Chapter thirty-three
When Kelvin and Mabel reached her North Ridge home, she opened the door and led him inside, his hands still resting on her waist.
As soon as the door closed behind them, Kelvin spun her around to face him.
His lips crashed onto hers.
All those long months apart-longing, waiting, hoping-were being made up for in ways only their lips could demand.
The kiss was wild and unrestrained as their lips clashed and their tongues tangled together.
Mabel was surprised by the sudden intensity, but she quickly relaxed into his demanding kisses and touch. Raw passion blossomed inside her.
How she wished the day wouldn't end.
How she wished they could stay like this forever and experience kisses like this every day.
Together, they stumbled backwards against the wall, still kissing fiercely. Kelvin's hands roamed her sides before pulling her thigh up to rest against his hip. His cock hard against her belly.
When his lips left hers and found the sensitive spot on her neck, she gasped, her back arching against the wall. A moan escaped her lips.
Before she could say anything, his mouth captured hers once more. Mabel could feel how desperately he wanted her.
And she understood that need instantly.
She was aware of her own needs as well.
Instead of pushing him away, she ran her hands across his chest, carefully undoing the buttons of his shirt before sliding it from his shoulders.
It fell to the floor.
Kelvin immediately lifted her off the ground.
With her legs wrapped around his waist, he carried her to the dining table and laid her gently on her back, standing between her thighs.
He looked down at her with unmistakable hunger as his hands caressed her thighs.
"You can stop me if you don't want this," he whispered.
Rather than answer with words, Mabel lifted herself from the table and kissed him hard. Showing him exactly how much she wanted him.
Kelvin took her response as permission to continue.
He eased her back onto the table and pulled her dress upward until it gathered around her hips. Their eyes never left each other.
The distance that had separated them for months seemed to disappear. Mabel reached for him again, unwilling to let go. Kelvin met her halfway. While placing a gentle kiss on her knuckles.
With her legs wide open to him. He slowly pulls her sexy panties down her legs while maintaining their gaze.
With her fully exposed, he undoes his trousers. Making it fall to the floor. He pulls her ass to the tip of the table and aligns himself to the tip of her entrance.
With his hands on her hips, he thrust fully in her. Resulting in her arching her back off the table, screaming in pleasure. She could feel the fullness of him as he groaned in pleasure at how well her walls gripped him tightly. He waited for her to get adjusted to him before moving inside her.
Mabel grips the edges of the table as pleasure shot through her body with every trust she received.
She has forgotten how much this act felt like.
How intimate it can be.
After the birth of his son. No man has since then touched her this way, except Kelvin. The man who is now deeply buried in her. Who is making her feel things she has long forgotten?
With his gaze still on her, and her legs wrapped around his waist, he removes her hands from the edge of the table. Lacing his fingers together with hers and pulling them above her head as he thrust in her over and over. Sending both of them to the edge.
They moved together. The pleasure building. She could feel him everywhere. Inside her, against her. His weight anchoring her to the table, his heartbeat hammering against her chest. It was overwhelming. She couldn't believe the table hadn't given out beneath them.
Kelvin let out a low grunt, changing angle, causing her to reach her own release.
With one hard thrust from him. She cried out beneath him. Coming on done with him. Both panting from their release.
The rest of the world faded into nothing.
There was only this moment.
Only them.
Months of separation. Months of wondering. Months of missing each other.
When everything finally settled, they remained together, catching their breath. Neither is eager to move. Neither eager to break the moment.
For a while, they simply stayed there.
Enjoying the comfort of each other's presence.
Eventually, Kelvin lifted her into his arms once more.
Mabel laughed softly as he carried her toward the bedroom.
"Where are you taking me?" she asked.
Kelvin smiled.
"That depends."
"On what?"
"On how many more rounds do you think you can survive?"
Mabel laughed again and wrapped her arms around his neck. For the first time in a very long while, neither of them was thinking about tomorrow.
Only tonight.

The two of them spent the entire night making up for the months they had lost.
Now, Kelvin lay asleep behind her, his body pressed against her back. One arm was wrapped securely around her waist while the other rested beneath her head.
Mabel gently traced her fingers along his forearm.
For once, he looked peaceful.
Not guarded.
Not haunted.
Just asleep.
When he shifted slightly against her, she smiled.
"Is everything alright?" she asked softly.
Kelvin stirred.
His eyes remained closed.
"What?" he murmured, his voice rough with sleep.
Mabel laughed quietly.
"You were like a beast last night."
That earned a tired smile from him.
"Not that I'm complaining," she continued, teasing. "But you spent the entire night making up for lost time."
Kelvin opened one eye.
"Months apart will do that to a man."
Mabel shook her head, amused.
"Should I be worried?"
"Nothing you should worry about," he replied.
He tightened his arm around her slightly.
"I just missed you."
His voice softened.
"Everything about you."
A pause.
"Your scent."
"Your smile."
"Your laugh."
"Your mind."
He brushed his nose lightly against her shoulder.
"And your beautiful body."
A faint smile touched his lips.
"I could keep going if you want me to."
Mabel giggled.
"You're impossible."
"I've been told that before."
The room fell quiet again.
Comfortable.
Warm.
Then Mabel spoke.
"Must you leave?"
The question lingered between them.
Kelvin's smile faded.
A long silence followed before he finally answered.
"I have to."
Mabel turned in his arms until she was facing him.
"You promised me an explanation."
Kelvin met her gaze.
"When you tracked me down at my restaurant, you said you would tell me why you disappeared."
He reached up and brushed a curl away from her forehead before placing a gentle kiss there.
"Can you give me a little more time?"
His voice was quiet.
"I promise I'll tell you everything when this is over."
Mabel wasn't happy with the answer.
But she didn't push.
She wanted the decision to come from him.
Not from pressure.
Not from guilt.
From trust.
So she nodded.
Even though questions still lingered in her mind.
Even though she still didn't fully understand what this relationship meant to him.
She wanted it to be more than longing.
More than stolen moments between absences.
She wanted something real.
Mabel watched him begin to drift back to sleep.
Slowly, she rested her head against his chest.
Outside, the city continued without them.
Cars moved through the streets. People went about their day. Life carried on.
But inside the apartment, everything felt still.
For once, Kelvin wasn't thinking about Julius.
He wasn't thinking about the Andersons.
He wasn't thinking about revenge.
He was thinking about the woman in his arms.
And how dangerously easy it would be to stay.
A part of him wanted to.
A part of him wished he could.
But for now, she would have to wait.
Revenge came first.
Mabel tilted her head and looked up at him.
Kelvin felt her gaze and opened his eyes again.
"What?" he asked.
His finger brushed lightly across her lower lip.
"Nothing."
A faint smile touched hers.
"I'm just trying to remember what peace feels like."
For a moment, neither of them spoke.
Then Kelvin pulled her closer.
And for the first time in a very long while, peace didn't feel so far away.
But while they lay peacefully together, just outside on the street, a car sat parked in the shadows, watching the house.
