Alex Guilbert is overcoming a tragic past of bullying and being misunderstood. He self-medicates with cannabis, music, old cars and midnight walks in the city. His life just doesn't seem to the going well for him; his father's abuse, he's prone to relapse and has body image issues, even though he may not seem like he's physically suffering with body distortion.

After meeting an equally lonely blond named Ran one fateful night when his car breaks down, the two boys quickly befriend each other over common interests.
