PROLOGUE

"I DON'T have a son with a mental disability called homosexual! You have disgraced our family with your disgusting actions, put our faces into shame with that stunt of yours, and even made some of our investors cancelled their investment just because I have a gay son like you."

The father of the Altarejos is furious because of the knowledge that his eldest son is homosexual. The eldest should be the heir to their company since it will be the one to bring him grandchildren, but he found out earlier that night that Luziano is not something he thought would be.

"I am not gay, father," Luziano reasoned, which is the truth.

Nandirito sila sa sariling opisina ng ama sa mansion nila. Agad silang pumaroon dito galing sa isang business party ng kakilala ng ama nila. What happened was there was so many gossips around the room when they saw the heir of Atlas Corp. is flirting with the son of Helanz Empires. Of course, both fathers of the heirs are there to prevent them from causing another scene. They had to stop them dahil negosyo nila ang nakasalalay raw dito.

Jokes on them, because the Reinver Boverselli is gay, his brother Deinver is also gay, the Theofamos Nikolaos is known throughout their town because he had a pastime of visiting gay clubs, the eldest son of the founder of Park Medical Hospital just came out gay after their untimely death, and so many honorable people to mention. What's the catch? They're all successful in their own fields even though they have different sexuality and preferences in partner. Being gay doesn't mean unsuccessful in life.

Of course, closed minded people can't comprehend that.

"I am still attracted to women, are we gonna ignore that fact?" dagdag pa na salita ni Luziano, challenging his father.

"You cannot be both!" the father of Altarejos exclaimed. "You are a disgusting gay-shit that is hungry for what a man has in his pants."

"What do you mean I cannot be both?" nagugulohang tanong niya sa ama. "There's a bisexual in LGBTQIA+ for a big reason, heck, I could even be a pansexual. I'm still figuring out stuffs. I was forced out of the closet dahil lang sa may kinaka-usap akong cute na lalaki roon sa party ng mga kakilala mo. You outed me to your companions, Father."

"Closet, cabinet, pantry, whatever those are, I don't care, young man," anito. "LGBTV is just a concept that people with mental illness made out for fun. It is just a phase that you confused your feelings for the same sex. Hindi ka bading. Wala akong anak na bading, maliwanag?"

"Hindi nga ako bading dahil may malaking tyansa na isa akong bisexual person. I am still trying to figure out what are my preferences," paliwanag pa roon ni Luziano.

Tumayo naman sa swivel chair iyong ama nila at matalim na tinignan siya. His eyes held fury and rage that he throws into his direction. If his father's looks can intimidate others, it's not effective on him. Hindi naman siya nagpatinag at tinagpo rin ito ng matalim na mga tingin.

"And what? The next thing I will hear from you, you are a woman trapped in a man's body? That's all bullshit, Luziano," matigas nitong sambit as he grits his well-maintained teeth. He believes in his own knowledge and beliefs. "And being homo is a great sin for god. God only made man and woman. Si Satanas ang gumawa ng kabaklaan bilang salot sa lipunan!"

Ikinuyom na lang ni Luziano ang kaniyang kamao sa narinig galing sa ama. Marami siyang gustong isumbat sa ama, pero pinipigilan lang niya ang sarili to limit his words of choice. Kung hindi niya lang ito ama, baka kanina niya pa sinuntok at binugbog ang kaharap na lalaki. Wala mang respeto pakinggan, he badly wants to punch that annoying face of his father.

"You know what's bullshit, the whole concept of Christianity," Luziano spat back, frantically gesturing around. "Christianity is all just a bunch of hypocrites and hate full of people. Ginawa n'yo lang ang nakakaya n'yong gawin ayon sa testamento pero hindi ang ibang nasa Bibliya. Sobrang baluktot ng paniniwala ninyo. Mahalin ang kapwa? More like piliin lang ang mamahalin kung hindi ito nakakasira sa ego at sa sirang paniniwala n'yo."

Umigting ang bagang ng ama nila sa narinig sa anak at idinuro ito. "You're commiting blasphemy, you spawn of Satan! Kailanman, wala kang karapatan na pagsalitaan ang salita ng diyos dahil anak ka lang niya. Hindi mo alam ang pinaggagawa at pinagsasabi mo, dahil nasa impluwensiya ka ng demonyo!"

"Oh, really?" natatawang-inis na tanong niya sa ama. He humorously chuckled with a strain on his voice because of his fury. Hindi na niya alam ang emosyon ngayon. "As if god is really real. Oh, wait! You said LGBTQ is just a concept by people. You know what is a real concept? A concept of the universe that a bored god created and then created his own enemy just so he could have spice in his fantasy book. You should read the disregarded book of Enoch to see how a Bible is just a fantasy book."

"I have enough of you!" sigaw ng ama niya and he slammed his hands to his wooden desk. Gumawa naman ito ng malakas na ingay sa buong silid. "I will arrange you to the heiress of my business partner to get rid of your mental illness, and so you can come back to god and repent to him."

