Tyler
I managed to pull Skylar out of the room just in time to hear Cameron's voice calling from down the hall.
"Tyler!"
"Woah, my head. Everything just flipped upside down." Skylar muttered, pressing a hand to her forehead. "Is that Cameron?"
"Yeah, he was going to see if he could find the others. You alright?" I asked, watching her grit her teeth.
"Yeah, I'm fine. It's just, wow. I didn't expect coming out of a room would hurt your head so bad."
"I didn't do that. I was fine." I said, a little worried.
She shrugs. "Don't worry about it, it's just a headache. Maybe I was in there too long. I've dealt with worse before."
"Tyler!" Cameron's voice called again. "Where are you?"
Skylar stood up a little straighter, taking her hand off of her forehead. "We should probably go tell him we're both fine."
"Right." I said, and started running down the hall towards Cameron's voice, Skylar behind me.
"Cameron!" I yelled back. "We're here!"
I finally saw Cameron, standing in front of a door. "Oh, thank Notch. I was beginning to think I'd have to come get you again. Wait, are you bleeding?"
I looked at my arm, only to see the green of my hoodie stained a dark red. "Oh. Right. Skylar thought I was something that I wasn't." I explained. "She put up a fight. I'm good, though."
"So you found Skylar? Nice." Cameron gave a weak smile. "Glad to see you're both in one piece."
"Who'd you find?" I asked.
"Jenna." He says, pointing to a door I had passed on the way. "She's over there."
I hadn't even noticed Jenna, slumped on the ground, unconscious.
"Is she okay?"
"Don't know. Found her in the room totally conscious, but she was screaming something about Jeremy and leaving her alone. She knocked herself unconscious right in front of me."
"How'd she do that?"
He shrugged. "I have no idea what she was seeing. All I knew was that my fears were starting up again, and I had better get her out of there."
"So, who's in here?" Skylar asked.
"No idea." He said. "None of the doors have been labeled so far. It's all been a game of roulette so far. It's very puzzling, really. Why not label where you're keeping your victims? It seems as though Darklox would have a hard time keeping track of us all-"
"Wait, wait, wait." I said. "We don't know that Darklox did this to us."
"Tyler. We were attacked by something that could control us with its mind. I'm pretty sure it's one of Darklox's new friends." Skylar said, giving me a "duh" look.
"Okay, you've got a point." I said.
"I'll go see if I can't locate any more doors." Cameron said. "Splitting up seems like the best tactic here. I'll be back if I can't find any."
And with that, he ran down the hall, quickly disappearing.
I turned to face the door.
"Skylar, are you coming with me or what?"
"Wouldn't we cover more ground if we split up?" She asked. "You know, like Cameron literally just suggested?"
"Yeah, but I don't like these rooms." I admitted. "They freak me out."
"Why didn't you say that when Cameron was around?"
"I...I didn't want him making fun of me."
She sighed. "You boys and your fragile egos."
"Hey!" I exclaimed.
"It's true."
"Either way, come on, we'll get whoever's in there out faster if we work as a team."
"I'm not good with teams." She said.
"You've been good with all of us so far. Please?"
"Oh...fine. But you're going in first."
"Deal."
