Present Day

"So she cheated on you?" asked Matthew.

"Yeah, apparently it had been going on for a week." answered Matt. "I should've seen it coming."

"Matt, you couldn't have seen this coming. No one could've. You'd been amazing to her, literally perfect. I'm so sorry, you didn't deserve that at all." said Sally, holding Matt's hand. "Any decent girl would have just fallen even more in love with you."

Matt sighed.

"Dude, come on. The polite and confident boy I met back in eighth grade would agree. You deserve someone better, much better." said Sally.

"I should've just left it at friends, I rushed the whole relationship." said Matt. "She obviously wasn't interested."

"I don't agree with you to be honest. She obviously wanted it, she just changed her mind for some dumb reason."

Matt ran his fingers through his long hair.

"Mike. She ran off with Mike." he said.

"What does she see in him though?" asked Matthew.

"Cross country, athletic, good looking." said Matt, shaking his head.

"Matt, you're better looking than him. You're in a band, you're an Eagle Scout, you were in track," said Sally. "Mike is nothing to you."

Matt looked at Sally, giving her hand a squeeze.

"Thank you, you don't know how much this helps." said Matt, standing up.

He walked into the other room, telling them to stay. Matthew and Sally sat in silence, then Matt came back with his acoustic guitar.

"I think, uh, My Best Friend is a good song for this." said Matt. "I love you guys, really."

The group hugged, sitting for several seconds before letting go.

"One, two, one two three four."

One Week Later

"Alright everybody, this is our last song, thank you so much for coming out to see us!" said Matt, talking to the 3,000+ people at the music festival.

After four months of being on hiatus, The Problematics were back in action. The setlist for that day was:

The Band was pumped to be back, and so were their fans. Matt, now having shaved, gotten a haircut (disconnected undercut, just the way he likes it), and gotten some sleep, was back to his energetic self. He did some of his highest jumps, ran the whole length of the stage multiple times, and did every rock star scream and shout he knew. The entire band gave it their all. Thanks to Matthew and Sally, who were in the front row of the crowd, Matt had gotten his life back together. In turn, the band came back together. The family came back together. Matt was where he belonged, not in some dark house, or a loud and drug filled nightclub. Matt was finally free from Cassie's hold. The band finished rocking out to Give Up, coming to their last song.

"Alright everybody, this is our last song." said Matt. "I know I know, it's sad. But I promise we will be back soon. The Problematics are back and we're back with a vengeance."

The audience erupted into cheering, but was slowly hushed by Cooper.

"Start us off Alexa." said Cooper, the synth pad playing the first part of 505.

' Matt sang into the mic, thinking about how great it felt to be back.

"Stop and wait a sec
