Down the hallway both Sonic and the nurse went down towards the visiting room, where all the others were. Though the nurse herself was one of the most nicest person here that actually helped him, and yet he was always surprised by that. Her name was Helen a young lady around her 20s, she had brown hair, green eyes, and a slim body. She was very nice lady that never did anything to him, she never hurt or abused him, she never did anything to humiliate him, or anything except treat him with utter kindness. He always wondered why she had ever wanted to work at an asylum, instead if working at a real hospital he was sure that she wouldn't have any trouble with that.

Yet here she was with the sapphire hedgehog taking him to the whomever wanted to come here and see him. He could remember how it all happened, how he got here and how he was trapped, having the feeling of never leaving the asylum. It was a never ending nightmare for him and no one could understand how he felt and what he went through during he's time in this bloody (retched place ) hell. Though he was actually surprised that anyone had decided to visit the azure hedgehog, since they stopped coming by after the "little episode" he had in front of them. He was telling them the truth yet those doctors and nurses, except Helen, were making his friends believe that he was lying and he just snapped.

The sound of heels tapping lightly on the floor along with the squeaky wheels of the wheelchair reverberated throughout the corridor, but along the way emerald eyes had noticed something that was all to familiar to him. As the nurse wheeled him down closer to their destination, Sonic could only make out blurred colors of various objects and people. Behind the fogged clouded glass were two colors he had come to know as crimson and ebony. 'No it can't be...' was all he thought as emerald eyes almost seem to widen as he was then wheeled around from the blurred glass and into the room where he saw him, the one he'd least expected or last person he would see here 'Shadow...' he thought breathlessly. He couldn't even fathom what he was seeing in front of him, he's rival here...in the room...to visit him.

Ruby eyes then looked up and saw the nurse bringing Sonic in his direction, at first the ebony hedgehog started to become curious over time as to why his rival was never seen around nor even came around to even ask him for races. At first he didn't believe the others, so he'd figured to go see for himself to see what Sonic's friends said was true. The gears in his head had started turning as his mind was working through different thoughts and ideas of how and why the blue speedster was in there. Did he really have some hidden issues that finally came forth, Maybe he did suffer with some mental issues, or if so, they shouldn't he had talked to a psychologist instead of just dropping him at a mental institute. He wondered what exactly did happened to his blue rival or if he should call him that anymore, but none of the less he needed to know of what was going on.

Shadow's Pov

GUN had gave me an assignment to investigate the Oak Wood Asylum, where they're known to treat the most psychotic people and restore their normal state of mind, but apparently they had gotten word about patients disappearing or suspicious acts was happening there (were taking place here) , but it had something to with mental manipulation something dealing with the mind. Though I have noticed that a certain hedgehog wasn't around before hand, which was very odd usually he would out and about whenever he had got a chance, but now it was like he vanished altogether. I was trying not to be bothered with it, but yet in truth I couldn't help but be troubled knowing that there had to be a reason as to why Sonic was put here. Before I got to the Asylum, Rouge had told me while I was there to at least visit him. My eyes widen a little at hearing what she said to me, I would think that would be the last place that Sonic would be.

A part of me was relieved, but the other wasn't none of the less I agreed, maybe that hedgehog could be of some use in my mission. So here I was at my assigned location sitting down at a table, I looked around the room trying to at least get the idea of the surroundings or at least passed the time while I waited for the nurse to bring back said hedgehog. I've often noticed that some of the patients here looked injured or broken like everything they knew was just shattered completely and whatever was left was no more. I also noticed something else about them their eyes seemed to be glazed over in with haziness, it was like they were not even aware if where they were exactly. I shook the idea away still trying to speed up time and talk to the blue hedgehog, though to be honest I don't know as to why I even decided to visit him.

I mean I have developed some feelings towards him, or maybe I have grown attached to him. During all this time with not having him around I have actually missed the cocky hedgehog maybe I do have some feelings towards him, but that doesn't matter I can't let my emotions or feelings come between me and my assignment, or can? Though after what Rouge had inform me about Sonic, It was really hard to believe that he would pull a stunt like this, to actually believe that the blue hedgehog was insane. It sounded more like they didn't want to be any where near him, or had anything to do with him for the time being. I contemplated on the though and scoffed mentally 'Yeah some real friends they were' I said in thought as I continued to wait for the nurse and Sonic.

I have to admit even though I'm not one for confessing something especially with my emotions, I felt bad for him after hearing what little detail that Rouge told me. What I did find it strange was the thought process behind it, that he would end up being put straight into the asylum, since it would make sense to being him to a psychiatrist to at least see what was wrong with him than to drop him off in an asylum.

It was really hard to believe that he would pull a stunt like this, to actually believe that the blue hedgehog was insane. As soon as my eyes spotted the nurse I had spoken to, this proved me wrong as my eyes widened a little, I just couldn't believe what I saw and wished that this was actually a joke. What the hell actually happened that made him but put here!?

In the wheel chair was Sonic himself or what used to be him, I watched as the nurse rolled him closer towards the table I was sitting at though I just couldn't stop staring at the blue hedgehog. It looked like every part of him was sucked out and left a hallow shell of the former Sonic I once knew. As the nurse put he at the table, I had gotten a real good look at him his eyes dulled, the sapphire fur now a dingy color, he had a real pale complexion in his appearance. "well here he is, if there is anything else you'd like please don't hesitate to ask" She said to me, even though I wasn't really paying any attention to her. I inwardly shook my head and gave her a simply nod, she then looked over at the Sonic and questioned him. "Now Sonic, are you going to behave yourself this time?" In response, he nodded his head eyes unfocused looking out into space.

