Goodbye is the saddest thing to say

***************

Hajiya Kaltumi was seating down calmly in her parlour sipping her coffee because she needs it "Marmie you're too calm to my liking" Hadiza said pacing up and down waiting for her brother to burst into the parlour any moment and his no where to be seen

"He will come, let me enjoy my coffee. You know the saying that says silence before the storm. That's what we're experiencing. So seat down and calm down Cox I have a believe that any moment from now he will enter, " Marmie said, and Hadiza sat down not because she's calm but to obey her mother's order. Hadiza was about to open her mouth when the door to the parlour was open with full force, which made Hadiza fear Cox. She didn't like seeing her brother angry. His angry brother is not someone you want to get close to. AA breathes in and out for some seconds before he speaks. He can't believe Tehzeeb audacity to talk back to him "Marmie who is she, and what is she doing in my room?" He went direct to the question which Marmie was calm. No more babe or all the pet names he used to call her, just Marmie, which means his angry

"Tehzeeb, don't you know her, or have you forgotten about her?" Hajiya Kaltumi said and sipped her coffee

"That's not what I want to hear. I know she's Tehzeeb, but I don't think that gives her the right to enter my room dressed like that. " Both Marmie and Hadiza look at him because of what he said.

"How is she dressing?" Marmie asked, trying to prolong the issue

"Oh God, Marmie. Must I tell you what she wears? All I need is the perfect answer to define that scenario that took place in my room. "

"Well then, since you can't tell me how she dressed, that means you already know the answer."

"I don't get you. Stop talking in circles and go straight to the point, Marmie. It's unlike you to do that, "AA said, puffing air out of his mouth because his tired of Marmie going round

"You want the answer?"

"Yes, I do,"he answered

"Then hope you're ready for what I am going to say?" Marmie asked

"Oh God, Marmie, stop all this and tell me already, or I go inside that room beat the heal out of her before throwing her out," AA said angrily

"Your Wife" Marmie answers shortly which AA could not get her because he thought he did not hear her very well so he turned and looked at Deedee and saw her shifting uncomfortably on the chair before he turned to look at his mother who look calm

"Come again," he said quietly

"She's your wife. Now go in there, beat her, and come and beat me so you can show me you have grown up, " Marmie said, which made AA fall down on the nearest chair close to him. He used his hand to hold his head. He used his hand to wipe his face up and down, breathing and sighing heavily. He couldn't believe what he had just heard. He waited for a while to hear some laughter to show that they were lying, but none came, Deedee did not say anything that made AA believe his mother is not joking

"Why?" He asked

"Must I have a reason to get you a wife?" Marmie asked."No, I get that answer will do. For how long have I been asking you to get married? Did you listen to me?" Marmie asked."That's too. No. So I took it as my top priority to get you one, and I did. And you know what?. Everything has been paid, even the Nikkah have taken place, now it's your turn to take care of her as your wife. She's now your responsibility, or can you tell me the reason you don't want to get married is because you follow girls around and sleep with them?" Asked Marmie loosing her calm nature AA immediately looked at her for the last statement she made not believing her "it's a question that need an answer, if not I don't see a reason why a full grown up man like you won't get himself a wife if his normal and don't sleep around" Marmie said looking at him to dare her

"Marmie, how can you say that. Am your son, for God's sake, you should know what I am capable of and not capable of doing"

"I think that changed. And oh, so you know you're my son, but still yet you can't do what I asked for. And if you said you're not having any illicit affairs outside, then you will be happy I got you a wife and not the other way round"

"Marmie, you're taking things far," AA said, defeated because of the way he saw his mother talking

"No, I am not. You're the one taking it far. I want the grandchildren period and not with any other person but between you and Tehzeeb, and that's Final"

"But you have one already. Nawal is there. "

"I don't think I need a reminder for that, I know I have one but I want one from you too or is that a crime or is it too much for a mother to asked that from her son?" AA didn't answer."Then that is it. It's either you accept this marriage or I give you the deadline to give me a grandchild within this year" both Hadiza and AA looked at there mother "yes and I mean it,since you don't know what's good for you"

"But Marmie," Hadiza tried to say

"Young lady, I am not talking to you right now. I am talking to your bro, so don't interfere."

