who is a White Fang member arrives and goes into the pilot's seat. "Well looks like I'm leaving now, take care alright?" She gives me a kiss on the cheek before getting on the airship

Raiden(Sign):"And to you as well..." She waves as the airship leaves, I wave back...Roman appears behind me

Raiden(Speaking):"I'm leaving."

Roman:"Yeah right."

Raiden(Speaking):"I'm starting in Beacon next week, I can't do missions while being undercover for Cinder until she arrives."

Roman:"And how will SHE feel about that?" Talking about Neo now huh?

Raiden(Speaking):"I already broke up with her last week, there's nothing holding me back here."

Roman:"That kiss begs to differ." I glare back at him "Hey, you can lie to yourself but at the end of the day you belong to me." Your head hurts as he said that last part

Raiden(Speaking):"I don't belong to anyone, I'm not afraid of you and your goons anymore. I'm no longer just one of the pawns, now if you do anything to me or (F), Cinder will find out."

Roman:"Whatever, she doesn't scare me."

Raiden(Speaking):"The failed heist with the girl in the red hood and Glynda beg to differ."

Roman:"Don't forget that YOU attacked us, and now that I brought that up...why?" He says sternly

Raiden(Speaking):"I knew you were up there, I saw that if I could make it seem that I helped stop your failed heist then I'd get in. And it worked. At least something good came out of the failure." Roman aims his cane at you

Roman:"Listen here you little-"

Cinder:"Listen to what, Roman?" Cinder walks towards us, Roman frowns as he lowers his cane slowly

Roman:"Nothing..."

Cinder:"Need I remind you that it was because of you being reckless let that girl make a fool out of you and led Glynda right towards us, if I had not been there our plan would've been ruined luckily Raiden managed to make a good plan out of your failure. Even if it would've been considered mutiny." I nod at Cinder as Roman looks vivid as he gets out a cigar and lights it. "Now then, Raiden keep in contact with us when in Beacon, we need detailed security shifts to plan the attack on the communications tower. I'll debrief you on everything else you'll need to do on your way to Beacon" ...I guess I can escape from Torchwick...escaping from Cinder's going to be a whole other level of torment...I nod as I turn to leave...getting ready for the new chapter in my life

Present Day (Your POV)

You can definitely feel that your arm is very...limited, when ever you try to open your palm it trembles and opens slightly before closing again...Thank goodness that you used your non-dominant hand for that final hit with Raiden, you wonder if your mysterious fire healing will fix this...you doubt it though. You run into the coliseum and see dozens of soldiers surrounding Yang...how could this have happened, you arrived just in time to see Mercury being pulled away on a stretcher with Emerald by his side...yep his leg is definitely broken, ouch. Yang looks devastated as she looks around as endless boos pour around the stadium, what was she thinking? 

Yang:"You don't understand! He attacked me, I swear!" What does she mean by that?

Atlas Officer:"Stow it! You've already caused enough of a scene!" They raise their weapons in response...you and Raiden are both angered and confused, but neither of you can do anything...you notice General Ironwood with two atlesian knights behind him approaching you both...you sigh, this is going to be one bad day...

Later back in RWBY's Dorm

You're back in your room with all of Team RWBY...General Ironwood has been giving you all a long lecture...

Ironwood:"I'm sorry, but you've left us with no choice."

Yang:"But he attacked me!" ...You feel something off about that footage

Ironwood:"Video footage and millions of viewers say otherwise."

Weiss:"But Yang would never do that!"

Ruby:"Yeah!" She says as she gets up. Ironwood turns around as you see Yang sigh and place her head in her hands...this has been a bad few days for all of you...

Ironwood:"You all seem like good students, and the staff here at Beacon are fully aware that you would never lash out the way you did... under normal circumstances." You look at Ruby as she sits back down."What I believe and hope this to be is nothing more than the result of stress and adrenaline. When you're out on the battlefield, your judgment can become clouded in an instant. Sometimes you see things that simply aren't there. Even after the fight is past..." Maybe if she was suffering from Post-Traumatic-Stress-Disorder but not here...this was something different and your Soul will not leave it alone.

Yang:"But I wasn't-"

Ironwood(angrily stern):"That's ENOUGH!" He yells as the room gets quiet...you expected him to snap...seeing how now Beacon is being pro"The sad truth is, whether it was an accident or an assault, it doesn't matter. The world saw you attack an innocent student. And the world saw two brothers trying to kill each other." He looks at both you and Raiden as you lower your head. "They've already drawn their own conclusions. And it's my job to inform you that...you are disqualified." Yang is shocked...before that shock turns into misery as she looks to the ground as Raiden places his hand on her shoulder, and Ironwood leaves the room...the door closes and Yang looks up.

Yang:"You guys believe me, right?"

Ruby:"Duh!"

