November 13th: Tevun-Krus #106 - Best of '22

Like its older brothers, we keep this bad bubba of an issue locked up in chains, only allowed visits from writers we specifically ask to come aboard. Each of the previous sub-genres covered throughout the year gets a brand-spankin'-new story from some of the readers' and Tevun-Krus' favourite writers.

December 18th: Tevun-Krus #107 - A Very Merry PiratePunk Christmas, Matey!

PiratePunk works can be set in a wide variety of historical eras, ranging from 14BC when the Sea People attacked Egypt, to the 'Golden Age of Piracy' which spanned from the 1650s to the 1730s, or in the far future and outer space. Add a little Christmasy twist, et voilà: Merry Christmas, Matey!

January 2023: TK Special #7 - Return to the M'Verse: An OOORAH Anthology

Each of the stories eventually featured in Return to the M'Verse will be set within a Universe of the writer's creation, while all being a part of a larger, shared Multiverse.

At the Ooorah Mothership, we call this the M'Verse.

The M'Verse is a place of infinite possibilities. But, just to make things fun, there are five rules that each story cannot contradict. (Check out the Return to the M'Verse book on the profile).

Beyond that, as long as a story is brand-new, 5000 words at the most, as well as being science fiction (cyberpunk, bonepunk, steampunk, stonepunk, generation ship—whatever!), it's suitable for submission.

February 22nd 2023: Tevun-Krus #108 - International 7: The Big Bang!

The universe began, scientists believe, with every speck of its energy jammed into a very tiny point. This extremely dense point exploded with unimaginable force, creating matter and propelling it outward to make the billions of galaxies of our vast universe. Astrophysicists dubbed this titanic explosion the Big Bang.

And that's where we're going with the next international issue of Tevun-Krus: All languages and species welcome!

March 12th 2023: Tevun-Krus #109 - Forgotten Contact

First contact as a science-fiction theme is perhaps the most fascinating—because so many seem to believe we've experienced it in the real world! Have we been contacted by alien entities? We can't answer that question here at the Mothership, but we can use it as a springboard for a great TK issue!

Our very first issue, way back in 2013, was First Contact. Years later we revisited it with Return to First Contact, then did a companion issue that same year entitled Final Contact. Now we're back for 2K23 with Forgotten Contact. Technically that's four issues, but only three themes!

The constant in all three of these themes is the idea of alien contact actually happening. But where Forgotten Contact differs is that it refers to a world where contact with aliens has somehow been forgotten. Lost to time—or maybe hushed-up? It doesn't even need to take place on Earth!

April 9th 2023: Tevun-Krus #110 - Punk Wars 3

The Ooorah classic is back for a third entry.

Punk Wars is when two (or more) -Punk worlds collide! Maybe things go south when a few techies party it up in a VR club and a wormhole opens, bringing forth LunarPunk moon-howlers and more!? Or maybe this is a world where two technologies compete for first place in a dangerous world of corruption? Or maybe something else entirely!

After two solid issues—the first back in Tevun-Krus #29, the second in Tevun-Krus #70—we've seen more than a few different ways to skin a CyberPunk cat!

May 4th 2023: Tevun-Krus #111 - Space Opera Episode III: Time of the Mothertrooper

We first tackled Space Opera all the way back in Tevun-Krus #4, then we returned to it in Tevun-Krus #55 for a May the 4th special. Well now it's time to complete the trilogy.

If you don't know what space opera is by now, well, see those previous issues!

June 4th 2023: Tevun-Krus #112 - Animal SF

In the broadest sense, Animal SF refers to science fiction with a primary focus or emphasis on animals and animal-related themes. Remember Animorphs? That's Animal SF. Pokemon? Animal SF, too! That gritty story you wrote about your flying, crime-fighting cat? Animal SF!

Oh, and all those cool little niche sub-genres like CatPunk, DogPunk, GoldfishPunk, Mexican Hairless RatPunk—those all fit under the big umbrella that is Animal SF!

July 2nd 2023: Tevun-Krus #113 - Flat Earth (A Different Earth, 1 of 3)

You read that right. The Mothership is taking on the "flat earth." Now it goes without saying we believe the world is round—but what if it wasn't? Or maybe it suddenly went flat? Or maybe your exploration vessel comes across a mysterious pancake-flat planet? Or perhaps you want to get meta with your tale, and debunk this "theory" once and for all! It's your story!

Flat Earth is the first in a trilogy of issues dedicated to the concept of an Earth that differs from our own. Maybe all three of your stories will be related in some way? It's your choice!

August 6th, 2023: Tevun-Krus #114 - Hollow Earth (A Different Earth, 2 of 3)

After taking on the flat earth, it seems obvious what's next! The hollow earth "theory" is another bit of junk that's gained some traction online in recent years. But what if we came across a world that actually was hollow? As always, you tell the tale you wish to tell.

Hollow Earth is the second in a trilogy of issues dedicated to the concept of an Earth that differs from our own. Maybe all three of your stories will be related? It's your choice!

September 3rd 2023: Tevun-Krus #115 - Ringworlds (A Different Earth, 3 of 3)

The "ringworld" is a classic sci-fi concept. Imagine a self-sustaining artificial world that just so happens to be shaped like a giant ring. Sometimes it looks like a big generation ship. Other times it looks like a ring-shaped planet. What will your ringworld be?

Ringworlds is the third in a trilogy of issues dedicated to the concept of an Earth that differs from our own. Maybe all three of your stories will be related? It's your choice!

October 1st 2023: Tevun-Krus #116 - Horror SF

At long last we've decided to broadly tackle Horror SF. Zombies, vampires, werewolves, space aliens from Uranus, murder, mayhem, mystery, a haunted airlock that won't shut properly—if it's horror and it's science fiction, it fits!
