Chapter 6: Lost
"Wow, so this is where you guys live?" Syd exclaimed in awe, looking around the spacious, yet plain living room area of their home. "It's so plain though, like - you'd never expect a young couple to be living here. Mainly an old couple, in their 70s."
Alissa sighed, dreading whatever was coming next, she wanted to save Syd. No, needed. In all honesty, Alissa would have felt less bad if he had brought home a complete stranger.
"Yeah, we just prefer a more plain decor style. You never know." Alissa shrugged, biting her lower lip as she waddled to the kitchen.
Wyatt was pouring a glass of red wine for the two of them, adding a bit more in his glass.
"Wyatt..." Alissa repeatedly whispered into his ear, until she got his attention. "C-Can I see-"
"Wow, can't even be patient huh?" He gave out an airy chuckle, mocking her desperation to see Celare. "I'll give him to you myself, just wait."
Wyatt added an unfamiliar pill into the glass that was assigned to Syd. He walked out to the living room holding the two glasses, handing her the correct one. Due to the larger amount in his own glass - he could have never gotten the two mixed up.
"Thanks." Syd stated, staring at an oil painting that hung below the wooden frame couch of the living room. "Who is it?"
"Tara." Wyatt smiled as she proposed the question. "It's this android I'm working on right now. My current plan for her is to have her almost very human like. With uh, interchangeable wigs, skin like texture so she could apply whatever makeup she wants and of course - going from small jingles to just everyday conversations." He seemed so happy and genuine when he talked about his creations, mainly his favorite - Tara.
Nobody really understood it, aside from his other geeky friends who had the same passion and source of income. Wyatt never spoke about his own girlfriend or child the way he spoke about his androids. Some would call him obsessed, but he saw it as a fun and productive past time.
Meanwhile, Alissa stayed in the kitchen planning escape plans that the two girls could possibly use - however, she wasn't going to leave without her baby. So she had to work around a way to get inside the locked nursery door without alerting Wyatt.
Syd took a sip of her wine while making small talk with Wyatt in the process. Little by little, the drowsiness started to overcome - making her words slurred and vision blurry.
"Hm, W-Wyatt..." She attempted to stand up, failing to do so as her left knee bumped against the coffee table's edge, surely to leave a bruise.
Wyatt calmly stood up, placing his glass on the table and holding Syd together as she was now making sense of the situation and attempted to flee.
All the noise snapped Alissa out of her thoughts, rushing to the living room in hopes that the process didn't begin. To her dismay, she saw Wyatt holding Syd tightly - trying to make her pass out as quickly as possible. All she could do was watch in horror and panic - being calm on the outside, but screaming for Wyatt to stop on the inside.
"Let her go.." A small, faint whisper was the only audible noise that left Alissa's lips - a tear following after. "Wyatt, please let her go, this isn't right. She's o-our friend."
"What difference does it make? I would have done this to anyone we found tonight."
"W-Who's we?" Her voice broke.
"You and me, Alissa. We found her. We."
She shook her head in disgust, not wanting to make her gullible-self believe that this was partially her fault as well. Alissa marched up to Wyatt, despite his taller stance against her.
"I didn't do anything. I'm not a part of this sick, twisted dress up and murder game you play with people and those robots!"
"You had work tonight, I always pick you up from work. If it weren't for you and your shifts and your work - we wouldn't have found Syd walking in the middle of nowhere."
Alissa stayed quiet, slowing starting to blame herself as he continued to speak. Maybe it was her fault. If she didn't go to work today, Wyatt wouldn't have to find Syd walking around late at night. It was all her fault. She stared aimlessly as Syd struggled to break free from Wyatt's grip - already passing out completely at this point.

"Hello?" Andrew stated confused, butting out the joint he had between his fingers.
Alissa stayed silent - the words being too suppressed in her throat to come out. She opened her mouth countless times but couldn't get a single word out, not even a sigh.
"Uh, who is this? Hello?" Andrew repeated again, furrowing his brows as he did so. He shook his head, thinking it was just another prank caller.
She heard Wyatt's footsteps coming up the second story and quickly hung up the phone, the fear of being caught rushed throughout her body. Alissa quickly turned off her phone in case Wyatt wanted to check through it.
He opened the front door aggressively, watching his lover stare back in shock - not knowing what would be coming next.
"Come downstairs."
"W-Wyatt, I don't really w-"
"You want to see Celare don't you?" He raised a brow.
"Who's Celare?" She spoke out worriedly, hoping that wouldn't be the name of the child. Her child.
"Our child's name. I named him Celare. Now are you comi- you know what? Just come here." He marched inside, grabbing a hold of her small wrist and being dragged downstairs to the basement.
All the while, she looked at him in shock. It was so hard to imagine all the good times they spent together when this is who he's been all this time. He even named her child without consulting her about the name. She felt defeated and broken.
Should she even be fighting for safety anymore?
Wow, this was kind of a really dark chapter to write. Also, I think for the next few chapters I'll include more dialogue instead of descriptions - would you guys like that?
Also what did you think of this chapter? Was it heartless for Alissa to do nothing for Syd, or do you think she fears even breathing around Wyatt?
What are you guys expecting for the next few chapters, I would love to hear your thoughts! Thank you all for the support and reads and comments! I love you guys! x
