Realization

The bright blue sky contrasted well against the gloomy countries. It almost seemed taunting while the two Koreans went to the world building. To think this may be the last time they'll see each other. That there may not be anything beyond this point for the two of them.

These are the thoughts that haunt South Korea. He holds his brother tightly, his arms hugging his smaller brother. His brother... North Korea has his little round hands clenching onto the fabric of his suit, almost as if he knew what was going to happen.

It pained the older ones heart to know that he must part from his little brother. He should have known that this was too good to last. The very little time he had spent with his brother were one of the best experiences he had with him for so long.

His brother, having been nothing but cold and unwelcoming since they first parted as children. Their bond broken as South Korea tried to pick up the pieces and rebuilt what they had before the separation. Even during times of peace his brother always secluded him, tried to keep not only him but others away.

He wondered what happened to his dear brother. What led for him to act so cold. He knew it wasn't exactly Soviets doing but what else could have happened? With that he couldn't help but feel his stomach turn as his steps echoed in the hallway.

After the accident, his brother... No, they both, were able to have a brand new opportunity to mend some of their relationship again. To be able feel that connection with his twin brother once more, even in such situation. Maybe he was selfish in preferring it this way.

The Korean country stopped as he looked down intently on the one in his arms. Northie stared at him with those round innocent eyes. His hands still clasped in his clothing, face pressed to his chest, breathing evenly, with a ghost of a worried expression.

Maybe this was his punishment. He was the one that bothered his brother when he clearly did not want him near. He always did the opposite of what he wished. He caused the accident for it. He tried to take responsibility for by taking care of him but was it really for responsibility? It probably wasn't, he was too eager to rebuild this connection with his younger brother. He... He's taken advantage of this situation he created to be with him. He went through his things without his permission, all because his infant version gave him permission. Everyone knows that a child, much less a baby, cannot consent to anything and he took advantage of this.

The moment of epiphany hit him like a train. He was selfish... He took advantage of his brother... All in the name of taking responsibility. He placed him in the hands of the ones he hated. Yes, South Korea had no other options but to ask for America's help but it doesn't change the fact that North Korea and him hated each other's guts.

He felt a small warm hand on his face. South Korea looked down to see an even more worried North Korea. "Aahmm..." the smaller one murmured. As the older one took his hand, the other still securing Northie, and gently placed it on top of the small chubby hand. He realized that a few traitorous tears escaped him and now he made the younger Korean worried.

"Don't worry about me" South Korea whispered, as he tried to compose himself again, "it's going to be fine North." He placed the others hand down as he wiped his tears off. He can't let himself cry in front of his brother. He needs to be strong, and not add more things to worry the smaller Korean.

He stood in front of two doors with murmurs being heard on the other side. South Korea stood up straight. Making sure that no evidence of his little crying were seen, he changed his grip on North Korea, securing him more better. He glanced down at the little blue, red and white being in his arm before taking a deep breath and walking to the room.