"But Marmie, how is that even possible?"

"I don't know, but if you accept the marriage, then fine by me. At least with that, I can give you some time to get to know each other before I start talking about my grandchildren." AA sighed

"Fine. Guess you're happy?"

"Have never been so happy in my life, at least have fulfilled all your father's wished, just one remaining," Marmie said and walked out on them, leaving the siblings alone

"Am sorry, bro. I hope you understand Marmie and give Tehzeeb a little chance," Hadiza said

"Please not you too or rather not now. My head is aching me. There's too much to take in upon my arrival. I would like to be left alone, " AA said as calmly as possible because he didn't want to deal with a crying Hadiza now if he shouted on her. Deedee nodded and stood up and left him all alone.

Tehzeeb dressed up immediately after AA left and arranged the remaining things. She walks out to the parlour and removes her phone. Her phone rings, but she could not pick because of the name on the screen. She was contemplating on maybe to pick or not but choose to pick "Salam Alaikum" she greated but got no reply "hello" she said again before she put it on speaker thinking maybe her phone is faulty

"Am sorry for calling you,I know it's not a good idea for me to be calling you because you're married to someone else. You're someone else wife. Tehzeeb, " he called, which Tehzeeb was already in tears. She never thought she would hear his voice again, the voice she came to love. The voice she fell in love with, the voice that's always there to soothes her heart whenever she's in pain "I know you're crying that's why you're not answering me, but I want you to know something that I love you and will always do but we have to keep our love aside and face the reality. I know it's will be difficult to move on, but with time, we both will heal. I want you to forget about me, I want you to take me as your brother from now onwards, not as your ex lover. Let's forget about the past and face reality. I know you don't love him, and he doesn't love you too, but please give it a chance. Respect your husband and love him just like you would love me if you were married to me. Give him a chance the same way you gave me and I promised you won't regret it. We men tend to show we're strong in terms of love, but we're not when we have the care and support of our wives. We love to be listened to, attend too, and care for the same way you ladies want. It's just that there's a few differences because we know how to conceal our emotions very well. I could have loved to talk more, but I can't because I don't know if your husband is around or not. My regards to him when you have past the must difficult phase Cox I know that's the phase you both will be now, finding it difficult to accept each other but please try and give him a chance. I wish to hear your voice for the last time, Tehzeeb, " Bashir said calmly. Tehzeeb covered her mouth because of the whimpers. She wanted to talk but could not. The pain was too much. She never know she loves him this much, until they're saying goodbye. No wonder people said goodbye is the saddest thing you will ever say.

"Ba.." she tried to say, but she couldn't."Bas..." She tries again, but it's still come out muffled "Bashir" she said finally, which she heard him chuckled

"Takes you long enough, but nevertheless, thank you for fulfilling my wishes. Take care and cry no more, don't be sick and stress your husband" and he ends the call which Tehzeeb dropped her phone which shattered and she cried more vigorously all her body responding to her cries because every part of her was shaking. AA walked in and saw her in that situation but said nothing. Rather, he walked past her, which Tehzeeb did not care because she alone knew what's she's feeling deep down

Finally, Hadiza won the case , and Umma will be taking back her house from Umaru. They left the court, and Umma went straight to her house to meet Umaru. She entered without Salam. "I told you when I am through with you, and you will regret knowing me. You have a day to pack and leave my house, or else" Umma said and walked out, leaving Umaru speechless

"Mugu (wickedness) is not good. Let me start packing my things. I hope you have a place to keep me because I can't go back to my father house?" Mairo asked

"Why can't you for once act like a human being?" Umaru spat angrily

"Or don't you know we're animal, just that we're of higher level. I just hope you have where to keep me because I can't stay on the street" Mairo said waiting for Umaru's reply which he did not answer her"have forgotten you have a house ooo the one you leaves in before you pack here" Mairo said which Umaru look at her thinking how she knows "don't be surprised my husband. You see, I love doing investigation, you don't think I could have married you if I don't know you have some assets. You lied. I married you because of money, " Mairo said, using her finger to trace Umaru's face seductively."Now let's go and pack, " she whispered in his ears and left, leaving Umaru stunned. He doesn't know what he has gotten himself into
