WORDS HAVE POWER.

Whether they be a part of a powerful incantation or a story forever told, words come together like the misshapen pieces of a puzzle to form intricate and beautiful designs. Designs that could topple empires, raise armies, or even make people fall in love. Because that is the power words have. After all, the pen is much mightier than the sword.

This was something Eshana Chakrabarti fully believed in. Ever since she was a little girl, Eshana had been taught that peace was better than violence from both her Mother and her Father. They wanted to know that even though their power came from the Dark Lord - the devil himself - that it didn't mean she had to be evil in return, because power can be used for both good or evil no matter where it comes from.

Ambrose Spellman was once a man who would choose a wand and magic over the art of diplomacy. He paid dearly for it. Sentenced to years under house arrest, Ambrose's home became his prison. That was the price he paid. And he couldn't fight it.

But when Eshana Chakrabarti and her father return to Greendale, things start to change. 

The main one being that the young woman soon discovered an old diary in the corner of her home. A diary, that once written in, transported the words somewhere else. And someone answered.

Eshana did not know who the mysterious 'A' was, just like how Ambrose did not know who wrote to him with the letter 'E'. Neither were aware that their penpal was just over a mile away, hidden in their own rooms, scribbling down their thoughts to each other. Whilst, in real life, Eshana was starting to get to know the man locked inside the Spellman home. Unaware it was really each other they were writing to, Eshana and Ambrose's friendship bloomed. 

But with everything happening in Greendale, it wouldn't be long before dark magic brought them together.

- Eshana and her father (Mahit) moved to Greendale after her step-mother (Kamala) and half-brother (Fariq) were murdered by a witch hunter. Eshana lost her mother (Nadira) to illness.

- The witch hunter - Logan Hendrix - was possessed by the demon Ronove and believed killing witches would cure him. He appears in season 2 and the demon is cast from him. He realises what he's done and pledges allegiance to the Church of Night in Penance. 

- Eshana's familiar is a rabbit named Enola

- Now onto the Dear Diary spell. Basically, two books are connected with magic. If you write in one, the text appears in the other. You can't tell people your name, the magic prevents it. So, Eshana finds it in her new home when she moves back and the other book is in the Spellman home and Ambrose finds it when she activates it by beginning to write in it as a diary. The magic activates with the key phrase 'Dear Diary'. 

- She becomes the young new art teacher at Greendale High which helps her stay in the loop with Sabrina.

- She is VERY protective of Sabrina. Like, Eshana arrives before Sabrina's ceremony in ep1 and completely supports her not writing her name if she doesn't want to.

- Ambrose is cannonly pansexual and Eshana is bisexual with a woman preference. They fall in love over the diaries before they realise who the other is in real life. It's weird how they see each other all the time and don't realise the other is the person they're writing to.

- Ambrose and Eshana become friends in the real world and the closer they get, the closer they get to realising the other has the other diary. Although, they're both oblivious idiots

- Mahit Chakrabarti is good friends with Father Blackwood and the Church of Night (although Mahit has more feminist ideas) so, the family is welcomed back to Greendale with welcome arms and become quickly situated in the local Church of Night

- Maybe Eshana also has a thing with Prudence, you can decide. 

- Eshana is an artist when she's not a witch and she loves to write. If she wasn't an art teacher, she wouldn't know what to do. Her father is a healer. So, he can usually get jobs either within the witch community or amongst the mortals.

- Eshana is a good soul. She does like the occasional chaos but she just wants to do good even before she signed away her name.

- They figure out each other rather simply. Basically, one of them would say a phrase when they're meeting in real life that they often write in the book. The other will recognise it. Reveal by the end of season one?

- Whenever you do the reveal, they get together basically immediately after.
