Natsu P.o.v:

I woke up to my ringtone blaring in my ears.

I fumbled around my bedside table for my phone, answering without looking at the caller ID.

"Mf- Hello?"

"GET YOUR ASS OUT OF BED YOU'RE GONNA BE LATE. LUCY'S WAITING OUTSIDE." Gajeel screamed into my ear making me pull the phone away and cringe.

"I'm coming jeez."

I gasped when I looked in the mirror, still not used to my new appearance. Smiling, I got my clothes and continued getting ready.

I got washed and dressed, brushing my teeth before making my way downstairs and looking at the clock.

"GAJEEL!"

"What?" He said, looking up at me in shock.

"IT'S NOT EVEN TIME TO GO YET! IT'S 7:15 YOU ASSHOLE." I glared at him.

"Yeah well I thought I'd get you up early so that there was no chance you'd be late." He smiled evily at me.

I walked over to him and pushed his face into his cereal bowl.

"You little shit!" He shouted, milk dripping down his face.

There were quick footsteps and then Wendy and Sting where in the room. They looked at Gajeel, then me and then back at Gajeel again before bursting into laughter.

"Yeah, very fucking funny."

"Bet you're glad you got me up early now." I said and winked.

I watched TV for a while until I heard Lucy honking the horn outside.

I smiled, and grabbed my shit before running to the door.

"SEE YA FAMILIO, LUCY'S HERE!"

*time skip*

Never in my life have I had so many eyes on me.

I walked side by side with Lucy, an awkward smile plastered on my face as my classmates took in my new 'style.'

And then there was a tap on my shoulder. I turned around and was met by none other than my crush...

Because you know, life can never give me a break.

"Can I ask where you got that?" Gray said softly, pointing at the cross necklace around my neck.

"Uh... W-well..."

"I gave it to him." Lucy said, knowing I probably wouldn't be able to get any coherent sentences out.

"I found it on the field round the back of school... why?"

"Oh... It just looks very very similar to mine..." he said, looking at her with a smile that melted my heart every time.

"Really? Well how could we tell if it's yours?"

Gray looked at me and then the necklace, he took a step forwards and turned it around in his hand.

The letters were engraved at the bottom of the cross in tiny writing, so that you could only see it if you knew it was there.

"Gray Fullbuster... G and F." He said softly.

"Y-you can have it back, sorry." I said, reaching my hands up to fumble with the catch.

"No. You can have it... It suits you better."

"Come again?" Lucy said with a look of disbelief hinting at her features.

"You heard me. Keep it Natsu, I like your hair by the way, you look hot." He smiled and then just like that he was gone.

The people staring at me had long since left, and it was now just me and Lucy in the hallway.

We must of looked pretty stupid, two teenagers just standing alone with their mouths open in shock.

Lucy was the first one to break the silence.

"I just witnessed my best friends crush call him hot..."

"I just witnessed my crush call me hot..."

We looked at each other for a second, a shared alarm ringing inside of our brains. We both let out a long, high pitched squeal that echoed down the hall.

All chatter in the classrooms stopped and there were footsteps.

"Shit... run for it." I whisper shouted, and we were off, we ran as fast as we could to the school field where we fell to the ground to catch our breath.

"I-I can't... belive... I just... ran." I said, trying to regain use of my lungs.

"Totally worth it though." Lucy said beside me, her breathing already going back to normal.

I nodded as I lay down fully on the grass.

"Oh yeah, totally worth it..."
