Weasley gathering

George led them in with a half smile. "Hi Harry." He then nodded to the blond. "Malfoy."

As usual, the place was busy. Fleur was there helping Molly, a child ran past, and there was a commotion in a room a little further ahead. Despite Draco's inner voice telling him to run, Draco continued to follow Harry as he greeted everyone. Harry had offered to help Molly with the cooking, but he was swiftly told they had it under control. As a second thought she began scolding Harry about feeding Draco more. Draco's cheeks felt extremely warm.

Then they went further into the house. Further into what he'd been told for years was enemy territory.

"Harry! Welcome!" Arthur exclaimed the moment they'd come around the corner. "Tell me, what is google? I've begun hearing about this, and apparently someone tried to charm it."

That started a conversation he had trouble following. What were electronics? What was a search engine? Arthur was listening intently as Harry further simplified it to the point he had a slight idea. You could write a question, and it would explain it. Sometimes it didn't fully know how to answer things, so it would bring up anything that people had written that was even slightly similar. Rather a strange concept. What was wrong with books? They did the same thing, and seemed less complicated.

While Harry had been explaining, Draco took the opportunity to look around and process. He was surrounded by red heads. Stories from Lucius helped Draco identify Arthur Weasley. There was Percy who he recognized from school, there were two older red heads that were most likely Ron's siblings, and one of the twins sat in the kitchen glumly.

That was the first time Draco saw a frown on one of the twins faces, and where was the other one?

Before he was able to really think through more, the child that had ran by them earlier ran in. He was a toddler with red hair. After him followed Andromeda, who he recognized from his mother's hidden photos.

Once Draco had been searching through random cupboards and had come across a book. It had read, "Private." Unfortunately for his mom, he hadn't known how to read. There he had come across photos. Photos of his mom when she was younger with a wild haired witch, and a straight brown haired girl with a kind smile. When his mother found him, she explained that he could not say a word about these photos to his father. Then she proceeded to explain them. He remembered how her voice had trembled, and he hadn't ever told his father.

"Draco?" her voice brought him out of the memory.

Giving a hesitant smile and a nod. He didn't know if she hated his family for everything, or if she would ever accept him. So as usual, he prepared for the worst. To his absolute surprise, he felt himself encompassed in a strong hug. "I'm so glad to finally meet you." She said. Andromeda pulled back and gave him a warm smile. "In case you don't know, I'm your aunt Andromeda, and this here is your cousin Teddy.

The toddler beside her stood gaping up at him. It was funny how the toddler was displaying the same emotion that he felt.

"Daco? Cousin?"

Andromeda nodded again with another warm smile. Teddy's hair turned bright white, just like Draco's. This shocked Draco for a moment, and he stepped back. Suddenly the kid was hugging his leg. The Weasleys were watching the display, and began to laugh at the obvious show of shock at the hair change, and then the hug.

For a moment, Draco allowed the child to hug his leg, but then he decided the child had been hugging his leg long enough. So he tried to get him off. The little sucker wouldn't budge. Then he lost his balance, and with the lost control of his leg, he nearly fell. Luckily Harry saw what was happening, and grabbed Draco's torso.

"Loosen up Teddy or else you'll injure your cousin," Harry spoke kindly. Draco felt the words vibrate through him as the boy immediately got off of him.

The kid was full of energy. He started shouting happily, and dancing around a very uncomfortable Draco.

Andromeda saw how unsure Draco was about the whole situation he was in, so she decided to attempt to give Draco some space. For now. She urged Teddy into the living room.

The floo made a whooshing sound, and there were loud welcoming words spoken. "Is that Ron dear?" Molly asked. After hearing that it was indeed Ron, she spoke again, "Lovely. Then it's time for supper!"

If it weren't for Harry pulling him to the side of the room, Draco would have been trampled by a stampede of hungry Weasleys. His hair was not deserving of the damage it would have taken if Harry hadn't saved him again. What was it with Harry saving him lately anyway?

Looking at Draco with a smile was Harry. "I know it can be a lot to take in at first, but they're a really great family if you give them a chance. It's as weird for them to have you here as it is to be here for you."

Draco was pulled to the supper table, and watched as Mrs. Weasley piled up the plates. The moment she had placed the food, the ravenous red heads dug in. When she reached Harry, she put a noticeably larger portion, and the same for Draco. At some point Mrs. Weasley had called out to remember their manners, but she'd realized her attempt was futile.

Overlooking their obvious lack of table manners, Draco ate some of the food Mrs. Weasley had provided, and just as last time Draco had been here, it was delicious. He was grateful that this time he was fully dressed. The focus also wasn't on him this time. Not fully at least. They had definitely been keeping an eye on him though. Honestly Draco would have been worried about their mental well being if they hadn't been. Draco's own discomfort at being here was mirrored by the Weasleys towards him being there. They allowed it though. At the very least they were silent about his presence.

