I grew up in a strict world. Yes, strict. I mean they picked out what you could wear, your position, who you could and couldn't marry, and it was also strict in ways I cannot quite describe. By they I mean the Azcten. The Azcten force the idea into our heads, that our non-existent freedom is to keep us safe, you know, prevent another war from basically wiping us off the map like last time. Us, in my case does not mean humans. Surprise! I'm a vampire, a bloodsucking leech. Fifty years ago give or take -I apologize I'm not up to date with my vampire massacres- the humans came at us with wooden stakes and holy water. Come on, what else would you expect? All the vampires wanted was to be treated equally and the truth is, more of them than not, never spilled a drop of human blood. The Azcten just brainwashed everyone to believe they did...Many of both kinds were killed in the war, the Guardians hired to hunt our kind made sure of it and of course they 'succeeded'. My grandparents and my mom were the only ones that made it out. My dad was human, so much so that he cried over a paper cut. Don't let that fool you though, my dad was as strong willed as they come, and that's how I'm part human, part vampire. But ever since the war, we've had to live in secret, scared of our own shadows, but that was until I turned sixteen. That's when a Guardian showed up. And everything went downhill.Bloodline Broken TrilogyCo-written by mintxbriUpdates every FridayHighest: 35 in #vampire (15 July 2017)…