Weiss:"You're hotheaded, but not ruthless." She says while shaking her head.

Raiden:"Of course honey." You haven't spoken...not that you don't believe her but...something's not right. This feels very familiar...well what she's saying at lease, about her seeing something that she know she wasn't hallucinating...just like with you seeing the Man in the Cloak.

Yang:"Blake?" She looks at her as Blake turns her gaze away, you exchange looks with Ruby, Weiss and Raiden.

Blake:"I want to believe you..."

Ruby:"Huh!?"

Weiss:"What's that supposed to mean?"

Yang:"Blake?" she says in a hurt voice as her eyes widen and tears form...that look breaks your heart.

Weiss:"How can you say something like that? Yang would never lie to us!" Blake takes a deep breath before starting.

Blake:"I had someone very dear to me change. It wasn't in an instant, it was gradual - little choices that began to pile up. He told me not to worry. At first they were accidents, then it was self-defense. Before long, even I began to think he was right."she pauses as you realize that she's talking about Adam..."This is all just... very familiar." Yang looks up, tears now falling down her face "But you're not him. And you've never done anything like this before. So... I want to trust you. I will trust you. But first, I need you to look me in the eyes and tell me that he attacked you. I need you to promise me that you regret having to do what you did." Yang wipes her eyes

Yang:"I saw him attack me, so I attacked back." lets out a deep breath as she closes her eyes and smiles

Blake:"Okay. Thank you." Everyone slowly looks at you now...

Yang:"And...you (F)?" You almost didn't register her as you were so lost in thought...your eye had burst into flames without you realizing it.

You:"H-huh? S-sorry...this feels...very familiar...I don't know" All of team RWBY glance at each other.

Blake:"Familiar how?" You stay silent for a bit before speaking

You:"During that match with Raiden...I saw the man in the cloak...well not saw I fought against him...during that final hit I knew something was off...but it was too late...and now look at us." You look at your shaking right arm. "But I never told you guys, mostly because I thought it was just me going insane but...now with this happening with Yang...it just feels...very...familiar." You breathe out before looking at Yang in her eyes before smiling "I know you would never attack someone unless you had a reason to." You give her a thumbs up with your shaking right arm "We all love you too much to not trust you." Yang manages to smile...a soft one but still a smile.

Yang:"Thank you (F)...well...I think I need to rest up." You all stand up smiling

Blake: "We'll get out of your hair."

You all walk outside of the room, where Ruby is closing the door, she pauses for a second as you see Yang slump forward before shutting it completely... She joins you and the others in the middle of the hallway. Weiss sighs and shakes her head

Weiss:"This is a mess..." You hear the sound of a door opening and you see  Team JNPR peering around the edge of the door concerned.

Jaune:"She doing okay?"

Blake:"She's doing the best she can." Ruby holds her hands up

Ruby:"I heard Mercury and his team rushed back to Haven to be with his family. So, until they land, no one can really question him about what happened."

Ren:"If there's anything we can do, please don't hesitate to ask." Ruby looks down

Ruby:"All right then. If that's the case..."she turns her gaze up again "Pyrrha?" Pyrrha looks over to Ruby as she is sitting on a bed.

Pyrrha:"Hm?" Ruby clenches her hands and holds them up as she puts on a grin...or at least tries to...you're going to have to talk with Ruby afterwards...

Ruby:"You be sure to win one for Beacon, okay?" You all smile sadly afterwards

Weiss:"It's what Yang would want." Pyrrha turns her head away...is something up with her? She looks back attempting to look confident...you've never seen Pyrrha like this...what's up with her?

Pyrrha:"I'll... do my best."

Ruby(excitedly):"I'll be sure to watch tonight in case you're picked!" Pyrrha looks away as the door to Team JNPR's room closes...what is happening these days...

Blake:"Sorry but, I think I've had enough fighting for one year."Weiss nods

Weiss:"Ditto." Pauses "Coffee?"

Blake:"Tea." They both walk away as you, Ruby and Raiden are all left there...

Ruby:"So...what now?"

Raiden:"I'm gonna go to the courtyard for a bit and then talk with Yang for a bit...if she's willing." He walks away as Ruby looks up at you.

You:"Well...want to go to the roof of Beacon?" Ruby smiles while giving you a 'really' look

Ruby:"Is that your best spot for a date?"

You:"You know I don't have money..."

Ruby:"I know, I know, I like teasing you." You take Ruby's hand as you walk away from the hallway.

Later on the rooftop

You're laying down watching the beautiful view with your head on Ruby's lap. She's busy trying to braid your hair as you keep looking at your shaking right arm. Ruby looks up from her braiding and looks at your arm.

Ruby:"I'm guessing that's shaking because of the nerve damage?" You nod as she sighs and places one hand on your cheek. "Please be more careful...I want you to be able to actually hug me, so help me if you lose an arm I will kill you." You smile smugly.

