THIRTY-SIX
LORENZO ELRIC GARCHITORENA
FROM MY bedroom, I stepped downstairs to go to the kitchen for my breakfast. Good thing that my legs are now recovering from being wobbly and gelatinous since yesterday. Thank goodness that my body temperature is getting down.
But it's too bad that I haven't go to school for the second day of the Sports Fest because I'm still recovering from my fever and also from that embarrassing-as-heck incident yesterday. And it seems that I've become a poster boy of a guy who fainted on the first day of the event. Nice, I'm still overwhelmed with the fame that I had. I can't wait for the people to recall me as the guy who suddenly knocked out near the auditorium.
How could it be done, then?
As I reached the table, I opened the dome food cover to check what's for breakfast. How weird that Ate Gigi haven't cooked anything. Besides, I'm not in the mood to eat. My appetite is still away and I still don't have news for its comeback.
I scratched my head and go to the living room to see Ate Gigi. And there she is, watching from the television.
"Good morning po, Ate," I greeted her with a groggy tone. Then, I noticed that her eyebrows furrowed from my greeting to her.
"Lorenzo, hapon na." I was left puzzled from what she said.
But then, napatingin naman ako sa kung saan siya nanonood at ang ipinapalabas na 'yong kaniyang favorite afternoon soap opera na sinusubaybayan niya. And that's when everything sank in. How weird that I perceived that it's already morning. Dahil siguro sa kakapahinga ko.
"Okay ka na ba riyan? Gusto mo ng makakain?" she approached me when the title card appeared from the TV and commercial break starts rolling.
"Hindi na ho, medyo wala pa rin po akong ganang kumain," I asked while still standing.
"Oo nga pala, may nagpadala ng cupcakes dito kanina. Pinabibigay raw sa iyo." My eyes widened from what I've heard.
"Huh? Kanino po galing?" I asked again Tita Gigi.
"Nalimutan ko na, pero Foodpanda nagpadala, eh. Tingnan mo na lang sa loob ng ref." I followed her orders and I directed once again to the kitchen and opened the refrigerator. There lies a small box from the middle shelf.
It's so sad that I can't eat all of these.
And there's a small note attached to the cover which is blue in color. I unfolded it and noticed a handwritten letter.
Get well soon, Lorenzo. Labyu!

Well, I guess he remembers. It's so heartwarming to see that they're making an effort to make me cheer up. I realized that there are still people who still care--that I'm not alone in this world. I'm so lucky to have these people. Gah, why am I being this sentimental?