"well here he is, if there is anything else you'd like please don't hesitate to ask" She said to me, even though I wasn't really paying any attention to her. I inwardly shook my head and gave her a simply nod, she then looked over at the Sonic and questioned him. "Now Sonic, are you going to behave yourself this time, I'll undo the straps on your straight jacket if you promise to behave yourself?" She questioned him, to which his response was only a simple nod and a child like sound. This had caught me as odd, but none of the less I watched as the nurse began untying the straps that held his arms in place preventing him for moving his arms. Once she was finished, I stopped her before she left "Um ma'am, is it alright if I ask you a few questions Ms.?" I asked. She smiled at him and nodded "of course, oh and my name is Helen" She said to him.

As the two talked between each other, Sonic just stayed quiet and listened to their conversation. On the inside he still couldn't believe that Shadow was here, but he had some doubts as to what the ebony hedgehog's purpose for being present in the first place. The blue hedgehog was rather happy on the internally given that Helen, had taken a loose his straps so his arms weren't restrained anymore. He couldn't wait for the brown haired lady to leave though if he and the ebony hedgehog were left by themselves, Shadow wouldn't be able to understand him if he tried to talk seeing that the drug was still in effect. The only solution he could think of was to at least have the nurse get him a pencil and paper, so that he could at least use that as a way of communicating.

He then noticed the brown haired lady walk off,  which caused Sonic to frown wishing that she had stayed longer. Quite frankly he was very nervous in being only with the other hedgehog who only sat and watched him for a moment, before speaking to him. "So..." The ebony hedgehog started trying to find the right words to say and ask. "You were given some medication, am I right?" he asked the blue hedgehog. In return he answered in a simple nod relaxing a little in the wheel chair, but only a little given the fact that he was still nervous in being alone with the ebony hedgehog in his current state.

Shadow's ruby eyes kept watch over him looking slightly up and down the Sonic's figure trying to figure out some thoughts that were running through his mind, but he had to be careful on what he will say to the other. He didn't want to strike the wrong nerve and cause him to have another episode like before, that's what the white bat had told him any ways. Though a thought had popped up in his head, wanting to know more on the medication Sonic had taken or has been taking "And when you take it, he lose some of your basic motor skills?" he questioned out curiosity. Just like before Sonic gave him simple nod as his answer towards the question, but he raised an eye ridge at the other.  "I was just curious is all" he said to him and then went back to his own thoughts.

From both of their silence, the air around them quickly became awkward seeing as one was in a struggle with what and how he spoke and the other not able to communicate back, but he if did try all that would come from the feeble hedgehog would be undistinguished noises and  incoherent gibberish mouth. Before things became more uncomfortable, Helen came back with a pencil and three sheets of paper placing them right in front of the blue hedgehog. "Here you go Sonic...sorry I forgot to give these to him, he really likes to scribble on them" She said to the ebony hedgehog. In mind, they were relieved that the nurse came back and Sonic soon took the opportunity to start just that scribble.  Helen smiled more and watched him for a few moments before bringing her attention back to Shadow then spoke "he's usually just scribble stuff and shows me, but since you're he'll probably show you instead".

Shadow looked over her giving the young lady a nod telling her that he understood "thank you Ms. Helen" he said and brought his attention back to the sapphire hedgehog. With that she left leaving the two alone once more, taking care of some of the other patients and going about her usual duties. The ebony hedgehog  then placed an elbow onto the table and then rested his chin in his hand as he then began to stare into space, going back into his own thoughts thinking carefully on what he should say. Though he then noticed the sapphire hedgehog was shaking a little eyeing the delicate pale peach hand, which was covered by the sleeve of the straight jacket. He saw how was struggling to write something, as the other sleeved cover hand held the paper down and caused him to raise an eye ridge at him curiously.

Soon after Sonic ceased with his insatiable scribbling placing his pencil down and looked over at Shadow nervously. He was worried of what the other will say or think about him whether he will believe him or not, but he had to try  he needed to get out and stay far away from the asylum as possible. Yes he was desperate, on the inside the sapphire hedgehog knew that nor did he care he wanted help and that was all that mattered to him. "Do you want to show me what you...um drew?" Shadow asked him, which surprised him. He slowly nodded his head, then carefully handing the paper over towards the ebony hedgehog to let him look at what he did.

Once Shadow had taken the piece of paper from him, his ruby eyes then gazed over at it, but when he did he felt his heart drop at seeing what the sapphire hedgehog had wrote. It was like his whole body froze still entranced by what was on the paper, to anyone this would be pretty creepy and yet at the same time gave an uneasy feeling in the pit of your stomach. There In big scribbled words it read "HELP ME!"

He looked up from the paper with slightly widened eyes as he looked at the blue hedgehog, who was looking back at him with desperate pleading ones. What happened next both shocked and surprised the ebony hedgehog, he watched as the other that sat before him

Hey sorry for updating the story really late, I guess I had forgotten about it though I'm thinking about re editing this chapter. I after finishing this I felt like I rushed it, but if you guys think it's fine as it is I'll leave it be and as for chapter 2 and 3 I am rewriting those. When I'll finish I don't know it'll be done whenever, though just to not make you guys wait for a long time I'll try and post both of those chapters once I finish them. I'm really trying to do my best in making the Asylum Book and great story to read, and please don't be afraid to comment on it I don't mind at all. So until then, have fun reading ^^.
