Darklox

I slam the door shut behind me, clenching my fist around the sword in my hands. The idiot still won't talk. He's infuriating me.

I stare at the sword in my hands. The once bright blue edge now has a dark red tinge to it, and I can't help but grin. I did that. I got out of that wretched box, and now they are all paying for what they did to me.

I start walking down the hall, when a petrified voice yells in my head, giving me a splitting headache.

"Let me out! What did I do? What did they do? You have to stop this!"

"Hush up." I say aloud. "Or I swear, they'll be dead faster than you can say your own name,  you pathetic human."

He shuts his mouth, and the headache I had disappears.

I head into the main room, throwing my sword to the side, not bothering to see where it lands.

I need to know where that amulet is... I think to myself. But it won't be much longer now. Sky is nothing but a twig now, soon to snap in half by my hands.

"Sky will never break down, he wou-

"Didn't I tell you to keep your obnoxiously loud mouth quiet?" I snap. "If the lives of those humans don't matter so much to you, I'd like to remind you that there is nothing stopping me from breaking your body beyond repair and then leaving you behind. In fact, one of them has been my vessel before. I can always go back to him."

Suddenly, a cold breeze fills the room, and I turn to see one of the Shadows standing there.

"What do you want?" I spit out. "As I recall, you are supposed to be causing havoc like I told you to."

"Apologies, sir." It says.

"Did I ask for apologies?" I ask. "I asked for an explanation."

He shuffles his feet. "I've come across some information."

"Well, it had better be good." I say, stepping closer towards him. "Or I may be forced to take drastic measures."

He cowers.

"Don't cower." I snap. "It shows that you are just as weak as those humans. Tell me the information, now."

He straightens, and clears his throat. "I have found the location of the children."

"Have you?" I ask. "And how did you figure this out, exactly?"

"Well...I was in that town that you sent me to, along with the others. We agreed that the other two would cause most of the trouble while I stayed back and made sure everything was going as planned. The children came to the town."

"So, you're telling me that instead of following my orders, you just sat back and watched?" I ask, my anger rising.

"I'm not done, sir. There's more."

"There had better be." I say.

"There are nine children. Only three pose a true threat."

I laugh. "No children could pose a threat, but tell me, what makes a weakling such as yourself cower at the mere thought of them?"

"There are two with blond hair who have enchanted weapons, and the third...well..."

"Well? Spit it out! What do I keep you around for?"

He takes a step backwards, and doesn't meet my eyes.

"Don't back away from me." I say, stepping forward again. "You tell me exactly what is so threatening about the third."

"The third...has a sword unlike any other I've ever seen, sir. It appeared out of thin air, and has a golden blade. He vanquished the others."

I falter as I process what he just said.

"Hang on, is the halter purple? And did the child in question have something around his neck?" I demand.

He nods his he quickly. "I wasn't able to see what the child had around his neck though, sir."

The pieces come together in my mind. A child has the amulet, no doubt one of Sky's little brats. A golden and purple sword that appeared out of thin air...

The brat figured out how to work the amulet.

I had to admit, I didn't see it coming.

"Well then, do you know anything else?" I ask.

"They were talking for a bit about a compass. Something about detecting dark energy."

A plan formulates in my mind.

"Good work. Here."

I wave my hand, and about twenty more Shadows appear out of the ground. It drains me to create so many at once, but this plan will make it worth it.

"Take these and go to the Maze. Under no circumstances are you to attack the children. Bring them here alive, in preferably one piece. However, if a few are in multiple pieces, that's no matter. Let them stay in the Maze for a while, though. Let them confuse friend with enemy. Do you understand me?"

The original Shadow nods. "Yes, sir."

Another cold breeze drifts through the room, and in a blink, the Shadows are gone.

I grin. Soon enough, that amulet will be mine, and I can finally get my true revenge.

Looks like Darklox is up to no good...
