Chapter 31

Julie and Adam fly over to where Notch is standing. When he sees the demon beside his angel, he whips out his weapon, causing Julie to flinch.

"Don't, don't! We have to talk to you," Adam says urgently. Notch stares at him and slowly lowers his sword.

"Alright, talk. I want a good explanation as to why you're standing beside our enemy."

"I know how to stop this, but I can't do it on my own," Julie explains. "I need all the angels, you, and the demons to charge Herobrine and kill him. If we can kill him, then my flock will be free and we won't have to fight anymore."

"Weren't you bred to fight? Aren't you just cold blooded killers?" Notch demands. She shakes her head.

"At first, I thought I wanted this. Now I realize that I don't want to fight anymore. If you can just help me kill him, then my siblings and I can be free," Julie begs. Notch sighs deeply and looks to his angel.

"Yes, we failed to kill him the first time, but I believe that with the help of the demons, we can end him," Adam reassures his king. Notch sighs and nods.

"We can help you, but not now. It's too early. We must plan our attack and make Herobrine think that we are weaker than we actually are. I know how powerful he is, so if we can get him when he's less tense, we'll have a better chance."

"Thank you," Adam says. Notch smiles and puts his hand on the angel's shoulder.

"You're welcome. Now go tell the others our plan and make it seem like the angels are losing."

Wolfie races down the street, looking for an angel on the ground. He can't fight the ones in the sky because he can't fly, which he sees as more of a curse than a blessing.

He spots a pair of white wings disappearing around a corner, and he chases the angel down, fangs bared. As he barrels around the corner, Wolfie skids to a stop.

Quintana stands there, wings outstretched. She's watching the sky, waiting for something. Her feathers rustle slightly in the wind as the mudkip girl freezes, her entire body sensing something. She whips out her sword, and the wolf demon growls before pouncing at her. Wolfie bats her sword from her hands and pins her on the ground. She starts glowing brighter and brighter, until it physically hurts for Wolfie to touch her. He backs off, and she kicks him in the face. She retrieves her sword from where it landed on the pavement and attacks the wolf again. He transforms into a human and whips out his own sword. The sound of clashing metals echoes through the streets as they continue their dance, dodging and stabbing at each other.

As Quintana is about to stab Wolfie, she gets her sword kicked out of her hand. Wolfie's sword skids across the ground as well, landing near the mudkip's.

"What the—" Quintana begins. She looks up and sees Adam standing there with Julie at his side.

"What are you doing, Julie? These angels are the enemy!" Wolfie exclaims, motioning to Quintana and Adam.

"No, they aren't," Julie shoots back.

"Everyone, meet in the town square in ten minutes. We have a plan," Adam says.

"We? Angels AND demons?" Wolfie demands. Julie shoots him a glance, and he lapses into silence.

"Well, it's settled then. Town square, ten minutes. No killing each other," the male angel says.

Adam and Julie fly off, and Quintana gives Wolfie one last glare before taking off into the sky.

"Damn it," the wolf growls.