You:"And if I lose a leg?"

Ruby:"Then I'll kill you because I want to use your legs as my pillow when we're sitting down."

You:"Hmm...what if I lose my mouth."

Ruby:"I'll kill you because I enjoy kissing you."

You:"My eyes?"

Ruby:"I'll kill you because I love staring into your eyes..."

You:"Hmm...my memory?" 

Ruby:"I'll kill you because I want you to cherish the moments we've made...not just as us as a couple but as a team." You laugh

You:"But why kill me?"

Ruby:"Because I wanna." She sticks her tongue out at you.

You:"Pssh, you know you won't kill me."

Ruby:"But I will get really angry if you do lose something..."

You:"Whatever." You sit up as you watch the view you have, you can see the city from where you are, along with the Amity Coliseum floating in the air. "What a mess..."

Ruby:"I'm worried about Yang."

You:"Me too...this had to have hurt her..."

Ruby:"But I'm also worried about you."

You:"Me?"

Ruby:"Yeah, do you know how scared I was about losing you when your heart stopped...I actually watched you die. Do you know how scary that was?" You look at Ruby as she's looking down

You:"I..."

Ruby:"I love you (F),  and because I do...you can't die, alright?"

You:"Heh, that's a quite a promise I'd have to make."

Ruby:"I'm not joking around..." You see that she's moved right in front of you staring right into your eyes "You're only allowed to die until after we marry and become old." You blush a little

You:"M-marriage?"

Ruby:"Y-yeah, kind of a big leap in our relationship considering that we're teenagers...but still I know for a fact that you're the one for me..."

You:"And you are the one for me..." You lean in and kiss her as she kisses back. "Alright, I guess that's a promise. We're not allowed to die until we get married and we become old together."

Ruby:"No,no,no,no,no,no. I'M allowed to die, YOU aren't."

You:"What!? Nuh-uh, why are you allowed to die!?"

Ruby:"BECAUSE I'M SELFISH!"

You:"WELL IF YOU ARE ALLOWED TO DIE THEN SO AM I!"

Ruby:"NUH-UH SWEETIE YOU AREN'T ALLOWED!"

You:"THEN NEITHER ARE YOU!"

Ruby:"FINE!"

You:"GLAD WE GOT THAT ESTABLISHED!"

Ruby:"I LOVE YOU!"

You:"I LOVE YOU TOO!" You both stop and smile at each other "So...neither of us can die."

Ruby:"Yep!" She kisses you on the lips unexpectedly as she gets up. "Welp I'm going to Coliseum soon enough, you gonna come?" You think about it

You:"Hmm...nah...I've had my fill of fighting." You bring up your shaking arm, Ruby sighs

Ruby:"Well, alright. Love ya!" She runs off...you love that girl...though now you have to...not die, not like you were PLANNING to die in the first place but still. As she goes back into the building you wait to admire the view a bit longer before heading back inside. You want to talk to Yang for a bit so you decide to head back to your dorm.

As you were heading back to your room you spot Qrow and immediately run up to him.

You:"Qrow!"Qrow turns back to look at you

Qrow:"Hey there pipsqueak." You get annoyed by that name. "Didn't expect you to be back up on your feet so soon."

You:"Yeah...Leviathan powers I guess, but that's besides the point."

Qrow:"So...what happened out there with your brother?"

You:"Well...I don't know...all I know is that Raiden was getting hostile even though I was losing badly, I was going to be killed by him until something weird happened and I was o longer fighting him but fighting the Man in the Cloak. I fought him, I felt something wasn't right, next thing I know I'm crushed against the wall, my heart stops, I wake up to find out that I have severe nerve damage in my arm, my brother now has memory loss aaaaaannnnnndddd....that's it." Qrow seems to be registering all of this.

Qrow:"Sounds like one hell of a day..."

You:"I KNOW RIGHT!? Anyways are we still up for training?" Qrow looks at you strangely

Qrow:"How about we hold off with your training until you're healed."

You:"I'm perfectly fine!" You say as you still have multiple wounds, bandages and a bandage over your eye...Qrow gives you a 'really' look. "Ugh...fine I'll rest up..."

Qrow:"Good." He turns to walk away

You:"Qrow?" he turns back "What I saw on that match...I knew something was off...but I was so caught up in my rage that I realized it too late...I feel like something similar happened to Yang..."

Qrow:"What makes you say that?"

You:"...I don't know...something's just...not right...I can feel it."

 Qrow:sighs "Worry about that once you're healed...alright?" You sigh and nod. "Good, now run along." He takes out his flask and takes a swig as he walks away.

You walk back to your room as you slowly open the door... you scan the room slowly until you see Yang...and Raiden...making out...like can they even breathe ew...you...think it'd be best to talk later as they're uh...busy.
