"THERE'S A HUNDRED AND FOUR DAYS OF SUMMER VACA-"

Skylar cut Jenna off. "I swear, if you two launch into one more Phineas and Ferb song, I might just kill you."

Jeremy gave her a puppy-dog face. "Pleeeeease? One more?"

"Ooh! We haven't done the one with the two Doofenshmirtz's yet!" Jenna hopped up and down.

"You did that one two hours ago!" Shane protested, but they started up again.

"Wait for it...BACCA TWIN VERSION: COMMENCE!" Jenna exclaimed.

"I FOOOOOOUND A BRAND NEW BEST FRIEND AND IT'S ME!" Jeremy screamed, and Jenna happily joined in.

"I FOOOOOOUND A BRAND NEW BEST FRIEND, AND IT'S ME!"

"NOW THAT I FOUND YOU..."

"WE CAN BE A DUO!"

"TWICE THE TROUBLE..."

"DOUBLE BACCA TWINS!"

Jenna stepped backwards, towards the rest of us. "COMING AT YOU: FRIIIIIDAYS!"

"Woah, wait, what's that, are we doing like, a t.v. show together?" Jeremy asked, doing what apparently was a spot-on impression of some Dr. Doofen-whatsits or something. At least, that's what Tyler said last time they did it, but I had no idea what the show was.

"Oh, no, it just, it just sort of sounded like...I, I mean we could? We should!" Jenna rejoined her brother.

"Hmm, maybe we're not so much alike." Jeremy muttered.

"That could be your catch phrase! You're the grumpy one." Jenna smiled, poking her brother. "Ehh?" She poked him again.

Everyone groaned.

"Seriously you guys, you need to take this seriously." Cameron said.

Jenna straightened. "Jeremy, I think Cameron seriously wants us to take this serious situation very seriously."

Jeremy grinned. "Right. Don't worry, Cameron. We're seriously taking this very serious situation in the most seriously way possible. Seriously."

Cameron scowled.

Jenna snorted. "Nice addition at the end there, Jeremy."

"Shut up. You try to say seriously as much as you can."

"I already did! You're the one who's having the problems." Jenna stuck her tongue out at him.

Jeremy opened his mouth to say something, but I cut him off.

"Um, could someone please explain what this cartoon even is?" I asked.

They all stopped walking to turn and stare at me.

"What?"

"You don't know Phineas and Ferb?" Tyler asked, his jaw dropping slightly.

"...No." I said, feeling like I'd said something wrong.

"Obviously not." Cameron said. "I mean, it's physically impossible for the signals that send the shows to the televisions from the stations to reach the thermosphere, or even the stratosphere, so the very thought that the signals could reach the outer levels of space is unheard of."

Now it was Cameron's turn to be stared at.

He shuffled awkwardly in his spot. "What? I got curious about how t.v. shows got to televisions one day, I looked into it. Didn't you guys do that?"

"No...?" Shane questioned. "How old were you when you did that?"

"Seven." Cameron answered, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.

Tyler whistled. "Wow. When I was seven, I just assumed it was a magic box."

"Well, I don't like assuming." Cameron said sheepishly.

"Clearly." Quinn said, a small smile on her face.

"Hey, let me see the compass." Shane said, reaching towards Quinn's hand.

She shrieked, dropping it on the ground, causing Shane to snap his hand back.

"What?" He asked.

"...Nothing, nothing." She muttered. "You can take it."

"O...kay?" Shane said, picking up the compass.

He studied it for a bit. "I think we're getting close. Let's keep going."

"How can you tell?" Skylar asked, peering over Shane's shoulder to look at the compass.

"See? It's starting to wobble back and forth, like a smaller version of what happened in the town." He said, pointing at the compass.

"Yeah, let's not talk about the town." Cameron muttered.

"Wait. Where'd the twins go?" I asked, looking around and noticing the twins weren't there.

Almost as if they heard me, the twins came up over the hill in front of us.

"Hey guys, while you were all wasting your time, we checked out what's over the hill!" Jenna called.

"You guys have got to see this!" Jeremy exclaimed, before they disappeared over the hill.

We all looked at each other.

"Well, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em." Shane muttered, and we raced all ran to catch up with the twins.

****

"Woah." I said, stepping up towards the door.

A maze stood in front of us, taller than any building I'd ever seen before, and so wide that no matter which way I looked, I couldn't see another way around.

"Geez. How do we get past this thing?" Tyler asked. "It's too big to get around."

"We're not going to go around it." Shane said. "We're going through it. Look at the compass, it's pointing straight ahead."

"Dad never mentioned anything about a maze, but it would make sense for a place to hide people..." Skylar mused.

"Well, what are we waiting for?" Jenna asked.

"Yeah, let's rock this thing!" Jeremy exclaimed, and they both stepped inside the maze.

"Have you two learned nothing from Salem?" Cameron asked.

"Oh, come on, Cam, take a risk!" Jenna grinned. "How else are we gonna save our parents?"

"She's got a point..." Tyler agreed.

"Okay, fine. Let's go." Skylar says, and we all carefully stepped into the maze.

As soon as we had all made it in, the huge gateway slid shut behind us, and we were left alone, facing nine corridors.

"Well then." Shane muttered. "Looks like we aren't going anywhere."

He spoke too soon.

An invisible forced shoved us all apart from each other, holding each of us in front of a corridor.

"What the-!" Skylar started, speechless for any other words.

"Hey!" Cameron and Shane exclaimed almost at the same time, which was kind of creepy.

"I don't like this!" I called out.

"BACCA TWINS HAVE BEEN SEPARATED! HALP! PANICKING!" Jenna screeched, and Jeremy flailed around, trying to get back to the ground.

Macey yelped, the loudest sound I'd ever heard her make, and fear reflected on her face as she struggled.

"Macey!" Tyler exclaimed, straining against the strange force, trying to get back to his little sister.

Suddenly, a wall slid shut in front of each corridor, trapping each of us inside our own corridor, and the invisible force disappeared, causing me to drop to the ground.

"Guys?" I called, but no one responded.

It looked like I was on my own.