Molly made sure each of them ate enough before even letting them think of leaving the table. Before long, Draco found himself next to Harry listening in on conversations. They'd been listening to Arthur discuss their most recent issue in the muggle department of mysteries. Some lady was trying to use tattoos of runes to make herself invisible, as well as heal. There were others, but she'd gotten so many that their purposes had begun to intermix. Her invisibility would kick in when she attempted to use the rune for calming herself. Then it had become an issue when her rune to make her more powerful had been put into repeat by another rune, which had caused sudden strong bursts of energy. Figuring out how to magically stop the intermixing hadn't worked. Eventually they had to take her to a tattoo shop and have a couple removed. Arthur continued to speak of the issues they had when a muggle replicated it and accidentally turned invisible.

After a while, the room went silent, on the brink of a new topic. "Hey Charlie, how's life with dragons?" Ron was the one to bring the discussion to it's next topic. He was always up for hearing about Charlie's adventures.

"Fiery beasts as usual. Almost lost my leg last week. Was chasing a group to help a dragon get a foot free from a hunter's trap, when the four of them noticed us. They full on attacked. Mory barely escaped with his life. The daft soul thought working with dragons would be easy. You really need to gain a feel for 'em, and have listened through all the training. Which he obviously didn't. Wanna hear about how Mory first learned that?" The men all nodded eagerly.

That was when Molly walked in. Charlie immediately noticed and began speaking calmly, "and they're going to give me two weeks free right around Christmas this year, so I should be around." It wasn't that they wouldn't tell Molly of the dangerous things. It was more so that they knew she already worried far too much as it was, so they avoided telling her of the majority of the things that were life threatening in their jobs. The whole group had come to that agreement not long after Bill and Charlie left.

"Oh that's delightful!" Molly cried out. "That'll be all of the family home for Christmas!" George abruptly stood up, and walked out. Molly watched worriedly as he passed. "I really do have to watch my words. Poor boy."

Draco noticed everyone had gone rather serious. George had seemed upset about something, but Draco couldn't figure out what. It would be difficult to distinguish what due to everyone seeming to avoid the topic, but he would find out one way or another. He was a Slytherin after all.

"Will you be around for Christmas Harry? Draco?" Fleur asked. This caught Draco's attention.

Harry gave a nod. "We will be. I'm quite excited for it."

What were the Weasley's traditions? Would Draco have to partake? What could he get for them? What if they didn't want him there? The Malfoy's had always been very private on Christmas day. It was simply a day for them to spend much needed family time together. Draco was not part of their family.

Since Harry had not noticed his panicked looks, he poked him subtly. Even then, Harry didn't seem to understand his questioning looks. He sighed deeply, and turned back to the Weasleys. "Are you alright with me being there? On Christmas? I can stay at Harry's if you'd like."

"Oh nonsense. You'll be right there with us for Christmas." Molly spoke. "What kind of Christmas would it be if someone was home alone? Now, how would you like to test that new Quidditch equipment? Bill could you get George, and try to convince him to come play?"

With a little bit of shooing from Molly, and they were all outside. Even Arthur who had complained his old bones could not take their children's wild attitude. To which Molly replied they had gotten it from him so he would have to deal with it before thrusting a broom into his hands. Then she thrust one into Draco's hands, and another into Harry's.

Harry immediately began mounting and was about to take off when Draco grabbed his arm.

"What's up?" Harry asked seeing Draco biting his lip, and his wide eyes.

Glancing at his feet, Draco blurted, "I can't fly."

"What do you mean you can't fly? You're bloody amazing, and I was looking forward to having a challenge that's not as violent as Ginny!"

Everyone else was up in the air and figuring out who was on which team. They were left alone for the moment.

"I can't fly Potter!"

Harry's eyebrow furrowed, and his lips pursed as he gave Draco his full attention. Waiting for an explanation, he just stared. As expected, Draco continued, "ever since what happened in the room of requirement... With the fire... I can't touch a broom without remembering. I just can't Potter."

It seemed the battle of Hogwarts had been traumatic for Draco as well. That was something Harry could fully understand. Swiftly he dismounted his broom, and grabbed Draco's. He put them away.

"Harry?" Ron called questioningly. "You playing?"

"Just realized there's some stuff we've gotta get back to at home. Next time I'll beat your team, sound good?"

"Not if we beat you! Anyway, I'll let everyone else know. See you later Harry."

Promptly they flooed back to their newly refurbished home.

"Thank you Potter."

"No problem Malfoy. Want to watch a movie?"

"Sure," Draco responded.

Harry smirked at him. "Lets see what you think of horror movies."

As it turned out, Draco did not like horror movies.