"You cannot do that to me," he smugly rebutted and crossed his arms above his chest.

"I can, and you will!"

"I am in legal age, therefore I don't need your guide or your consent. Our company in America is already in my name so you cannot take that away from me," ang pahayag niya roon while lightly tapping his right foot on his father's office floor. Parang lalong nagalit ang ama niya sa kaniyang sinabi.

"You're a disgraced to this family! Wala akong anak na katulad mo!" sigaw nito sa kaniya at parang puputok na ang litid ng ugat sa liig nito dahil sa galit.

"Then great! I also don't have a shitty father like you!" sigaw niya pabalik sa ama as he throws his hands on the air.

"From now on, you are not my family. I disowned you as my son. You are never to set foot on this house ever again," his father declared in a commanding tone with finality. There was no emotions rather than furious on his father's face when he declared that.

It hurt him a little dahil sa narinig sa ama, but that was it. If he's disowned, why would he want to stay under this shitty household? "I'll gladly leave your roof, if that's what you want," he said as he gave his father a stinky eye. "You cannot force me into something I am not, nor treat me as a puppet of your own selfish reasons," dagdag pang sabi ni Luziano bago tinalikuran ang ama at lumabas sa opisina nito.

Pagkalabas niya ay agad siyang nilapitan ng ina. She was standing there for a while now, listening to her husband and eldest son arguing. She has a tear cascading on her cheeks, na ayaw na ayaw na makita ni Luziano sa ina. He only wants to see his mother happy and well.

"Mom---"

Naputol ang kaniyang sasabihin dahil inunahan na siya ng ina.

"Sweetheart, please don't leave. Dito ka lang sa mansyon," nagsusumamong paki-usap ng ina niya. Hurt and pain was lace with her voice. She didn't want things to end up like this between her husband and her eldest son.

Gusto mang sundin ang ina, but he isn't welcome in this household anymore. At least, he finished off college before living by himself starting on.

With a tight smile, he leaned down to kiss his mom's head bago naglakad papunta sa sariling kuwarto niya. Narinig niyang humahagulhol ang ina at pumasok sa opisina ng ama upang ka-usapin yata ito na huwag nilang ipalayas ang anak.

Masakit man, he packed his personal things and loaded them to his own car. Lahat ng mga importanteng bagay ay dinala niya, ang mga hindi naman ay iniwan niya ang mga ito sa silid na naging shelter niya all throughout childhood. Not caring to look back at the mansion he once called home, sumakay na siya sa kotse at pina-andar ito. And with that, he left home for good.

HUHUHUHUHU. Ang raming bagay na crossing the lines na sa prologue na ito. HUHU.

Simula pa lang, heavy na ang story. That's how this story will be. Maraming smuts, maraming ding angst. I intended na gawing dark, darker and darkest ang Achilles Islands Trilogy. Ang story ni Achilles ang pinaka-dark na story sa kanilang tatlo. Rest assured, walang mga r4pe trope, Stockholm Syndrome at kung anong nagpapa-red flag sa mga characters na hindi kayang i-justify ng character development. Like, bruh, the guy r4ped you tapos papakasalan mo dahil sa huli ay may character development naman? Nah, not my cup of tea. I don't oppose them naman, basta I just don't support them langs.

Always remember, my characters are different from my point of perception in any things. Hindi ibig-sabihin sinulat kong homophobic na sila, ganoon din ako. Know how to separate what's fictional and what's reality. That's one of the rule in reading fictional stories.

I think there will be a hint of religiousxatheist trope sa story na ito. I won't write a converting scene of them, just pure understanding and no judgement between the two characters despite their differences. Kapag kasi sinusulat ko iyon, parang nagsusulat ako ng gayxgirl story na nako-convert ng babae ang bakla na pumapatol sa kaniya which is hindi namin preference ng mga bakla. I really hate that trope. No, that's an understatement. I loathed and very disgusted with that trope. To hell with that!

People has different beliefs, and we are all living our own struggles and battles. You have no rights to dictate what or how will that person should be because it is their own life to begin with. Kaya shut up na lang kayong mga homophobic, transphobic, misogynist, racist and etc...

Anygays, ang heavy ng nararamdaman ko dahil sa sinusulat kong ito. Don't worry, dito muna ang homophobic slurs, and maybe wala nang blasphemy statements. I am not painting atheist people bad in this story, but it is as well to show that atheism isn't about demonic or satanic cult shit. But it is about not believing in any gods or deities (Tapos tatawagin ng iba Satanism sila? Hindi nga naniniwala sa Bible, eh, mga demonyo pa kaya), living to your own accord and comfort in life, being practical and with none one-sided beliefs, free will to live without the gaslighting of the church or higher people, and such things. Basta.

Sorry, my Christian friends and readers. HUHU. I don't know my religion dahil my mother is Born Again, and my father is Roman Catholic. I also studied sa Adventist school kaya walang jowabels all throughout my highschool years. No jowa since birth ako, mga madamz.
